Phum (Beam Kawee) is a young psychiatrist who runs a clinic counseling people with mental health issues. While constantly helping his patients, Phum is also searching for true love to fill his own life with happiness.

Laila (Gybzy Wanida) has a recurring problem: no matter how many boyfriends she has, she always ends up getting dumped. She doesn't understand what is wrong with her. Every time she starts dating someone or goes through a breakup, she always comes to consult Phum, acting as both his friend and his patient. She is completely unaware that Phum has true love waiting solely for her.

Pat (Bank Athikit) is Phum's younger half-brother. He harbors a deep-seated complex, believing that their father loves Phum more than him and his late mother. Pat lives with Phum and their father (Phum's mother had also passed away, leading their father to remarry Pat's mother). Pat runs a flower shop and is in love with Kaew (Fang Dhanantorn). However, Kaew is in love with Phum, which only worsens Pat's feelings of inferiority and resentment.

A major turning point in the story occurs when Phum decides to confess his feelings to Laila. Since Laila is already paranoid and inherently distrustful of men when it comes to romance, the confession causes her to pull away and lose her trust in Phum. At the same time, Pat finds out directly from Kaew, the woman he loves, that her heart actually belongs to Phum.

How will Phum heal the love and nurture the happiness for himself and those around him? How will the love stories of these four individuals conclude? Find out in the drama Bumbad Ruk Bamrung Suk (Healing Love, Nurturing Happiness).

Tan (J Jetrin) and Pim (Nicole Theriault) are a married couple who have been together for six years. They have one child, little Nadia (Lizzy), a four-year-old girl who is as adorable as she is mischievous. Since Nadia seems to know she has great “ratings,” she can be rather spoiled and demanding.

Then an economic downturn — imported straight from America and worsened by domestic turmoil — shakes Thailand’s economy. As a result, Tan loses his job when his company restructures to cut costs, leaving him unexpectedly unemployed.

Meanwhile, Pim is a full-time housewife who dreams of becoming a writer. But because she never has enough time to seriously devote to writing, she has remained only a dreamer — or at best, someone who wants to write. Still, her dream has never faded. Even if she has never published a book, she continues to write on her web blog instead.

Tawan (Tee Wiwit), Tan’s younger brother who has just graduated, encourages Tan to start his own company and become his own boss. Tawan eagerly offers to help with the work — though in truth, he cannot find a job himself. He knows well that his older brother is extremely creative, so much so that many people think he is eccentric. To Tawan, his brother is not just eccentric — he is outright crazy in a brilliant way. That is why he supports Tan in launching a business unlike any other: a company dedicated to designing happiness for people in society.

Tan and Pim quickly agree with the idea, and so Tan starts a company called Sang Sook Co., Ltd. (Creating Happiness Co., Ltd.). He hopes the company can bring smiles to society, even if only small smiles to a few people. Pim hopes that those few people who receive happiness will then pass it on to the people around them, creating an endless chain of joy.

A film crew arrives and sets up in a local community, disrupting the villagers’ daily lives. Among them is Pod, a kind-hearted but clumsy man who strictly follows moral principles in both words and actions. Despite lacking the looks, he dreams of becoming an actor. He moves from the countryside to live with his bold and spirited cousin, Wan, who resides in the community.

Pod’s awkwardness constantly causes chaos on set, nearly ruining productions. Meanwhile, Somkid, a slick and cunning young man who can sell anything, becomes a hero in Pod’s eyes. He also catches the attention of Pornla and Thongprasom, two som tam vendors who abandon their stalls in hopes of becoming actresses. The two women constantly bicker and compete with each other.

Wan, curious about Somkid after hearing Pod praise him, eventually meets him—but is wary of his reputation for being manipulative. Although she secretly likes him, she hides her feelings. A fortune teller predicts they are soulmates, motivating Wan to try to change Somkid’s bad habits.

Another key figure is U, the son of the influential loan shark Sia A, who frequently visits to serenade Wan, though she shows no interest. Meanwhile, Somkid struggles under mounting debts—his own and those left by his mother, Nu Dee. His life takes a turn when a lawyer informs him of his father Somsuk’s death and leaves him a final inheritance: Sun Café.

