Synopsis
Sing Sayam and Rimping first meet by chance during an incident where Sing is undercover on a mission to catch a criminal. However, the plan fails due to Rimping's well-intentioned interference. This causes Sing to remember Rimping vividly—a mix of being impressed and annoyed at the same time.
After Rimping has an argument with Maneechan, her mother, she moves out to live with Cat. Luckily, Cat helps find freelance Costume work for her, allowing Rimping to earn an income without having to ask her mother for money. Besides Cat, her best friend, Rimping is also close to Guy, close enough to be considered her boyfriend. Unbeknownst to her, Guy and Cat are secretly having an affair until Cat becomes pregnant with his child. Rimping takes care of Cat in every way possible; the better Rimping treats her, the guiltier Cat feels about her betrayal.
Sing wants to be a police officer because of a traumatic past involving his biological parents being shot dead. He tries to investigate his own history, though Manop, his adoptive father, rarely approves. However, Sing’s persistence pays off, and he eventually gets to work on investigations as a spy. Sing recruits Lerdrit to help whenever disguises are needed. Lerdrit loves this kind of work and enjoys disguising himself as a beautiful makeup artist on film sets, where he meets Rimping and discovers they live in the same condo.
Chaos ensues when Mednoon, a junior friend from Chiang Khan, sees Lerdrit dressed as a woman and gossips to everyone in the village—including Wan-jai, Niam, Lamun, Lamai, Fongfa, Num, Can, Koon, Na Khuat, Ta Tui, Pong, Mr. Robert, and especially the gossip trio Somsuan, Kimjo, and Wanwan. This makes Father Tim suspicious, but he is relieved when Lerdrit explains he is on a secret police mission.
Guy earns money by delivering illegal goods for Sia Leng. He seems lucky enough to survive every run until Cat gives birth. Driven by greed, Guy steals a multi-million baht amulet from Sia Leng, hiding the real one inside a doll he sewed himself, and tells Cat to keep it for their newborn son.
Heartbroken that Guy refuses to take responsibility for her and the baby, Cat decides to abandon the child, leaving a letter and the doll Guy made for Rimping. Rimping reads the letter in shock and decides to take the baby to Maneechan, hoping her mother will help raise him. However, she is met with misunderstanding and harsh words. Rimping leaves the house in tears with the baby.
Luckily, Guy arrives to pick her up. As the car is leaving, a well-meaning maid runs out and hands Rimping an envelope containing her savings. On the way, they run into Sia Leng and his henchmen. Sia Leng shoots Guy in front of Rimping and attempts to kill her to silence the witness. Fortunately, the police arrive just in time to save her.
After surviving the attack, Rimping meets Sing Sayam again. Sing misunderstands and thinks the baby belongs to Rimping and Guy. Duty-bound, he must protect this key witness. However, after an argument, Rimping flees with the child. She notices the envelope the maid gave her has the address of Grandma Obechan, a grandmother she loves but hasn't seen in over 20 years. Rimping decides to head to Chiang Mai immediately, unaware that the envelope actually contained her grandmother's death certificate. She travels with high hopes of meeting the one person who loves and understands her most.
Sing Sayam is scolded by Manop for failing to watch the woman and is ordered to follow and protect her at all costs. Sing learns from Maneechan about Grandma Obechan and realizes Rimping is heading there. Sing rushes to meet Lerdrit, and they race to arrive before her.
When Rimping arrives at the house in Chiang Mai, she is overjoyed to see "Grandma Obechan" sitting inside. Old memories flood back, and Rimping hugs her grandmother, crying with relief. Sing, disguised as Grandma Obe, feels awkward having to act affectionate, but Lerdrit signals him to play along smoothly or the plan will fail. Sing forces himself to become the warm, loving grandmother.
Rimping tells "Grandma" that the baby is hers. She reasons that claiming the child is her own is easier than explaining the complicated truth, and she has already grown to love and bond with the boy.
Soon, they have to flee from pursuers again. Lerdrit suggests hiding in his hometown, Chiang Khan. At Chiang Khan, Rimping finds friendship among the villagers. Grandma Obe names the baby Lam Khong. While living there, Sing has to switch back and forth between his real self and the Grandma Obe disguise to investigate. He meets Nubdao, a childhood friend he had lost touch with, and uses the opportunity to ask about his own childhood.
Sing’s closeness with Nubdao makes Rimping jealous, and she frequently complains about it to Grandma Obe. Trying not to overthink it, Rimping focuses on work and gets an idea to adapt local fabrics for fashion. She gets on TV, becoming famous—but this fame brings danger back to her doorstep. Sia Leng sends henchmen to track her down again.
Will anyone discover the important item hidden inside the problematic doll? How long can Sing endure switching disguises back and forth? What will Rimping do if the truth is revealed? Will Sing uncover his past, and can he accept the truth when it comes to light?
Join the excitement and root for the mission of the "Impromptu Mom" (Rimping) and the attempt to be the "Ad-hoc Grandma" (Sing Sayam), along with the hilarity of the eccentric people around them.
