Synopsis

Plerng Tawan (The Fire of the Sun)

Thongthai (Es Kantapong) is driving his pickup truck back to his sunflower farm, Rai Kiang Tawan. During a petrol stop, he notices something suspicious in the truck bed. To his shock, he finds an unconscious young woman covered in blood. He rushes her to the nearest hospital, where the doctor delivers grim news: she has suffered a miscarriage and a severe concussion. She is in critical condition, hovering between life and death.
Confused, Thongthai wonders how she ended up in his truck and who attacked her. His mother, Mae Nuan (Piyamart Manyakul), suggests reporting it to the police to find her relatives. However, Thongthai disagrees; he wants to monitor her recovery quietly, fearing that going public might put her in danger from whoever hunted her down. Mae Nuan eventually agrees.

The Miracle at Rai Kiang Tawan

For days, the woman remains in a coma, kept alive by a ventilator. Just as the family and doctors begin to lose hope and consider letting her go, a miracle occurs. While Thongthai holds her hand to ask for forgiveness (A-ho-si-kam), she suddenly wakes up. The first person she sees is Thongthai, and she clings to him, sobbing in terror.
The mysterious woman has lost all her memories. She cannot speak, walk, or even perform basic tasks like eating. Taking pity on her, Mae Nuan decides to take her home and care for her rather than sending her to a shelter, especially since the girl trusts no one but Thongthai.
At the farm, Mae Nuan and a local girl named Jajaa (Natyakant Pakwan) care for her. Jajaa is disgusted by the nursing duties but stays because she is in love with Thongthai and hopes he will eventually notice her. Thongthai spends every evening wheeling the woman through the vast sunflower fields. One day, she utters her first word: "Tawan" (Sun). From then on, Thongthai names her Tawan (Stephany Auernig).
Tawan flourishes under Mae Nuan’s gentle guidance. She relearns how to cook, speak, and carry herself with grace. She transforms into a beautiful, sweet-natured woman who becomes like a daughter to Mae Nuan. Thongthai, watching her growth, realizes he has fallen deeply in love with her.

Shadows of the Past

The peace is threatened by Sia Moo, a greedy landlord who wants to buy Rai Kiang Tawan to flip the land for profit. His aggressive henchman, Jom, becomes obsessed with Tawan and tries to kidnap or assault her several times, though she narrowly escapes each time.
During the Songkran festival, Tawan surprises everyone with her skill at Thai desserts, making Jajaa jealous. Later that night at a temple fair, Thongthai is baffled when Tawan proves to be an expert at carnival shooting games. As she holds a toy gun, a flash of memory returns—a feeling of familiarity and a strange longing for a real weapon.
Driven by jealousy, Jajaa eventually lures Tawan into a trap set by Jom. Tawan goes missing, and the farm is thrown into chaos. When they finally find her, she is unconscious with signs of a struggle but has not been sexually assaulted. Jom, however, mysteriously disappears. After this event, Tawan begins to have violent nightmares where she sees herself with fierce, aggressive eyes.

The Reveal in Bangkok

Thongthai decides to marry Tawan. He contacts an old friend, View (Kratip Chawalkon), a fashion designer in Bangkok, to design the wedding dress. When Tawan arrives in the city, she is mesmerized by the lights.
At View's boutique, Thongthai sees a wedding photo on the wall. The woman in the photo is identical to Tawan. View explains that the woman is Prangthong, a famous high-society socialite married to Nanthawat (Asadawut Luangsuntorn), a billionaire heir. Upon seeing the photo, Tawan suffers a massive seizure from the shock of the visual trigger and is rushed to the hospital.
News of Tawan's whereabouts reaches her mother, Plew, after Jajaa posts "Missing Person" flyers to get rid of her. Plew rushes to the farm, but Tawan—still suffering from amnesia—is terrified of her. Plew realizes Tawan is happy and safe at the farm and decides to let her stay there for a while to adjust.

The Return to the Lion’s Den

Thongthai learns from View that the "real" Prangthong was a fierce, high-maintenance socialite whose marriage was failing because her in-laws hated her. Suspecting that her own family might have tried to kill her, Thongthai decides to use a high-profile jewelry gala to "re-introduce" Prangthong to society. He believes the media presence will act as a shield, making it harder for her enemies to kill her.
At the gala, Nanthawat is overjoyed to find his wife. He asks her to return home. Tawan (Prangthong) agrees, but only if Thongthai comes with her as her "protector."
Inside the Nanthawat mansion, Prangthong faces a cold reception:
  • Nantha: Her mother-in-law, who constantly insults her.
  • Nanthana: Nanthawat’s ill-tempered sister.
  • Mayurin: Nanthawat’s new love interest, who gracefully steps back to become a friend when Prangthong returns.
  • Wathana: Nanthawat’s paralyzed father, who reacts with pure terror whenever Prangthong enters the room.

The Final Mystery

As Prangthong stays in the mansion, her "sweet Tawan" persona begins to fade, replaced by the hardened, aggressive personality of the original Prangthong. Back at the farm, Jom’s body is found in a well, murdered. Thongthai is heartbroken, realizing the innocent woman he loved is disappearing into a dark past.
Before she leaves him forever, Thongthai and Tawan spend one final, intimate night together. But the mystery remains:
  • Who tried to kill her and caused her miscarriage?
  • Who killed Jom?
  • What dark secret does she hold that makes her father-in-law tremble in fear?
Tawan must now choose between her life as a simple farmer's wife or reclaiming her throne as the dangerous Prangthong to uncover the truth.