At first, Somkid believes he’s struck gold, but quickly realizes the café is failing. His mother wants to sell it to pay off debts, but the lawyer insists Somkid must run it for at least a year before selling. Seizing the opportunity, Somkid negotiates with Sia A to delay his debts by using the café as collateral—though Sia A secretly plans to take it over.

Oddly, Somkid tells his mother he will run the café himself—only to deliberately make it fail. Knowing Pod dreams of stardom, he invites him to perform comedy at the café. Pod eagerly agrees, idolizing Somkid even more. Wan, suspicious, follows along as Pod’s manager to make sure he isn’t being deceived.

Somkid recruits Pornla and Thongprasom to join the act, believing their constant fighting will add to the chaos. Together, they form a comedy troupe called “Puan Sam Salueng.”

Meanwhile, Ratri, Somsuk’s former mistress, seeks revenge after being left with nothing. She sends Mimi to seduce Somkid and take over the café. Mimi initially targets U upon learning he’s wealthy, but fails because he truly loves Wan. She then uses Somkid instead.

Pod falls in love with Suay, a beer promoter and the girlfriend of To, a motorcycle taxi leader. Suay, feeling unworthy, pushes Pod away despite his sincerity.

As planned, Sun Café continues to decline, worsened by internal conflicts. Only Jae Ma, a loyal customer who has a soft spot for Somkid, continues to support them. Frustrated, Wan decides to turn things around by uniting Pornla and Thongprasom and introducing a new idea—parodying TV dramas as comedic performances.

Despite a rough start, their shows gain popularity through word of mouth. The troupe becomes successful, pays off debts, and even receives offers to perform on television. However, Sia A sabotages them, preventing them from reaching the studio. Wan, believing Somkid has been manipulating everyone all along, quits. Pornla and Thongprasom also leave in disappointment.

In the end, Somkid sells the café to Sia A. But determined to make things right, he takes the troupe on the road, performing across different places until they earn enough money to build a new café from scratch.

Sia A retaliates by kidnapping Wan in exchange for land. U, unable to accept his father’s actions, helps her escape. Violence erupts as Sia A orders his men to eliminate everyone. Pod is nearly shot, but Suay sacrifices herself by taking the bullet for him.

In the aftermath, Wan thanks U for saving her life—but gently tells him that she can only love him as a friend.

Klin, also known by his Japanese name Yoichi, is the only son of Angsumalin and Kobori, a Japanese officer who died during World War II. Angsumalin raises Klin with great strength and resilience. Although Wanas, a former Free Thai movement member who has long loved her, confesses his feelings and offers to care for them, Angsumalin remains faithful to her memory of Kobori, maintaining only a close friendship with Wanas. She tries to instill Kobori’s spirit in Klin, but as he grows up, Klin feels a deep-seated resentment toward his Japanese heritage.

By the time Klin becomes a lecturer at the Faculty of Economics, Thammasat University, Thailand is under a military dictatorship. As a modern-thinking young man, Klin becomes a leader in student protests against Japanese goods—ironically, without anyone knowing his background. Only Chitapha, a fellow lecturer, knows his secret and constantly warns him of the dangers of his political involvement.

Among the protestors is Sarawanee, a prominent third-year Political Science student. Klin is deeply impressed by her. However, Sarawanee soon discovers that Klin is actually her older cousin—the "half-Japanese" son of Angsumalin, whom her family despises for marrying an enemy soldier. Following her family's prejudice, Sarawanee subjects Klin to what would today be called social bullying, revealing his ancestry to the public. This causes his peers to alienate and distrust him. Only Chitapha, who is Sarawanee’s aunt, stands by him.

The tension shifts when Sarawanee is arrested. Klin rushes to save her, leading her to finally meet Angsumalin. Upon meeting her, Sarawanee realizes that Angsumalin’s love for Kobori was genuine and that she isn't the "traitor" her family claimed. Sarawanee changes her attitude and apologizes, and the two cousins begin to form a deep bond. This reconciliation enrages Sarawanee’s aunt, Kob, leading Sarawanee to run away from home.

