After a massive tidal wave devastated a sea gypsy village on an island in the Andaman Sea, a mysterious baby girl wearing a pearl necklace was found crying on the shore. To the superstitious villagers, the infant was an omen of calamity, believed to have brought the disaster upon them. Only an elderly couple took pity on her and raised her as their own.
Eighteen years pass. Phaenfa, a young businessman and owner of a modeling agency, is scouting locations by boat when it capsizes. As he loses consciousness underwater, a beautiful mermaid swims to his rescue. He catches only a fleeting glimpse of her face before blacking out.
Mahasamut, a dedicated marine conservationist and Phaenfa’s half-brother, rushes to his side upon hearing of the accident. Phaenfa recounts the rescue and asks Mahasamut to help find the woman so he can repay her. While searching, Mahasamut saves a young woman named Ratree from thugs trying to steal her necklace. Injured in the scuffle, Mahasamut is taken to Ratree’s home to recover. He is instantly smitten by her beauty and kindness, unaware that she is the mermaid who saved his brother, as Ratree keeps her identity a secret.
When Mahasamut recovers, Ratree’s grandparents push him to leave, fearing her secret will be exposed. Meanwhile, Phaenfa’s public search for his savior attracts many imposters. He returns to the site of the wreck and eventually spots Ratree swimming in the sea, recognizing her immediately.
Ratree is brought to Bangkok to stay at Phaenfa’s condo, under the care of Inthira. Overwhelmed by the city’s technology and fast-paced life, Ratree often finds herself in awkward situations in front of Mahasamut, who frequently looks after her on Phaenfa's behalf. When a crisis hits the agency, Ratree steps in as a model, with the help of a veteran stylist named Ma Nam.
Daneeya, the agency’s top supermodel who views Phaenfa as her own, is deeply jealous and begins to bully Ratree. Mahasamut constantly steps in to protect and encourage her, causing Ratree to unknowingly open her heart to him. Meanwhile, a producer named Sila becomes obsessed with Ratree’s mysterious aura, fueling further resentment from the other models. To ease her loneliness, Phaenfa gives her a goldfish named See Som, whom Ratree can secretly communicate with.
Tensions rise as Phaenfa becomes jealous of the bond between Ratree and Mahasamut, fueled by rumors that Ratree is playing both brothers. Wanting to become fully human, Ratree learns from See Som that a kiss of true love will bind her to the human world forever. Heartbroken but wanting her happiness, Mahasamut tries to facilitate a romance between Phaenfa and Ratree by keeping Daneeya away.
The conflict reaches a breaking point when Phaenfa announces his marriage to Ratree. During the wedding, Daneeya and Sila attempt to expose her by ripping the pearl necklace from her neck in front of the press. The shock causes Ratree to transform into a mermaid, and Phaenfa faints in terror. Mahasamut rushes her back to the sea, telling her she belongs there since Phaenfa was not her true love. However, unable to bear the thought of leaving him, Ratree decides to risk everything on a kiss with Mahasamut, hoping his love is the true one she seeks.
