Synopsis

The dream of Suwannathai Mahaisawan, a country singer who aspires to become as famous as Sayan Sanya or Yodrak Salakjai, comes crashing down because of his womanizing ways. Using his charm as a singer, he flirts with and breaks the hearts of many women—until he gets involved with Nok and Nuch, the daughters of an influential figure. When they discover that Suwannathai has many other women, they become furious, leading to him being banned from performing in Bangkok.
With nowhere else to go, Suwannathai returns to his hometown. He insists on being called Suwannathai, but everyone still calls him “Thongthaep,” especially his father, Phra Thongbai, a respected abbot who dislikes that his son refuses to use the name he gave him. Despite his past troubles, Thongthaep does not abandon his flirtatious habits. Things get worse when he teams up with his friend Thongdok, who encourages his behavior. The “Thong” family is notorious for being womanizers—even Phra Thongbai himself was one in his youth, which led him to ordain as a monk for life.
Chaos ensues when Thongthaep runs into Pikul, a woman he once courted, and old feelings begin to rekindle. This leads to conflict with Plueang, the son of village headman Plang, who is currently dating Pikul. Thongdok urges Thongthaep to abduct Pikul, but the plan goes wrong—they accidentally abduct Maprang, Plueang’s younger sister, instead.
To keep Maprang quiet about the mistake, Thongthaep tries to please her, and over time, they grow closer. Though reluctant, Maprang ends up helping Thongthaep win Pikul back, and Pikul begins to develop feelings for him again. However, she is already engaged to Kraipob, a wealthy and handsome outdoor movie operator chosen by her father.
Plueang is heartbroken, but Thongthaep is not—because he realizes he has fallen in love with Maprang. Thongdok then suggests that Thongthaep abduct Maprang and force her to become his wife. He follows this terrible advice, deeply hurting Maprang, who confronts him. This incident finally makes Thongthaep come to his senses, and he formally asks for her hand in marriage.
However, village headman Plang sets a condition: Thongthaep must provide a dowry of five million baht within seven days. Determined, Thongthaep forms a new country band and performs daily under the concept of “singing to earn money to get married.” His story gains public sympathy, and even radio stations help promote him. Eventually, he manages to raise the five million baht—but on the way to propose, the money is stolen by robbers.
Plueang reports the crime immediately, and the robbers are eventually caught. In the end, Thongthaep and Maprang—now renamed Thongprang—live happily together. Thongthaep becomes a successful singer, while Pikul breaks off her engagement with Kraipob due to incompatibility and eventually reconciles with and marries Plueang.
This is a lively and heartfelt love story set in the countryside, filled with rustic charm. It follows a flirtatious country singer who falls for the daughter of his family’s longtime rival, leading to chaos, misunderstandings, and ultimately true love—tested by a near-impossible challenge: raising five million baht in just seven days.
