Rose of Nakhon Sawan

In the rice fields of Krok Phra subdistrict in Nakhon Sawan Province, a simple love blossoms between two young villagers, Ched and Nian. However, their love is far from smooth. Ched is poor, while Nian is the daughter of Kamnan Si, a local headman who has supported Ched’s education. Though Ched loves Nian, he keeps his feelings hidden—until one day he finally confesses, and Nian admits she feels the same. The two begin a secret and deeply devoted relationship, certain they cannot live without each other.
But their happiness is short-lived. One day, a rowdy man from Bangkok named Chit arrives and attempts to take Nian by force. Ched steps in to fight him, and in the chaos, Chit fires a gun. Tragically, the bullet misses its target and strikes Ched’s mother, Choi, killing her. With her dying breath, she reveals a shocking truth: Ched’s real name is Chan, and he is the son of Phraya Thepsrisunthorn, a nobleman in Bangkok. Determined to find his true identity, Ched leaves Nian behind, promising to return and marry her.
When he arrives at his father’s residence, Ched reveals the truth, and his father is overjoyed to welcome him back. Ched’s life changes completely—from a poor villager to a wealthy gentleman of the capital. However, with his newfound status, his heart begins to change as well. He becomes infatuated with Wilai, a beautiful city woman, and forgets the promise he made to Nian.
Meanwhile, Nian remains faithful to their love. Refusing to wait any longer, she runs away from home to find Ched, even though her family has arranged for her to marry a young district officer.
When Nian finally reaches Ched’s home, they meet again—but Ched denies her and cruelly reveals that he is about to marry Wilai. Unbeknownst to him, Wilai is a deceitful woman who only seeks to claim his wealth. When Ched’s father learns of his son’s behavior, he becomes furious at his lack of responsibility and disinherits him.
At that moment, Wilai reveals her true nature, making it clear she only wanted his fortune. Broken and regretful, Ched returns to his father and Nian, begging for their forgiveness. Out of a father’s love, he is forgiven, and Nian, who has always loved only him, accepts him once more. In the end, the two are reunited and live happily together.
