Biography
Aree Nakdontri (born 10 August 1932) is a prominent Thai entertainer and media figure. He has worked as a television announcer, host, actor, singer, voice actor, and radio and television program producer. His career began in 1955, during the early days of Thai television with Thai TV Channel 4, and has spanned several decades.
Aree played an important role in the development of Thailand’s television and music industries, especially in the early era of broadcasting. His work includes acting in television dramas, hosting radio and TV programs, singing, voice acting, and organizing concerts aimed at preserving classic Thai music.
In recognition of his long-standing contributions to Thai performing arts and broadcasting, he was named National Artist of Thailand (Performing Arts) in 2019. He has also received several honorary awards from major Thai television institutions.
His surname “Nakdontri” (meaning “musician”) was a royally granted surname, reflecting his close association with music and cultural contributions.
