Synopsis
Keng (Chaiya Mitchai), a young man with a talent for singing, breaks his promise to Na On (Rungrat Duangkhwan), his beloved aunt who fiercely protected him from the country music industry. Keng travels to Bangkok with Kram (Phuchis Kittikhunakkharayothin), his best friend who loves boxing, to become a singer for SK Red Chord, owned by Khun Somchai (Yingyong Yodbuangam). Before leaving his village, Keng makes a "promise of love" to Khao Hom (Arada Prompruk), his girlfriend. He promises that after investigating the friend who murdered Phor Kla (Ekarach Suwannaphum), stole money, and caused Mae Nim (Tuck Leela) to die of a broken heart, he will return to marry her if he catches the traitor.
However, fate intervenes. Khao Hom, a young girl with a voice as clear as a magpie, becomes a singer at M Music, owned by Khun M (Peter Modify). Makhin (Cenam AF), her best friend, and Bua (Thadsika Yutimitr), her sister, come to Bangkok together because Bua had trouble with Pa Siwang (Phenchan Wongsomphet), who intended to snatch Bua and sell her to a lecherous rich man. Makhin had to return to Bangkok even though she had escaped the chaotic, dirty side of the beauty pageant industry to live in Pak Chong. Khao Hom and Bua ask for permission from Jay Lamyai (Aphaporn Nakhonsawan), their sharp-tongued but kind-hearted aunt, to go to Bangkok.
Upon arriving in Bangkok, Khao Hom meets Doctor Tom (Thotsawat Thasuwan), Khun M’s son. Tom is a pitiable young doctor with a mental scar because his father focused only on work and was a womanizer, taking singers in his camp as secret wives. This led Mae Manee (Nattaya Chanrung) to take Tom's only sister, Cherry, and die in an accident. Consequently, Tom refuses to return home because he cannot bear the emotional pain. But when Khao Hom moves into the house where Mae Manee and Cherry once lived, Tom feels that the house has returned to happiness. Khun M is very satisfied because he gets both a talented singer and his son back into his embrace.
However, the story is not as smooth as anticipated. The music camp Keng belongs to has Reya (Reya Waiyawatjakorn), a famous singer dubbed the "Gospel Shaking Dancer," who falls for Keng the moment she meets him. Furthermore, Khun M uses a dirty tactic to steal a song from Reya. Therefore, Reya decides to take revenge on Khao Hom by stealing Keng to be hers, aided by her partner in crime, Sali (Thidarat Magsri).
But Sali's plot to steal a boyfriend reaches the ears of Kru Kukkai (Chai Hack), Nok (Sasikarn Suwannarach), Mod (Apisara Rakchat), and Pla (Wimonphan Chaleejanghan)—the four guardians who protect Keng's love (partly because they want to keep Keng for themselves). Keng learns about Phor Kla from Phum (Natthaphon Rattaniphon), a young songwriter secretly in love with Reya, as Phum knows many old-school teachers.
Khao Hom is equally busy. Besides the kind Doctor Tom, there is Thua Phu (Jittima Singdet), Khun M’s secret wife who dislikes Khao Hom and her friends, often trying to bully them, but always loses to Bua. Makhin is exhausted because, in addition to the people at M Music, an old friend from the countryside named Mek (Korawit Ruansorn)—the rebellious son of Sia Kamthorn (Thua Rae Chernyim), a powerful tycoon in Pak Chong who has good relations with Khun M (having done bad things together)—follows them to harass them. Mek brings his mischievous henchmen, Dui (Nathayu Chaiyathep) and Dui (Job Manju), to Bangkok. Initially, Mek intends to win Khao Hom's heart, but upon encountering sophisticated city people who plot to harm folks from the countryside, Mek reforms to help his friends from Pak Chong.
Keng and Khao Hom achieve great success as rising country music stars. However, as a couple, their relationship weakens because Keng begins to get jealous of Khao Hom and Doctor Tom, speaking harshly to her and causing her great sadness. This is the moment Reya and Doctor Tom intervene between Keng and Khao Hom, causing a wider rift. The relationship breaks further when Keng and Khao Hom have to tour together (because their duet song is famous), making it a case of "the closer they are, the more it hurts."
Kram has to box and has no time to look after his best friend, while Bua becomes a famous actress, looked after by Mek and his henchmen. Khao Hom only has Makhin for help, but the more Makhin helps, the more Keng misunderstands. Eventually, while on tour, Keng, Khao Hom, Makhin, Kukkai, Nok, Mod, and Pla are kidnapped for ransom by two eccentric bandits, Seua Hoi and Seua Hiu, who force them to act as a couple. Fun, bickering scenes occur in the bandit camp.