Tragedy strikes during the "Day of Great Sorrow" (the October 14 uprising). Klin searches for Sarawanee amidst the chaos and finds her critically injured and traumatized, haunted by the guilt of leading her friends to their deaths. As the government resigns following the mass casualties, Chitapha decides to move abroad to seek medical treatment for the dying Sarawanee.

In this moment of parting, Klin realizes he loves Chitapha with all his heart. However, they cannot be together as she is already engaged to a foreigner. They part with a promise to remain each other's strength from afar. Back at home, Angsumalin’s health declines, and she frequently asks when Chitapha will return. In her final moments, she asks Klin to play the Shamisen for her. As Klin plays, he doesn't realize that his mother has passed away—Kobori has finally come to lead Angsumalin to the Milky Way, fulfilling the promise they made years ago. Klin is left playing the music alone.

"What is the use of holding onto Thithi (stubborn pride) against one another? Determination and a strong heart are virtues if used correctly, but what is the benefit of wielding them against the person we love?

A human life is not that long; especially the time meant for love—it always passes by so quickly. Those who have already lived through that time will feel it deeply in their hearts. Time... no matter what the environment is like, the heart remains warm with hope. Even when that time will never return, that person can still find happiness by cherishing the memories of past joy as a source of comfort.

Remember... if we understand the one we love, that flame of light will always stay warm within our hearts. What meaning would life have if, at least once, it never knew a gentle love? If it never touched a bond so profound that one would be willing to sacrifice everything... simply for the person they love?"

Phra Kritsanai, a monk who strictly adheres to Buddhist principles, asks permission from Ajarn Pho to go on a pilgrimage (thudong) to deepen his understanding of the Dhamma. In the past, Kritsanai was a hot-tempered and impulsive young man, frequently involved in brawls with students from rival institutions, which led to constant trouble at the police station and caused his mother, Suree, great distress.

During one fight, Kritsanai was injured and went to the hospital, where he met Jintana, a trainee nurse. He felt an immediate attraction to her. One night, a rival gang ambushed him in front of his house; Suree shielded him and was stabbed instead. Deeply remorseful, Kritsanai cared for his mother until she recovered and decided to ordain as a monk to repay his debt of gratitude to her.

Concerned for Phra Kritsanai, Jintana volunteered for a mobile medical unit to help people in rural areas while searching for news of him. Her hope eventually paid off when she encountered him in a remote village, but Phra Kritsanai remained detached from worldly matters. Meanwhile, Dr. Anuchit, who harbored feelings for Jintana, continued to support and encourage her search.

As Phra Kritsanai continued his pilgrimage, he encountered various challenges. At a gas station, a gang of bandits took a young girl hostage. He offered himself in her place and used Buddhist teachings to persuade the criminals to repent and surrender to the police. He continued traveling from village to village, using the Dhamma to refine the minds of the locals.

Phra Kritsanai consulted Ajarn Pho about a mysterious land he saw in his dreams. Ajarn Pho told him that this place might be the destination waiting for him. Eventually, he reached a deep forest and began meditating in a cave.

On the medical front, Dr. Anuchit was severely injured while assisting soldiers. Jintana cared for him until he recovered, at which point he proposed to her, but she did not give him an immediate answer. Later, Jintana and Suree visited Ajarn Pho, only to find that he had passed away peacefully in a meditative posture. At that same moment, while Phra Kritsanai was meditating far away, the spirit of Ajarn Pho appeared to him to say that his own journey had ended.

Phra Kritsanai eventually settled in a small, drought-stricken, and desolate village facing an epidemic. He met Nang Mongkhon, a woman who had just lost her son. Because she had no money, the monk took care of the funeral arrangements. In gratitude, she donated her land to him.

Phra Kritsanai contacted Suree and Jintana. When they arrived, they saw him working with the villagers to transform the parched land into a temple on the donated plot. He vowed to remain a monk at this temple for the rest of his life, apologizing to Suree for not fulfilling a son's traditional duties and telling Jintana to find her own true path. Jintana reflected on his words and finally realized what she truly wanted.

Does Phra Kritsanai's dream land truly exist? How will he discover it? Follow the story in the drama Phutthanuphap.
