Synopsis
Beautiful but mysterious... strong yet sweet. Craving love as much as revenge. When circumstances force a flower to become a tiger... she chooses to be a "Flower with Stripes."
In the fields of Bang Nam Don around the year 1933, the legend of Suea Sabai (Bandit Sabai), a female bandit leader, and her gang is spreading far and wide. Images of bandits galloping on horses, brandishing guns, and robbing and killing boldly and mercilessly have overwhelmed the authorities. One reason they remain elusive is that Suea Sabai’s gang often robs the rich and shares part of the wealth with the poor. This has earned them the complicity of the villagers, who help them evade the law to this day.
However, their latest exploit involves killing a wealthy man and leaving a red sabai (breast cloth) on the corpse as a signature. Although the victim was corrupt, having built his fortune on brothels and human trafficking, he was an ally of Kamnan Dech, an influential local figure, and Tao Kae Mong, the wealthiest merchant in the area. Unable to tolerate this, they coordinate with Luang Mahin, a high-ranking police officer from Bangkok known as the "Tiger Hunter" for suppressing bandits across the kingdom. Luang Mahin sends Khun Phichit, a young and energetic detective under his command, to the area.
Upon arrival, the handsome Khun Phichit is eager to start operations immediately. However, he is frustrated to find the local police force depleted, with most officers having resigned. He is forced to partner with Sergeant Cherd, a playful officer who doesn't seem capable of handling bandits at all.
That night, Kamnan Dech and Tao Kae Mong host a dinner to welcome Khun Phichit at the coffee shop owned by Ratree, Tao Kae Mong’s beautiful daughter. Pim, Kamnan Dech’s fashionable daughter, also rushes to join, attracted by Khun Phichit’s reputation as a handsome bachelor. But Khun Phichit ignores the women and the food, focusing entirely on gathering information about Suea Sabai. Everyone, including Sergeant Cherd, shares exaggerated tales. Kamnan Dech and Tao Kae Mong describe her as a demon, while Sergeant Cherd mentions rumors of her being a Robin Hood figure. Based on these stories, Khun Phichit imagines Suea Sabai as a giant, gruesome woman with sun-scorched skin and battle scars.
At the bandit camp, Suea Sabai looks at her childhood sabai before falling asleep. She has a recurring nightmare of the night her parents were brutally murdered by bandits. The only thing she remembers is a mystical tattoo on the wrist of the killer. She wakes up drenched in sweat, waiting for the day she can take revenge and finally sleep in peace.
Suea Sabai leads her gang on raids, always sharing the spoils with the poor, elderly, and sick. In return, the villagers protect her identity and hide her whereabouts from Khun Phichit. Every time she kills someone in a duel, besides leaving her red sabai, she checks their wrist for the tattoo she saw as a child, driven by vengeance.
Khun Phichit learns that the previous leader, Suea Khem, is dead and Suea Sabai is the new leader. He thinks the job will be easy, doubting a woman could be more skilled than him. However, investigation proves difficult as the bandits mask their faces, leaving Suea Sabai’s true appearance a mystery.
While hunting the bandit, Khun Phichit is also searching for a beautiful woman named Kamrai. Sergeant Cherd and Aunt Lamom notice him loitering near the stream where he first met her. They have met and talked several times, but she always vanishes without a trace, leaving him unable to find her home.
One day, Suea Sabai plans a major heist on Tao Kae Mong’s house. She goes into town to gather intelligence, accompanied by Kan. Sabai (disguised as Kamrai) runs into Khun Phichit at the coffee shop. She witnesses his gentlemanly nature and kindness towards the elderly and sick. Her admiration makes Kan jealous. Heartbroken that he will never win Sabai’s heart because she has feelings for the handsome officer, Kan gets drunk and is comforted by Sai Bua, leading to an intimate encounter between them.
Besides Sabai, Pim and Ratree also have their eyes on Khun Phichit. But when Sabai discovers that the handsome gentleman is actually the detective sent from Bangkok specifically to eliminate her, she tries to cut off her feelings. He is the first man to make her feel like a woman and awaken the sensitivity remaining in her heart.
Will the love story between the female bandit and the young policeman have a happy ending? What obstacles will stand in their way? And will she be able to exact the revenge she has sought all her life?
