Synopsis

Everyone in the Thai entertainment industry knows Eiam Aranyaphat (Marie Broenner), a hot leading actress and the only daughter of Than Anon Asavatinakorn (Dom Hetrakul), a major politician and former minister. Eiam has problems with Pimpitcha (Joy Cholticha Nuamsukon), her vicious stepmother. Pimpitcha used to be the nurse taking care of Eiam’s mother, but she ambitiously seduced Anon and stole him away, causing Eiam’s mother to die. Furthermore, she manipulated Anon into cutting off ties with Eiam. Eiam waits for the day to settle this debt of vengeance.
However, what puts Eiam in the news almost every day are the issues with her fellow cast member, Mamuang Weluya (Bus Busysiri Ratanapaisansuk). Mamuang plays demure roles, but in reality, she speaks bluntly, is fierce, and never backs down, leading to frequent quarrels. This is unlike Khem Khempantha (Janji Kaia-Janjira Janpitakchai), a super spicy villainess who is intense on screen but soft and idealistic in real life, causing people to think she is just acting innocent. The scandals of these three girls delight Jay Tao Tula Jindawatana (A-Suraphan Chaopaknam), their manager, because it means income from events, photoshoots, and dramas comes pouring in. Everyone envies Eiam for being a "Someone" celebrity whom everyone watches. Pimpitcha is furious that she cannot defeat her stepdaughter, despite struggling to steal Anon from Eiam's mother, Suwaree. Therefore, she recruits Berry (Lapui Pimrata Kittipattanawat), a girl from her old community, to strengthen her team because she sees Watsachon Makkinson (Tai Natthaphon Leeyawanich), a handsome guy and adopted son of a foreign businessman who produces a hot conservation-themed documentary, rumored to be flirting with Eiam.
Eiam investigates and discovers that Watsachon used to be Pimpitcha's ex-boyfriend, and now her "ugly-faced" stepmother is pursuing him to rekindle the relationship. Eiam finds an opportunity to get to know Watsachon to thwart Pimpitcha. Watsachon is happy to meet the young girl who once saved him when Pimpitcha broke his heart. At that time, Watsachon was just a young man without a future, abandoned mercilessly by his nurse girlfriend, Pimpitcha. He was drunk and almost got killed by a car, but luckily, young Eiam saved him in time. That impression from that day remains with him to this day. Watsachon admires the strong heart Eiam had when she consoled him about the "Gasrotich"—the creature with the shortest lifespan—saying that even though it lives shortly, it never contemplates suicide. Humans are better; when born with a longer lifespan, they should do as much good as possible. When given the opportunity, Watsachon chose to produce travel documentaries. The reunion of Watsachon and Eiam makes their hearts draw closer without them realizing it.
Pimpitcha seeks revenge on her stepdaughter by releasing false news for Pa Kai (Moutsi Chansam Kuntetun), a veteran reporter, to dig up and destroy Eiam. While Pimpitcha tries to steal Watsachon's heart back as an ex-girlfriend, Berry tries to backstab her boss to take the same man. Eiam fights with her stepmother and accidentally blurts out that she will steal Watsachon to take revenge. Khem is present and accidentally records this clip, but Berry secretly sends this clip to Watsachon. He is deeply hurt that the woman he loves sees him only as a pawn for revenge. Watsachon silently gives up on Eiam. Pimpitcha tells this story to Christopher (Matthew Dean), the nephew of Damrong (Jirawat Wachirasarunpat), the owner of a hot new digital TV station, because Damrong intends to cast Christopher as the leading man opposite Eiam to rescue the station's drama ratings.
Damrong aggressively forces Christopher into a "fan service couple" pairing with Eiam, causing a stir in the industry. Watsachon secretly feels jealous of his girlfriend. Because of Eiam's true nature, Christopher trusts her and reveals that he is gay. The two end up as best friends. Meanwhile, Berry, who is starting to lose her place in the industry, does everything to upgrade herself to a top-tier star, even going as far as giving herself to both Damrong and the director to bring Eiam down. Eiam's acting career becomes a hit again, but her relationship with Watsachon remains ambiguous. This is different from Khem, whose heart is blooming in love with Prach (Yong Anusorn Maneethed), the owner of a supercar business who is as handsome and rich as Watsachon. At first, Prach thought to prank Khem because he misunderstood her to be the woman of Tarit, his father. In reality, Tarit is marrying Khem's aunt. Mamuang is equally happy when Tantai (Pae Taweerit Julasap), the handsome and charming owner of Rai Taen Rak, pursues her. Although they initially hated each other immensely, Tantai thought Mamuang was hunting rich men, so he investigated her history. Upon knowing her true nature, he realized she wasn't what he thought and started pursuing Mamuang.
Everyone is doing well, causing Pimpitcha to feel guilty about what she did to her own mother and Eiam’s mother. Drunk and defying life, she blurts out the truth that she was the one who killed Eiam's mother. Anon immediately kicks her out of the house. He feels sad for not taking good care of his family, causing his only daughter to move out. Everything flips; Berry rises to become a top leading actress, ignoring Pa Kai and refusing to pay her share of the commissions as agreed. They fall out, so Berry eliminates Pa Kai from her path. Eiam is sued by "Channel Khun Jad" for breach of contract, causing Damrong's drama starring Eiam to halt filming. Adding to the misfortune, Pimpitcha is murdered, and Eiam is the suspect in this case. Everyone tries to help, but they are helpless against the evidence Berry displays, showing Eiam as the murderer. How will the intense story proceed? Will Watsachon's love be able to save Eiam from danger? Stay tuned for the drama Nakak Nang Ek (Mask of the Leading Lady), airing every Saturday-Sunday at 8:00 PM on Channel 1 Workpoint. The first episode airs on Saturday, January 9, 2016.