Doctor Tom and Reya are deeply worried, unable to bear that Keng and Khao Hom are missing together, so they go searching. Kram, Bua, and Mek also join the search, wanting to escape the trouble of Pa Siwang, who sent people to hunt Bua. Maeam (Fon Silarat), the gossipy girl of the village, reports in the newspaper that the nieces are missing. On faints from worry. Jay Lamyai, On, and Maeam join Khun M and Somchai’s group, setting up camp near where Keng and Khao Hom disappeared. On recognizes that Somchai is the friend who took Phor Kla to sign a contract before he was shot dead on the concert stage. Jay Lamyai tells On to calm down and wait for Keng and Khao Hom to return.
Keng and Khao Hom have to live closely together, leading to a reconciliation. Keng admits he trusts Khao Hom did not steal Reya's song, but spoke harshly due to the poison of jealousy. The love story seems to be going well, but Doctor Tom’s group, Reya, and Bua’s group arrive, leading to fun events at the welcoming party hosted by Seua Hoi and Seua Hiu. At this party, Reya, who dislikes Doctor Tom, begins to see something good in the young doctor, and Tom realizes he doesn't love Khao Hom as a lover, but loves and cherishes her as a younger sister.
The next morning, Seua Hoi and Seua Hiu prepare to send everyone home, but they are captured by the Wa rebels. Chaos ensues as they have to help each other. In the end, everyone is safe. Keng and Khao Hom understand each other. Reya finds new love with Doctor Tom. Kram confesses his love to Bua. Mek, who once liked Khao Hom, changes to liking Bua, becoming Kram's love rival.
Everyone returns to meet Somchai, Khun M, and Na On. Jay Lamyai. However, Somchai is injured while saving Keng from the Wa rebels. The doctor searches for a blood donor for Somchai, and surprisingly, Kram has the same blood type as Somchai. Na On tells Keng that Somchai is the friend who came to pick up Phor Kla from the village. Somchai had an accident, causing him to lose his memory, even forgetting his own son. The only thing he remembered was the company name "SK," because S was Somchai and K was Kla. Therefore, he did not return to look after his friend's family.
Keng cannot accept this and does not believe Somchai didn't know anything. Keng leaves SK Red Chord to join Khun M, causing a rift between Keng and Kram. Kram, Bua, and Mek investigate until the truth is revealed. Everyone is shocked to learn that Phor Kla's best friends were not only Somchai but also Khun M, and the person sent to shoot Phor Kla in the middle of the concert stage was Sia Kamthorn. However, Sia Kamthorn was too busy drinking to pluck up courage and fell asleep drunk. The incident with Kla Siangphet was a true accident.
Na On forgives Somchai and softens, agreeing to be Somchai's new wife. Khun M becomes seriously ill with hemiplegia. M regrets only working for his own benefit, causing his wife and daughter to die, and losing his best friend. Tom forgives his father, but the company is in bad shape due to news that the owner once cheated Kla Siangphet. Reya feels very sorry for Doctor Tom because he wants to save his father's company but doesn't want to leave his doctor profession. Somchai suggests that these two companies used to be one, but separated after Phor Kla died. If they merge again, as Phor Kla once wanted, it would be good. Everyone agrees to merge into one company under the name "SMK," featuring three star singers: Keng, Khao Hom, and Reya, along with the acting couple Bua and Kram.
Mek has to endure unrequited love twice, but he agrees to work for SMK Company because the three wives (Nok, Mod, Pla) ordered him to. Jay Lamyai happens to become an essential singer in the camp, with Maeam as her personal manager who recently divorced her husband for gossiping too much. Makhin resolves the mental knot regarding Pa Siwang accusing her of selling girls in her agency, which caused a girl to commit suicide. She returns to being a golden manager for stars and singers. Doctor Tom continues working at the hospital, while Reya helps manage the company. Keng holds shares on behalf of Phor Kla. Keng sings occasionally, but most of his work is managing the company because Somchai is busy being happy with Na On, traveling here and there. Khao Hom is happy being a singer because she sings with love. Importantly, she probably can't stop being a singer because she married Keng, the major shareholder of the music company.
And this is the chaotic story interspersed with laughter and tears, featuring the star-studded cast of the year in the drama Sanya Muea Sayan.
