ปงแสนทอง

1952
Release Date:June 28, 1952

On her journey to Lampang, Chor Thip Wilaiwan gives in to passion and spends the night with a young man named Thiao. However, Thiao is forced to leave her in the middle of the night to carry out a secret mission under the orders of Phor Liang Khampan at Pong Saen Thong.

By chance, Chor Thip encounters Inta, a young man who has loved her for over ten years. He offers to take her on a trip to Sop Ang weir. Inta soon learns that Chor Thip is fleeing from Phor Liang Khampan, who had bought her from her mother for 100,000 baht. Seizing the opportunity, Inta sweet-talks and manipulates her into falling for him with his flirtatious charm. By the time his true identity is revealed—that he is in fact Phor Liang Khampan—Chor Thip has already become his.

Meanwhile, Thiao ventures deep into the forest to meet Makhin, a woman who possesses a large quantity of opium. Along the way, he is betrayed by Nan Kham, who secretly robs Makhin’s caravan. When Thiao finally meets Makhin, he is stunned by how strikingly similar she looks to Chor Thip. Nan Kham continues his treachery by capturing and imprisoning both Thiao and Makhin together. Still haunted by his passion for Chor Thip, Thiao loses control and violates Makhin. Eventually, the two manage to escape.

Thiao rushes back to confront Khampan and settle the score. He arrives just in time to see Chor Thip being abused, leading to a gunfight. Thiao is shot—not by Khampan, but by Sang Lu, a man in love with Makhin. In revenge, Makhin shoots Sang Lu, who fires back and fatally wounds her. Mortally injured, Thiao gathers his last strength to confess his love to Chor Thip before dying.

The tragedy leaves Khampan filled with remorse. He arranges funerals for all the deceased and promises to leave Chor Thip alone. He then takes her for medical treatment and eventually sends her back to Bangkok, as she wishes.
