Witchuda Wiphada (Witch) is an eighteen-year-old girl and the youngest child of her family. Because her parents passed away when she was young, she was raised by her two older brothers, Police Lieutenant Colonel Wichat (Yai) and Deputy District Chief Weerachat (Klang). By the time her brothers realized they had raised their little sister to be a tomboyish, free-spirited rebel who was completely beyond their control, it was already too late. Furthermore, Witchuda’s close relationship with Ritthirong, a flirtatious playboy, makes Wichat even more worried. Wichat sees an opportunity to solve this problem when he learns that his close friend, Police Major Sorat Phiphat, is secretly in love with Witchuda. He tries to force Witchuda to marry Sorat, fully supported by his girlfriend, Sa-angthip. However, Witchuda refuses, declaring that marrying a bandit would be better than marrying a wimpy cop like Sorat.

Wichat and Sa-angthip try various methods to help Sorat win Witchuda’s heart, but she fires back by announcing that she is dating Ritthirong. Fed up with her brothers' pressure, Witchuda runs away to stay with her aunt, Lady Somsawat Thepwong, in Nonthaburi. There, Witchuda goes shooting birds and fishing with her sideboy, Dek Der. She accidentally shoots a slingshot pebble at Police Captain Sayam Phiphat (Nai Muet), who happened to wander onto the property. Seeing Witchuda's fearlessness and audacity, Sayam playfully frightens her by pretending to be "Suea Muet" (Tiger Muet), a notorious bandit scouting houses to rob. Witchuda is scared but puts up a brave front, threatening him not to even think about robbing her aunt’s house, as her aunt has a high-ranking police officer for a nephew. Sayam pretends to be scared and promises to turn over a new leaf.

The next day, Witchuda is shocked to learn that a thief actually robbed and assaulted her aunt. She is convinced the culprit is Suea Muet. Furious that he broke his promise, she vows revenge. Sorat begs Sayam to confess the truth to Witchuda that he isn't a bandit before things get out of hand, but Wichat stops him. Wichat comes up with a bizarre plan to correct Witchuda’s behavior and help Sorat win her over. He tells Sayam to continue playing the role of Suea Muet, wait for the right moment, and "kidnap" Witchuda. They will then stage a rescue where Sorat arrives just in time. Believing that seeing Sorat as a hero defeating a bandit will definitely make Witchuda agree to marry him, Wichat calls Weerachat down to help. Sorat is hesitant, fearing that if the truth comes out, Witchuda will hate him even more. Sayam also disagrees but reluctantly joins the scheme out of respect for Wichat, his senior officer. The four men hatch a plan to trick Witchuda into traveling to Nakhon Sawan, where she will be "kidnapped." Sayam’s old nanny, Nom Khlam, is brought in to stay with them to prevent any scandals. With three high-ranking cops and a district deputy putting their positions on the line, they believe the plan will easily succeed.

Sa-angthip disapproves of Wichat’s plan and asks Lady Somsawat to persuade Witchuda to accept Sorat’s love. Her aunt warns her not to judge a book by its cover; if she doesn't know someone's true character, she should take the time to learn. Just as a diamond can be found in the mud, a beautiful, respectable heart can be hidden behind an ugly facade. But Witchuda stubbornly refuses to listen. The pressure regarding Sorat becomes unbearable, and when she hears news of a bandit terrorizing Nakhon Sawan, she assumes it must be Suea Muet. She secretly sneaks away to Nakhon Sawan, dragging Dek Der along, completely unaware that she is walking right into Wichat’s trap.

Meanwhile, Sayam goes to say goodbye to Sutthanom Thanarak (Waew), his girlfriend whom he is supposed to get engaged to soon, and brings Sorat along to introduce him. Sutthanom’s parents, Luang Phisan and Lady Phisan, initially approve of Sayam. However, upon seeing Sorat, who holds a higher rank, Lady Phisan begins to hesitate and subtly encourages Sorat to visit frequently. Sayam, being straightforward, asks Sorat to look after his girlfriend while he’s away. As everyone is chatting happily, Suman, Sayam’s ex-girlfriend, suddenly appears and ruins the mood. Seeing her, Sayam immediately excuses himself. Suman tries to reconcile with Sayam, even though she was the one who dumped him for a richer man. Sayam’s indifference only fuels Suman’s desire to steal him back from Sutthanom.

Sotsuai, Weerachat’s wife, intercepts Witchuda and Dek Der and takes them to her house, having been tipped off by Weerachat’s telegram. She stalls Witchuda until Weerachat and Sayam arrive. Sayam attempts to grab Witchuda multiple times but fails. Eventually, Witchuda follows fake clues planted by Weerachat to track down Suea Muet, only to be ambushed by Sayam, who gags and ties her up before throwing her into his car—unaware that Dek Der has jumped onto the back of the vehicle. Witchuda is furious to learn that Suea Muet kidnapped her for ransom. Sayam plays the ruthless bandit, threatening to kill Dek Der if she disobeys, forcing Nom Khlam (playing the bandit's mother) to constantly intervene. Witchuda finds comfort in having Nom Khlam and Dek Der around.

Wichat tells Sorat to prepare for the rescue mission, but they must wait a few days to make the kidnapping look realistic. In the meantime, Sorat visits Sutthanom in Sayam’s place. Suman notices that Sutthanom is secretly drawn to Sorat, while Lady Phisan eyes Sorat as a better son-in-law. Suman seizes the opportunity to push Sutthanom and Sorat closer together, causing Sorat to develop feelings for Sutthanom. Just as it's time for Sorat to go rescue Witchuda, he receives an order to assist with official duties in Chumphon. Wichat is stressed that Witchuda must be held captive indefinitely, while Sa-angthip berates him for coming up with such an absurd plan in the first place.

