Synopsis
Iyavadee ran away to live with Mother Manatalie in the forest and refused to return to the city. No matter how many people begged her, she would not go back. However, she continued caring for injured animals, protecting them from harm, and driving away intruders who tried to damage the forests and rivers.
Mamee joined Iyavadee’s group. Iyavadee and the forest mothers traveled through the jungle by swinging on vines, while Mamee moved through the forest by using her long hair to grab tree branches and swing along with Iyavadee. She could also use her hair to attack intruders. Both of them lived happily.
Pana, Buran, Arunee, La-ae, Pinij, Damrong, and Bua-ban often came to visit and tried to persuade Iyavadee to return to the city. Only La-ae went home to ask a fortune-teller about Iyavadee’s fate. The prophecy said Iyavadee still had bad karma and would face another terrible misfortune caused by other humans. La-ae therefore agreed that Iyavadee should remain in the forest for a while, but no one else agreed. Two years passed like this.
Eventually Iyavadee could not escape her fate. Bua-ban became seriously ill and needed major surgery. Because she loved and worried about her mother, Iyavadee reluctantly returned to the city. Mamee left the forest and stayed with Arunee, who accepted her like a daughter just as she had once accepted Iyavadee. Buran took care of Mamee, while Teacher Homnuan became Arunee’s assistant and helped teach Mamee about city life, although Mamee did not like it.
Meanwhile, Kamron, Puangmali, and Saengkaew fled to the Thai border areas and lived in hardship. Because they depended on Kamron, he gained power over them. Saengkaew hoped Puangmali would marry Kamron, but Kamron secretly had an affair with a cunning woman named Mayawadee. Puangmali later gave birth to a daughter named Nong Prai, but Kamron doubted whether the child was his or someone else’s.
Mayawadee introduced Kamron to Mong Tid, a powerful mafia leader on the border who needed a new right-hand man. Kamron and his companions began living well through illegal money. The three swore revenge on Iyavadee and Pana.
One day, while Damrong and Bua-ban were taking Iyavadee back to the city, Kamron and his accomplices ambushed them. Their car was violently attacked, overturned, and exploded. Damrong and Bua-ban died in the car. Iyavadee was thrown out while still chanting prayers she had heard faintly in her mind.
As she crawled away from her attackers, Iyavadee fell from a high waterfall cliff. She was swept away by the river and hit her head on rocks, losing consciousness.
A crocodile belonging to Mamee happened to be swimming nearby. It pushed Iyavadee’s body to the riverbank, saving her life. She remained unconscious for seven days and nights, cared for by a pair of intelligent twin monkeys.
When Iyavadee finally woke up, she had lost her memory. She believed the monkeys were the same ones she once saw at the Singapore Zoo. She behaved like a monkey herself, wandering through the forest with them and calling out for “Mother Ma.” She forgot everything about her past but still loved animals and continued protecting them.
Pana, Arunee, Manatalie, and others searched for Iyavadee everywhere but could not find her because she had wandered far into another forest region.
Two years later, while Kamron and his companions were being hunted by authorities, Puangmali secretly placed her daughter Nong Prai in a basket and set her floating down a river, hoping someone kind would find and care for her.
The basket eventually drifted to where Iyavadee was swimming with the monkeys. She found the child and immediately felt deep love for her, calling herself “Mother Ma” and the girl “my child.” Nong Prai also began calling her “Mother.”
They lived together in the forest with the monkeys, communicating with simple words, gestures, and emotions. Iyavadee sometimes dreamed about Pana and began remembering fragments of her past.
Meanwhile, Pana and his companions continued searching for her, following clues such as heart symbols Iyavadee subconsciously carved on trees.
Later, Iyavadee and Nong Prai were captured by Mayawadee and taken to a hidden settlement used to imprison women and traffic them illegally. Pana eventually infiltrated the place and rescued Iyavadee with the help of the monkeys.
Finally, Iyavadee returned to the city with Pana and Nong Prai. However, Kamron and his group continued their criminal activities and eventually confronted them again.
During the final battle, Nong Prai was taken hostage. When Puangmali and Saengkaew realized the child was actually Nong Prai—their own daughter—they tried to stop Kamron from attacking. But it was too late. Explosions occurred, killing Puangmali and Saengkaew.
Before dying, they confessed their crimes and asked Iyavadee to take care of Nong Prai. Iyavadee and Pana promised they would.
After all the tragedies passed, Iyavadee lived peacefully, raising Nong Prai as her own child and protecting the forest with Pana, Buran, and Mamee. A fortune-teller later said Iyavadee’s karma had finally ended and her life would now be peaceful.
Iyavadee and Pana eventually married, raising Nong Prai together, while Mamee and Buran also started a life together. They celebrated simply in the forest, surrounded by animals and loved ones.
