Synopsis

Kalong, a poor countryside girl with no family or support, is helped by Aunt Wan, who brings her to work at the Kasemsuk household. The owners are Sujira and her husband, Kawee. Kalong’s arrival worsens the already fragile relationship between the couple. When Kawee sees Kalong, he is immediately charmed by her. He is not the only one—Narong, a wealthy patron from Chiang Mai and Kawee’s friend, also falls in love with her at first sight.
Sujira becomes jealous and frequently argues with Kawee after noticing how close he is to Kalong. She begins to bully Kalong in many ways. Meanwhile, Kawee and Kalong secretly start a relationship, but Noi, a sycophantic maid, discovers them and informs Sujira. Enraged, Sujira attacks Kalong. Kawee takes her to the hospital, where they learn she is pregnant. Sujira becomes even more furious but cannot act openly out of fear of losing Kawee. Still, she secretly plans to eliminate Kalong.
Aunt Wan warns Kalong that Sujira once killed her own child out of spite toward her husband, so harming Kalong would not be difficult for her. Sujira later tries to cause Kalong to miscarry, but Kawee returns just in time to stop her. After this, Kawee decides to build another house with the help of a contractor, Sia Jiw, so he can live with Kalong and their child.
However, Sia Jiw also becomes attracted to Kalong. Sujira, consumed by hatred, plots an “accident” against Kalong using Jiw’s workers. Jiw overhears the plan and secretly alters it, making Kalong see him as a good man. Kawee eventually realizes Sujira was behind the incident, leading to more violent arguments between them.
As Kalong nears childbirth, Sujira attempts to push her down the stairs, but Kawee and Narong witness it. During a heated argument, Kawee suffers a heart attack, and Sujira deliberately refuses to help him, letting him die. Narong takes Kalong to the hospital, where she gives birth to a son, Rattasat, who will never see his father.
Afterward, Kalong returns home and learns of Kawee’s death. Narong asks her to live with him, but she refuses, as she loves only Kawee. Sujira plans to kill Kalong’s baby but unexpectedly grows attached to him and decides to take him as her own. She frames Kalong by hiring a man to sleep with her, then uses this as an excuse to expel her from the house.
Jiw rescues Kalong and takes her to his home, but reveals his true nature—controlling and abusive—using her child as leverage. Later, Narong helps Jiw repay his gambling debts in exchange for Kalong. Kalong moves to Chiang Mai with Narong, but suffers again under the cruelty of Narong’s mother, Duangjai, and his other wives.
Kalong becomes pregnant again, but Duangjai plots to poison her. Instead, Narong accidentally drinks the poison and dies. Kalong is cast out once more and later receives news that her son Rattasat has died in America. Devastated, she attempts suicide but is saved by Tuenjai, who gives her work at a restaurant. Kalong later gives birth to a daughter, Wasithi.
Meanwhile, Sujira changes her name to Matika and renames Rattasat as Patrick. Years pass. Wasithi grows up and meets Patrick in America, and they fall in love, unaware they are siblings. Eventually, the truth is revealed, leading to heartbreak.
Kalong, now seriously ill with leukemia, tries to protect her daughter while reconciling with Patrick. Sujira, mentally unstable, returns and attempts to harm Kalong again. Patrick is injured while protecting her, and Sujira is finally arrested.
In the end, Kalong dies peacefully surrounded by her loved ones. Though her life was filled with suffering, she finds peace in her final moments, embraced by those she loves.
