Synopsis

The Great Flood of 2011 caused widespread devastation everywhere. Gor (Pong Nawat), a playboy who owns a famous pub in the Rangsit area, becomes a flood victim himself. Furthermore, he has to flee from both the floodwaters and a massive debt. Therefore, he returns to seek help from Kla (Pisan Akaraseranee), his father.
However, when he arrives at the seaside house in Rayong province, Gor is surprised to find that his father is not there. Instead, he meets Woon (Vill Wannarot), an outspoken young woman who claims to be his father's caretaker. She tells Gor that Uncle Kla has been missing since the day he had his last phone argument with Gor. For this reason, Woon blames Gor for his disappearance. But Gor doesn't believe his father is truly missing, because in the past, his father often schemed just to get Gor to come back and live with him.
Gor opens his father's safe to take money to pay off his debts, but all he finds is a will stating that all assets are to be given solely to Woon. If Gor wants the inheritance, the two of them must get married. This only makes Gor more certain that this is just another one of his father's plots.
As days go by, Woon becomes increasingly worried about Uncle Kla. She goes out to search for him, always assisted by Tun (Navin Tar), a geologist and boat rental business owner. One day, Yuan (Nut Devahastin Na Ayudhaya), who is both Gor's close friend and creditor, calls to demand his money. Since Gor has no money to pay him, Yuan decides to collect "interest" by bringing his entire family to evacuate from the flood and stay at the house. This includes Ah Ma (Sininat Pothiwes), who spends all day sitting in front of the TV watching flood news; Ya (Grace The Star), his materialistic younger sister; and Bonus (May Rujipas), a cousin obsessed with celebrities.
Due to Yuan's stingy nature, he quickly clashes with the "queen of stinginess," Priew (Fang Pitchaya), Woon's friend whose business was damaged by the flood, forcing her to return to her hometown to regroup. With both Yuan and Priew being equally frugal and tough, they quickly become bitter rivals who constantly bicker.
Because of the high-maintenance behavior of these city folks, Tok (Jubjib Chernyim), the caretaker of Tun's shop, and Dokmai (Noi Ounruen), a naive beachside masseuse, get annoyed and frequently find ways to prank Yuan's family. Then, the unexpected happens when the police find Uncle Kla's shirt floating in the middle of the sea, leading them to presume that he is dead. Gor is completely shocked upon hearing the news! Seeing Woon's deep sorrow makes Gor feel guilty for having falsely accused and picked fights with her all along. Through their shared grief, the two bond and begin to develop feelings for each other.
Not long after, Baby (Pei Panward), Gor's girlfriend whose house was also flooded, escapes the water and asks to stay with them. This causes Woon to misunderstand, thinking Gor has tricked her into loving him. Gor tries to explain to Woon that he and Baby broke up a long time ago. Baby overhears this and realizes that Gor and Woon have feelings for each other.
Angry, Baby is about to pack her bags and leave the house when she accidentally finds Uncle Kla's will. Baby assumes that Gor only likes Woon because he wants the seaside house. So, Baby confronts Gor about it, deliberately making sure Woon finds out about the will too. Woon concludes that Gor has only been nice to her to get the house. Heartbroken, Woon decides to tell Gor that she will not marry him and will instead sell the house to donate the money to flood victims, honoring Uncle Kla's original wishes.
Baby tries to instigate Gor to claim his rights as the owner's son and not let Woon sell the house, but Gor refuses to comply. Baby then shamelessly goes to confront Woon herself. When Woon refuses to listen, Baby becomes furious and accidentally attacks Woon, knocking her unconscious. Thinking Woon is dead, Baby dumps her body on the beach. However, Baby's plan fails because Gor arrives in time to save Woon's life. Afraid of getting caught, Baby pins the blame on Gor, claiming the whole murder plot was his idea. Deeply hurt, Woon decides to write a letter transferring the ownership of the house back to Gor. When Gor receives the letter, he is puzzled as to why Woon would suddenly surrender everything to him.
Tun tells Gor that he is the root cause of all the terrible things happening to Woon. Gor insists he didn't hurt Woon and tries to uncover the truth, eventually discovering that Baby was the one who attacked her. Feeling guilty, Gor sets out to find Woon, but no matter how hard he searches, he cannot find her.
In the end, will Gor be able to find Woon? How will this love story amidst the Great Flood conclude? Tune in to watch the drama Nam Kuen Hai Reeb Rak (When the Water Rises, Hurry Up and Love), airing every Monday to Thursday at 8:25 PM on Channel 5.
