Synopsis
Ponrob (Wittaya Wasukraipaisan), a young man who studied abroad, has to return home to run the family business, leaving him unable to use the degree and skills he acquired. This is because his mother, Mrs. Srijan (Duangta Tungkamanee), runs a chili paste business called "Mae Srijan Chili Paste." It is the largest chili paste business in Suphan Buri, famous for its signature fermented fish chili paste (Nam Phrik Pla Ra).
Her bitter rival is Mrs. Kimkee (Yanee Jongwisut), the queen of Thai snacks nicknamed "Kimkee Curry Puff," who also has a famously delicious signature black pepper chicken curry puff. Whenever these two women cross paths, chaos inevitably ensues because neither is willing to back down. The root of this conflict dates back to when they used to be best friends. Their friendship shattered because they both fell in love with and fought over an action movie star named Rachan (Kerk Chiller). Ultimately, the actor mysteriously disappeared, causing the two women to blame each other for driving him away. They cut ties completely and have been sworn enemies ever since.
The people who constantly have to step in and stop them from brawling are none other than their husbands and children: Mr. Udon (Montri Janeaksorn), Mrs. Srijan's husband, and Sia Sombat (Krit Atthaseri), Mrs. Kimkee's husband.
This also includes Mrs. Kimkee's daughter, Meilin or Mei (Napapa Tantrakul). When Ponrob meets Mei again, he is completely stunned by her beauty, as she has transformed drastically from the chubby, tomboyish little girl she used to be in the past. Working together frequently to break up their mothers' fights brings the two of them closer, and their relationship eventually blossoms into love.
However, they face a massive obstacle: their mothers absolutely refuse to let them date. Despite this, the couple receives help from Chai (Pisan Srimankong), Mei's older brother; Yokthap (Simon Kessler), Ponrob's younger brother; as well as Mei's friends, Manao (Jeeranan Preedakul) and Fonraek (Wimonlak Jongrattanasethakul).
The situation escalates when Kimkee forces Mei into an arranged marriage with Krongtham (Supoj Chancharoen), the son of an old aristocratic family.
How will their love story unfold? Follow the chaotic and hilarious events in the drama "Mae Pua Taban Fai, Mae Yai Talai Plerng" (Fiery Mother-in-Law, Explosive Mother-in-Law).
