Synopsis

The story follows a young girl named Kungnang (Pinky Savika), who has a natural talent for singing Luk Thung (Thai country music). However, her mother, Kaewta (Sirintra Niyakorn), strictly forbids her from singing Luk Thung, without ever revealing the real reason. One day, Kungnang's mother falls severely ill. Needing money for her mother's medical treatment, Kungnang enters a Luk Thung singing contest. She only wins the runner-up position, meaning the prize money isn't enough to cover the medical bills. Even with financial help from Kru Chatree (Surachai Sombatcharoen), a renowned music teacher who loves Kungnang's voice and sees her potential as a singer, Kungnang is unable to save her mother's life.
Before passing away, her mother finally explains why she never allowed Kungnang to sing: her own desire to become a singer led to a past mistake, resulting in her pregnancy with Kungnang. Kaewta had a painful past related to singing and was left heartbroken by Kungnang's father, who was a songwriter, though no one knew the full details. Just before taking her last breath, her mother hands Kungnang a sheet of music titled "Kaewta," written by her father.
Kungnang decides to follow her dreams and heads to the capital city to search for her biological father. She is accompanied by her childhood best friends, Karn (Kung Suthirat) and Cha-aim (Pui Rungtiwa). With the help of Duang (Yingyong Yodbuangam), Karn's older cousin, she eventually gets the chance to sing at "Siam Song," a giant Luk Thung record label owned by Jaran (Moo Kolas). There, she forms good friendships with Kob (Kratae Rsiam), a rookie singer; Jae Oung (Apaporn Nakornsawan), the wardrobe manager; and Kiet (Kratai Rsiam), Jae Oung's assistant.
Throughout her journey, Kungnang must overcome numerous obstacles. She meets Jirayu (Fluke C-Quint), the son of the label's owner, who dreams of becoming a songwriter, even though Jaran wants Jirayu to take over the family business instead. Jirayu secretly supports Kungnang all the time. However, Kungnang's path to success and love is not smooth, as the label's number one female star, Chamada (Pei Panward), constantly tries to sabotage the rising star in both her career and her love life.
Chamada is promoting a duet album with Nateethong (X Jaturong), a famous veteran singer. Nateethong is especially fond of Kungnang and treats her with great affection, which makes Jirayu jealous and leads him to misunderstand Kungnang. Kungnang herself strongly believes that Nateethong might actually be her father.
Meanwhile, Siam Song's rival label, Best Music, sends in Fah (Natalie Davis)—the daughter of wealthy businessman Sia Ah and a rookie singer herself—to stir up trouble. Fah hopes to snatch Jirayu and dominate the industry. She is aided by Komkrit (Touch Na Takuatung), a mole inside Siam Song who is bitter and resentful that Jaran is handing the company over to Jirayu instead of him, despite his many years of loyal service.
In the end, will Kungnang be able to achieve her dreams and find her true biological father? Follow her story in the drama Rachinee Lookthung (Queen of Luk Thung).
