Synopsis
Khai Luk Koei (The Son-in-Law's Egg):
The story takes place in Kraton Wan District during the Egg Festival and the "Peeled Egg Beauty Pageant." Just as Governor Prajak steps onto the stage to announce the awards, gunshots ring out. Terrorists cause massive chaos among the attendees. The Governor and his wife, Madam Pringprao, are forced to hide under a chicken coop, getting their clothes completely soiled. Meanwhile, their daughter, Rojana, runs off and encounters the criminals. She uses her black-belt judo skills to fight them, but overwhelmed by their numbers, she is dragged into the forest.
Suddenly, a man dressed in black wearing a Black Fox mask appears. He rescues Rojana and helps the villagers fight off the terrorists until they retreat. Rojana runs to hide in a lotus pond, only to be startled by a local madman named Tuan. Seeing her scream, Tuan makes funny faces to tease her. She tries to use her judo on him, but Tuan effortlessly dodges her attacks and cheerfully sings and dances around her.
Later, reporters swarm the Governor about the chaos. Not knowing how to answer, the Governor flees home with his beloved wife, Madam Pringprao, whose daily obsession is finding a suitable husband for their daughter. Because Rojana is highly capable and thinks she is good at everything, it is hard for her to find a match. Madam Pringprao, however, values wealth and favors Yongsak, the son of Sia Olan, the richest millionaire in the province. Sia Olan desperately wants Rojana as a daughter-in-law to serve as political backing for his illicit businesses. Annoyed by Yongsak's advances, Rojana often escapes to see her best friend, a teacher named Kanda. But deep down, Rojana is secretly searching for the heroic man in black.
Tuan is the son of Village Headman Thong. He was once a brilliant student but allegedly studied so hard that he lost his mind, spending his days acting crazy. Rojana gets incredibly annoyed every time she sees him. She is determined to uncover the influential figures backing the local terrorists, but her investigations are constantly derailed by Tuan's crazy antics.
In Kraton Wan village, Sia Olan's farm is managed by Huat, a fertilizer shop owner. Hidden in the center of the farm is a massive illegal marijuana plantation. The big secret is that Tuan is not actually crazy! He is Mr. Tuanton Thammasorn, the new District Deputy who graduated from abroad. He is only pretending to be a madman to secretly investigate the crimes in the district. His close friend Chatree—the son of the local lay minister—knows the truth. Chatree is actually an undercover police officer. Furthermore, the Governor secretly assigned Tuan to keep a close watch on Rojana, which is why she constantly bumps into him.
One day, Rojana sneaks into Olan's farm and is almost caught by Huat's men. Tuan, disguised as the Black Fox, comes to her rescue. The two escape and hide in an abandoned hut, where they fall asleep holding each other. When she wakes up, the Black Fox is gone, and only the "crazy" Tuan is there. The villagers find them and quickly spread rumors that they slept together. To save her reputation, the Governor hastily arranges a wedding for them. Kanda is heartbroken, as she secretly had feelings for Tuan, but Chatree uses this opportunity to comfort her, sparking a new romance between them.
At Tuan's house, Headman Thong and Tuan's younger sister, Paew, are thrilled to have the Governor's daughter as an in-law and pamper her so she won't have to work. However, Rojana stubbornly tries to do household chores but realizes she doesn't know how. She pushes herself so hard that she falls ill. Tuan tenderly cares for her, causing Rojana to develop real feelings for him and realize that she isn't perfect at everything after all.
Wanting to test her heart, Tuan visits her dressed as the Black Fox. Rojana confesses to the masked hero that she doesn't love Tuan and only married him because of her father's orders. Disappointed, Tuan begins to act distant and cold toward her. His sudden change in behavior makes Rojana feel incredibly empty. Could she have actually fallen in love with the madman?