Witchuda doesn't surrender easily. When Suea Muet is away, she sneaks into his room to find a gun for self-defense. She discovers both a gun and a photo of Sutthanom, sparking her suspicion about Suea Muet’s true identity. She questions Nom Khlam, who lies unconvincingly. Witchuda seizes a chance to escape with Dek Der, but Sayam catches them and takes the gun back. Sayam gets a headache realizing he has to hold Witchuda longer while simultaneously hunting a real, notorious bandit named Suea Son. Wichat travels to Nakhon Sawan after hearing Sayam wants to cancel the plan, and promises to help hunt Suea Son. Witchuda tries a softer approach, pleading with Nom Khlam to convince her "son" to turn himself in. Nom Khlam acts her heart out, shedding fake tears and claiming her son is beyond saving. Angry that the bandit makes his mother cry, Witchuda gives Sayam a harsh moral lecture. Sayam secretly laughs but maintains his tough-guy persona, bragging about his past robberies.

Sayam and Wichat hear that Suea Son is planning a major heist at a wealthy man's house in Pak Nam Pho and set an ambush. Sayam is shot and injured, fleeing back to the cabin. Witchuda has a chance to escape with Dek Der, but her conscience makes her stay to nurse Sayam back to health. Sayam is deeply touched by her kindness, and unknowingly, a bond forms between them. Sayam constantly reminds himself that Witchuda is the woman Sorat loves, while Witchuda reminds herself that she is falling for an evil bandit.

Luang Phisan brings his family to vacation in Nakhon Sawan, accompanied by Suman. Weerachat and Sotsuai host them. Suman is thrilled to see Sayam and tries to win him over again, urging Sutthanom to confess her feelings for Sorat, but Sutthanom is too scared. Sayam and Sutthanom both sense that their feelings have changed. Sayam’s heart is now in the forest with Witchuda, who is eagerly waiting for her "Suea Muet." The two grow closer, sharing stories. Sayam lies, claiming he has a highly successful twin brother, contrasting with his own fallen state as a bandit. Witchuda offers to help him find a legitimate job, and Sayam promises to turn his life around soon. Every day, Sayam sees more of Witchuda's beautiful heart.

Sorat manages to take a leave of absence and rushes to Nakhon Sawan to see Witchuda. While Witchuda and Dek Der are swimming, Witchuda dives underwater and doesn't resurface. Sorat prepares to jump in, but Sayam beats him to it. However, Sayam can't find her, and Witchuda pops up somewhere else. Sayam grabs her to scold her, but freezes when he sees Sorat hiding nearby. Afraid Sorat will misunderstand, Sayam reverts to his ruthless bandit persona and declares he's going out to rob again. Witchuda is furious that he broke his promise and refuses to speak to him. Sayam has no time to explain, as he must rush to catch Suea Son. He and Wichat raid Suea Son’s hideout, only to find a decoy. The real Suea Son disguised himself as a police officer and escaped. Sayam interrogates a subordinate and learns that Suea Son is heading to hide near Suea Muet’s cabin. Sayam frantically rushes back.

Sayam arrives to find Nom Khlam and Dek Der bound and gagged. He nearly goes insane upon learning that Suea Son has taken Witchuda. Sayam chases Suea Son down but, unable to do anything, pretends to submit and ask to join his gang. Witchuda is initially furious at Suea Muet, but soon realizes he is trying to protect her by claiming she is his sister. Wichat, Sorat, and Weerachat track them down, and a shootout ensues. Sayam shields Witchuda and gets shot, while Suea Son is captured. Wichat hurries Witchuda away before she can see if Suea Muet survived. Wichat’s master plan is completely ruined because Suea Muet ended up being the knight in shining armor instead of Sorat.

Witchuda is puzzled that no one mentions Suea Muet. Ritthirong tries to investigate but finds nothing. Later, Witchuda accidentally runs into Sayam at a police banquet. Sayam plays dumb, claiming his name is Sira (Mot) and that he is Suea Muet’s twin brother. Witchuda is confused, but when she sees Sayam with Sutthanom, she remembers the photo from the bandit's room and connects the dots. Furious that everyone lied to her, she retaliates by announcing she will marry Sorat, fully aware (thanks to Suman) that Sorat and Sutthanom are secretly in love. Ritthirong is left heartbroken. Sorat is forced to confess to Sayam and Wichat that he loves Sutthanom. Sayam isn't angry, as he has already given his heart to Witchuda.

Wichat has a massive headache, not knowing how to fix the mess of mismatched couples. Witchuda stubbornly insists on marrying only Sorat, or she will remain single for the rest of her life. Heartbroken, Sayam requests a transfer to a border province. Witchuda is secretly pained but lets her pride keep her from changing her mind. Wichat and Weerachat put their heads together for one last plan: they agree to arrange Witchuda's wedding immediately. Panicking that her brothers are actually going through with it, Witchuda tries to run away before the ceremony. The moment she steps out of the house, she is grabbed, her hands tied, her eyes blindfolded, and she is thrown into a car. Witchuda realizes she has been kidnapped by Suea Muet once again. But this time, he didn't kidnap her for someone else—he kidnapped her to win her heart back. Witchuda finally surrenders and is tamed by her "bandit" at a forest cabin named "Wanalee."

The drama "Wanalee" airs every Monday and Tuesday at 8:30 PM on Thai TV Color Channel 3. Premieres Tuesday, April 12, 2011.
