Synopsis
Thanin Lertchaiwat (Santisuk Promsiri) was forced to marry Angkana (Sinjai Plengpanich) to save his family's financial status. Together, they have a son, Chanasuek (Tanatat Chaiyaat), and a daughter, Chanoknan (Rujipas Kokiat). However, Thanin is completely unhappy because Angkana's personality and lifestyle are the exact opposite of his. For over twenty years, Thanin has remained deeply attached to his former lover, from whom he was separated due to their class differences.
Phannee (Mayurin Pongpudpun) has a son, Phetthae (Chaiyapol Julien Poupart), and a daughter, Phinthong (Temfah Krisanayuth). The children's father passed away a long time ago, leaving the mother and her two children to struggle to make ends meet. Despite their poverty, the deep love they share keeps Phannee's family full of happiness. They also have Aunt Sam-ang (Wiyada Umarin) and Phueng (Passakorn Ponlaboon) as neighbors who are always there to help them in times of trouble.
Phinthong gets a job at Thanin's company. She makes an unintentional mistake and is subsequently fired by Chanasuek. However, when Thanin sees Phinthong's resume, he hires her back and even promotes her. This upsets Chanasuek and makes Rueangroj (Anattapol Sirichumsaeng), Thanin's personal secretary, highly suspicious.
Rueangroj reports the situation regarding Phinthong to Angkana. Misunderstanding that Thanin is having a romantic affair with Phinthong, Angkana goes to harass her at her home. Chanasuek steps in to protect Phinthong out of pity. Ultimately, it is revealed that the real reason Thanin secretly helped Phinthong is because her mother, Phannee, is the old love that Thanin still loves with all his heart. This revelation makes Angkana even more vengeful.
Angkana retaliates against Phannee by framing Phetthae for a crime. Phetthae is hunted by the police, forcing Phannee's family to flee desperately. Meanwhile, Phinthong has to try to suppress her feelings for Chanasuek, no matter how much she loves him. When Thanin discovers that Angkana is the mastermind behind this, he is furious and demands a divorce, but Angkana refuses.
The immense stress causes Thanin's terminal colon cancer to worsen. He suffers in agony but refuses to tell anyone that he is dying. With no other way to save Phetthae, Phannee goes to Thanin and confesses the truth: Phetthae is actually his biological son. Thanin then begs Chanasuek to help clear Phetthae's name, revealing that Phetthae is his half-brother. Chanasuek is shocked but agrees to help.
Phetthae is cleared of the charges and finally learns the whole truth. However, out of anger and resentment, he refuses to accept Thanin as his father. Knowing his time is running out, Thanin decides to write a will to share his inheritance with Phetthae. Angkana finds out about everything. Consumed by vengeance, she teams up with Rueangroj to plot Thanin's murder and frame Phetthae for the crime.
Thanin tragically dies in a fire, and Phetthae is accused of murdering him to seize the inheritance. Will Phannee and Phinthong find a way to help Phetthae? And how will Chanasuek uncover the truth about Angkana's sheer wickedness? Follow the story in the drama Buang Ruk (Snare of Love), airing every Monday to Thursday at 20:25 on Channel 5. Buang Ruk premieres on Tuesday, October 30, 2012.
