Synopsis
Paran (nickname Tor) still vividly remembers the image from over ten years ago when Muthita, his mother and a former beauty queen of Amphawa, abandoned her family to be with Khun Ram Worawet, a wealthy tycoon in Bangkok. The image of his younger sister, Pandao, running and clinging to her mother’s legs, begging her not to leave, and the sight of Arthit, his father, dying of a heart attack in that very moment, are burned into Paran’s memory. Paran is filled with anger and hatred toward Muthita and Ram. Although Yamala tries to teach him forgiveness, Paran cannot let go. Deep in his heart, he vows that one day he will take revenge on Ram and Muthita.
In his childhood, a young girl named Noo Tun visited her grandmother Rabiab’s orchard home in Amphawa. One night, she sat crying alone by the canal. Paran found her and asked what was wrong. Noo Tun revealed that her father was about to remarry, despite promising her dying mother, Kanya, that he would never take another wife. Paran comforted her, taking her out on a boat to watch the fireflies. Before parting ways, Noo Tun gave Paran one of her teardrop earrings as a keepsake, keeping the other for herself. She promised that one day she would return so he could put the earring back on her, reuniting the pair. In return, Paran gave her a music box playing the song "Memory," telling her to listen to it whenever she felt lonely, as he would always be by her side. They promised to find each other again.
Years pass. Paran grows into a strong young man and becomes a Police Captain. He meets Mesa, the daughter of Wanchai (a wealthy friend of Ram). Mesa admires Paran for being a brave and gentlemanly officer, but Paran only sees her as a friend. Meanwhile, Pandao suffers from leukemia and requires blood transfusions every three months. Paran is in desperate need of money for her treatment. Coincidentally, Ram announces he is hiring a personal bodyguard for his only daughter, Lily, who is returning from America. Paran applies for the job under the alias "San," a former police officer. He meets Muthita again, but she doesn't recognize her own son at all. She has become a high-society wife, living in luxury and looking down on others.
Paran mistakenly believes that Lily is the daughter of Ram and Muthita—the child Muthita loves so much she hired a bodyguard for her. Paran plots to seek vengeance on Lily, even before seeing her face, believing that hurting her will drive Ram and Muthita insane with grief. When he finally sees Lily, he instantly dislikes her; she is beautiful but acts like a spicy, flirtatious socialite. Biased by the belief that she is Muthita's child, he compares Lily's comfortable life to Pandao's suffering.
However, as her bodyguard, Paran witnesses the conflict between Muthita and Lily. It is more than just mother-daughter bickering; there is a dark tension. Eventually, Paran discovers the truth: they are not related. Lily is Ram’s daughter from a previous marriage. When Muthita verbally abuses Lily, calling her a "motherless child," Lily retorts, asking how virtuous Muthita can be when she abandoned her own children to run off with a man. Lily’s words cut deep into Paran’s heart. Despite his hatred for his mother, he instinctively defends her, causing Lily to view "San" as an enemy.
Muthita, wanting to get rid of Lily, hires Chatchai to attack her. When Lily orders San to drive her to Amphawa to visit Grandma Rabiab, Paran receives a call that Pandao has gone into shock. He asks to postpone the trip, but Lily, jealous and assuming Pandao is merely San’s girlfriend, stubbornly refuses. She goes to Amphawa alone (with Chatchai following). After rushing Pandao to the hospital, San tries to call Lily, but she doesn't answer. Worried, he takes a shortcut to catch up. Chatchai ambushes Lily on a lonely road, but San arrives just in time to save her. He realizes his own mother hired the hitman. Confused and heartbroken, San protects Lily with his life, making Lily realize his concern goes far beyond the duty of a bodyguard.
San takes Lily to hide in a small orchard in Amphawa. There, he sees a new side of her—an innocent, natural girl, completely different from the "spicy" socialite named Lucy. San is reminded of Noo Tun because Lily loves watching fireflies, while Lily is reminded of "P'Tor" because he used to take her to see them. Lily thanks him for saving her life. Although San pretends it was just his duty, he secretly feels a deep bond growing. Hatred begins to turn into love.
What will happen next? Will they realize that they are the "P'Tor" and "Noo Tun" from their childhood memories?
