Synopsis

Ting, the village undertaker, has been living with Nuan Sawat for many years, but they have never been able to have a child of their own. One day, while Ting is gathering lotus flowers by the swamp to offer to the monks, the unexpected happens. He encounters a woman fleeing from pursuers. She shoves the infant in her arms to him and runs away without a single word. Anxious, Ting waits in hopes that the mother will return for her child, but she never shows up. Eventually, Ting moves away, taking the baby with him.
After Ting and Nuan adopt and raise Bua Bucha as their own, Nuan soon gives birth to Sabai Nang (often teased as the "jealous baby" who decided to come along). Twenty years later, Bua has grown into a beautiful, kind-hearted young woman. After graduating from university, she applies for several jobs but receives no callbacks. To help support her family, she spends her time helping Nuan sell made-to-order meals and works as a stuntwoman in action films and TV dramas.
Although Ting is officially the village undertaker, he is essentially the town's jack-of-all-trades. Whenever anyone is in trouble or needs help, they think of Ting first, which eventually lands him a job as a rescue worker for Hia Pheng. Bua inherits Ting’s selfless and generous nature flawlessly. She constantly tags along with him to help the locals—whether it's catching snakes or crocodiles, clearing drains, laying bricks, collecting bodies, or even delivering babies. This is in stark contrast to Sabai, who is vain, avoids hard work, and just wants to have fun like a typical teenager.
Struck by a new idea, Bua recruits her friends, Koi and Ja, to do good deeds by forming an all-female rescue squad. Donning sweet, bright pink uniforms, they patrol the area to help those in need. Everyone is eager to join in, but the person stressing over it the most is Ting. As their designated driver, he is forced to match their overly sweet aesthetic in both spirit and attire. Korn, a local reporter, is intrigued by the group's quirkiness and decides to cover their story. As a result, the "Sweet Pink Rescue Squad" gains fame and public recognition. Developing romantic feelings for Bua, Korn even agrees to put on a pink uniform and hop into the back of their pickup truck as a part of the team.
As she continues her rescue work, Bua begins to notice something unusual about herself: she seems to be able to communicate with the dead. A series of events confirms her belief that she genuinely possesses a sixth sense to interact with spirits. Her abilities allow her to uncover the true causes behind various deaths. It sounds like it would make her job easier, but that is far from the truth! Bua constantly finds herself clashing with Inspector Sawasdee, a skeptical detective who refuses to believe in ghosts. Their encounters frequently spark debates, pitting the supernatural against science.
Late one night, while retrieving the body of a foreign migrant woman, Bua spots Nong Pee, an adorable 9-year-old boy with sad eyes, sitting all by himself. When she approaches him, she learns that he has been separated from his mother for days. With nowhere else to go, he asks to tag along with her. Bua is hesitant, fearing she might be accused of kidnapping, but sensing his honesty, she reluctantly brings him along with the intention of reuniting him with his family immediately. To her absolute shock, Bua discovers that she is the only person who can see and communicate with Nong Pee. Having promised to help him find his way home, she must see her mission through without telling a soul.
Meanwhile, a rival "Boyband" rescue team with a Korean-pop aesthetic emerges, led by Chuchai, a friend around Ting's age. Chuchai spices things up by recruiting handsome teens like Nammon, Bank, Ik, and even Duat. Fully decked out in stylish hair and outfits, this volunteer crew brings utter chaos to the field, as the boys and the girls' teams constantly bicker over trivial matters.
Elsewhere, a woman named Nantha becomes firmly convinced that Bua is her long-lost daughter, but she needs Ting to confirm it. However, circumstances constantly cause the two of them to miss each other. When Ting finally realizes that Nantha is indeed the woman who handed him the baby over 20 years ago, he becomes fiercely protective of Bua. He actively dodges Nantha and even considers moving away to keep them apart.
The recurring deaths of foreign migrant women lead Inspector Sawasdee to suspect a man named Ongsa. With Bua using her ability to communicate with the victims' spirits, they manage to find clues pointing to the culprit. However, the situation is far from straightforward. Karat, the secretary of a powerful man named Thamrong, appears to be a quiet and plain woman on the outside, but she is actually the mastermind behind the chaos and continuously obstructs the police investigation.
Later on, as Karat develops a deep, secret relationship with Ongsa, she begins to make mistakes. This slip-up links the murder cases directly to Thamrong, a primary target the police have been investigating. The trail of the subordinate's death eventually leads the authorities to search for evidence at Nantha's house—the very place where Bua's biological mother lives, and where Nong Pee's physical body currently lies in a comatose state.
How will the deeply rooted bond between a mother and her daughter conclude? Will Bua Bucha be able to use her sixth sense to save her biological mother from Thamrong's wrath? How will the bickering romance between the tough inspector and the pink-clad rescue worker unfold, and where will the clash between the supernatural and science finally settle? Koo Pai Hua Jai Waew (Sweet Rescue) has the answers.
Catch the drama Koo Pai Hua Jai Waew every day from 6:45 PM to 7:45 PM on Channel 7. The series premieres its first episode on Sunday, September 30, 2012.
