Synopsis

Suea See Fun is the story of Auan, a beautiful and vibrant 21-year-old woman. Auan is cheerful, quick to smile, and possesses a charm that makes everyone she meets take an immediate liking to her. Physically, she is strong and somewhat lanky, lacking the typical "soft" feminine grace, but she carries herself with immense pride. She is particularly proud to be the daughter of Nai Ing, a master mason. Auan aspires to be just like her father.
Auan’s life has been a constant struggle against poverty. Her mother sells curry and rice from a cart, while her father works as a mason. Auan has two younger sisters, On and Ong, who are still in school. Despite their hardships, the family refuses to let poverty or discouragement break them. Ong takes on sewing jobs for extra income, and Auan left school to work as a construction laborer, training under her father's guidance.
They both work for Sia Sumeth, who employs many laborers divided into groups. Auan and her father usually work in a group of 7-8 people, including close colleagues like Uncle Phan, Aunt Wien, Aunt Mom, Phi Kep, Chan, Ngoen, Waew, Phon, Kling, At, and Jong.
Jong is a 24-year-old mason who is secretly in love with Auan, though she shows no interest in him. Jong is a good man—humble, hardworking, and ambitious. Through sheer determination, he rose from a general laborer to a skilled mason in a short time. He is handsome and well-built, catching the eyes of Kep and Chan, but Auan remains indifferent to him.
Auan's life takes a turn when the Sia sends her group to build a house for Khun Jurai. There, she meets Krip, Khun Jurai’s son. Krip is dashing, sophisticated, and has a gentle, charming personality. Auan falls deeply in love with him. Her close-knit group of fellow workers, who are like family, notice her unusual behavior. Auan begins to daydream and even volunteers to work as a housemaid for Khun Jurai to replace Larp, who is hospitalized—even though Auan loathes housework.
She wants to be near Krip, to see him and talk to him, hoping he will realize how she feels. However, it isn't as easy as she imagined. Jit, an old cook in the house, watches Auan’s every move, and Yong, a flirtatious gardener, tries to pursue her. Many people try to warn Auan to stop dreaming of Krip, but she cannot. The once-cheerful girl becomes silent and moody. Whenever Krip’s female friends visit, Auan becomes angry and resentful of her own lowly status.
Krip is friendly and speaks to Auan without any class prejudice. Because Auan is beautiful, Krip enjoys talking to her. Their growing closeness is whispered about by the workers, leaving Jong heartbroken and depressed. One day, Yong attacks Auan, insulting her harshly for her feelings toward Krip and slapping her. Auan, who never backs down, fights back, but because she is still recovering from being hit by a car while daydreaming, she is badly injured. Humiliated and pained by her poverty, she declares she will never set foot in Khun Jurai’s house again.
In her time of despair, Jong stays by her side, comforting and caring for her. Auan finally begins to see his goodness. Jong asks her to marry him, but Auan asks to wait until they are more financially stable. She pushes her mother to open a permanent curry shop instead of a cart and convinces her father and Jong to leave the company to become independent contractors.
Soon, the business flourishes. Jong returns to claim Auan’s promise of marriage. Auan acknowledges that Jong is a truly good, hardworking man who loves her deeply, and her parents support the match. She agrees to marry him, believing she should love someone "appropriate" for her station. However, when Krip visits the shop, Auan realizes she hasn't truly forgotten him. Sensing this, a wounded and saddened Jong disappears.
Auan tries to tell herself she doesn't care, but as time passes without Jong, she begins to feel his absence. Too proud to go alone, she asks Jit to accompany her to find him. Jit brings along Bun-koen, her younger husband who is only after her money. They end up in a confrontation at a pub due to their own clumsiness; Bun-koen is shot dead, and Jong is stabbed and seriously injured.
Krip and Khun Jurai step in to help with the medical care and the funeral. For the first time, Auan speaks her heart to Krip. She is happy to learn that Krip was indeed interested in her, too. However, Auan finally makes her choice. She returns to her own world—the curry shop where everyone fought together—and returns to Jong, the man whose love and sacrifice were absolute.
Will Jong’s devoted love finally be fulfilled? Will Auan truly go through with the wedding? Follow their journey in "Suea See Fun."
