Synopsis
Trat Wiphakayothin (Shahkrit Yamnam) returns to Thailand to attend the funeral of his father, Trai Wiphakayothin. He had previously severed ties with his father because of Bongkot Wiphakayothin (Piyathida Woramusik), a woman from the streets whom his father took as a new wife to replace his mother. Driven by pride and stubbornness, Trat refuses to have anything to do with his father's business or inheritance.
Trat has a girlfriend, Chalothorn Leelathip (Sirilak Pongchoke), whom he has been dating since they studied together in the United States. Chalothorn works at the Wiphakayothin family's company. Knowing that Trat is the sole heir to the entire enterprise, she hopes to marry him.
Meanwhile, Phichit Phichitsoradet (Ratthasart Korrasud), a company partner and a notorious playboy, wants to take over the company for himself. He pulls Chalothorn over to his side by offering to keep her true background a secret, which forces Chalothorn to follow all of his orders. In reality, Chalothorn is just a girl from the slums, not a high-society lady. She has a mother, Puang (Duangta Tungkamanee), who sells curry rice in an alley, and a younger sister named Chalathorn (Aerin Yuktadatta). Chalothorn abandoned her mother and sister to reinvent her image abroad.
Raksa Thammarat (Santisuk Promsiri), the Wiphakayothin family lawyer, tries to explain to Trat why Bongkot wants him to return and manage the business, fulfilling Trai's dying wish. However, Trat refuses and declares that he will never set foot in the Wiphakayothin mansion. Bongkot is determined to do whatever it takes to win Trat over, hoping that one day he will forgive her.
Bongkot organizes a welcome party for Trat and tells her niece, Phakaikun or "Kang" (Wannarot Sonthichai), to prepare for the event. Kang knows that Bongkot's stepson has always been cruel and unfair to her aunt, so she holds a strong prejudice against him and has no desire to be nice to Trat.
One day, however, Trat rescues Kang from being sexually harassed. Since neither knows the other's true identity, Kang is deeply impressed by Trat's gentlemanly demeanor—so much so that she forgets to ask his name. Mattana (Chanidapa Pongsilpipat), Kang's tomboyish best friend, nicknames the mysterious hero "Superman."
After that incident, Trat and Kang frequently run into each other. This displeases Warin (Supakit Buangam), Raksa's son, who secretly has a crush on Kang. Ultimately, Warin has to back down when he discovers the truth: Kang's "Superman" is none other than Trat Wiphakayothin.
Through Bongkot's arrangements, Trat and Kang finally meet officially, and Trat discovers that Kang is actually Phakaikun, Bongkot's niece. Trat misunderstands, believing that Kang has been conspiring with Bongkot to deceive him all along. Fueled by vengeance, Trat announces that he will return to work at the Wiphakayothin company, but on one condition: Kang must work closely with him.
How will Trat's hatred and anger toward Kang unfold? Follow the story in the drama "Talad Arom" (Market of Emotions), airing every Monday to Thursday at 8:25 PM on Channel 5. The first episode premieres this Thursday, March 3rd.
