Synopsis

"Hor... Heu Heu" (The Haunted Dormitory) tells the chaotic life story of Nammon (Nattaraht), a handsome young man who is fascinated by ghost stories and the occult, yet is scared of ghosts to his very core. After failing his university entrance exams, he enrolls in a private university in the provinces along with a new group of friends. Their lives become deeply intertwined as they step into their freshman year and experience dorm life, completely unaware of the hair-raising, spooky events about to unfold in "Hor Heu Heu".
On his first day of university life, Nammon meets Sawitree (Jomkwan), a cute and kind-hearted girl. However, they instantly become rivals during the freshman welcoming activities, with neither willing to back down. Deep down, Nammon actually fell for Sawitree at first sight, but he expresses the exact opposite by constantly being sarcastic and picking fights with her. Everyone ends up living in the same university dormitory. There, they meet Chaitong (Worarit), a 7th-year senior who just can't seem to graduate, and Ladda (Isariya), a woman who wears thick-framed glasses, dresses plainly, and is incredibly clumsy. Ladda has been secretly in love with Chaitong since her freshman year and has even returned to the university as a lecturer just to be close to him.
Nammon has to share a room with Kampoon (Surinton), a poor country boy who is terrified of ghosts but possesses a sixth sense that allows him to see them both day and night. Meanwhile, Sawitree shares her room with her two best friends, Ann and Joy. Boriboon (Chalermpon), a spoiled, wealthy kid who likes to look down on and bully others, rooms with Yindee (Jakkapan). Yindee has to take care of Boriboon's every need because Boriboon’s father pays for Yindee's tuition and wages to look after his son, making Yindee act as Boriboon's eternal lackey.
This cute, romantic, and lively college life would have gone perfectly fine if not for Mr. Prasom (Somchai), a middle-aged man working as the university's janitor. On the outside, Prasom seems like a well-mannered, polite, hardworking, and trustworthy guy, though he has a quirky habit of secretly chewing betel nuts, making his mouth red. However, when night falls, he becomes a completely different person. He locks himself in a room to perform dark magic rituals, summoning and commanding evil spirits to do his bidding. Dozens of ghosts emerge under his control, including a traditional Thai dancer ghost, a nurse ghost, a soldier ghost, a boastful teen ghost, a widow ghost, a ghoul, a water spirit, a gay ghost, a transgender ghost, a grandfather ghost, a child ghost, a senior student ghost, a tree nymph, a jackfruit tree ghost, a cute ghost, a vampire, a Krasue (floating head ghost), a flying ghost, a headless ghost, victims of violent deaths, hollow-eyed ghosts, sea ghosts, doctor ghosts, and the most abundant of all—patient ghosts. Prasom is highly satisfied because this diverse army of ghosts ensures his mission will succeed. His goal is to use them to haunt the students and professors until no one can stand living there, forcing everyone to leave the university. Prasom was hired by a wealthy capitalist who wants the university to sell its land so it can be turned into a shopping mall.
From then on, the ghosts begin to wreak havoc according to Prasom’s orders. He even creates a powerful "Hong Prai" spirit to oversee the ghosts and ensure they carry out his wicked deeds. Any ghost that disobeys is cursed and prevented from being reincarnated, but if they succeed, he promises to release their souls as a reward. However, there are four ghosts who know right from wrong: the Thai dancer ghost, the nurse ghost, the lovelorn air force soldier ghost, and the boastful teen ghost. They do not want to follow Prasom's orders because they know it is a sin that will lead them to a bad next life, but they cannot resist the overwhelming power of his dark magic.
When the chaos reaches the Chancellor, along with Teacher Thomya (a strict, moral, near-retirement female teacher who loves to complain and stick to the rules—and who hilariously tries to preach to the ghosts before her students have to drag her away so her neck doesn't get snapped) and Teacher Sophie (a Thai language teacher who speaks terrible Thai), they all try to find a way to fix the situation. Teacher Ladda suddenly remembers seeing Prasom climbing up a door to supposedly remove a spirit-warding talisman. However, Kampoon notes that the talisman was fake anyway, as his sixth sense saw ghosts casually walking right through it. The Chancellor calls Prasom to his office to demand why he took the talisman down. Instead of answering, Prasom spits betel juice right into the Chancellor’s face to cast a hypnotic spell on him. From that moment on, the Chancellor becomes Prasom's mindless minion.
Nammon begins to suspect Prasom and secretly monitors his behavior. Over the holidays, while everyone else goes home, Nammon and his friends sneak back to spy on Prasom. Nammon's suspicions are confirmed when he sees Prasom magically commanding the Chancellor to expel all the students. When the Chancellor's subconscious tries to resist, Prasom summons a soldier ghost to terrify him, knowing the Chancellor has a deep fear of ghosts in uniforms. Unable to handle the terror, teachers and students alike request temporary leave, packing their bags and fleeing. Many teachers lose their will to teach, and several students drop out of the university entirely.
For the first time, everyone unites and brainstorms a way out. However, Chaitong and Ladda are captured by the capitalist's thugs and thrown into the water, nearly drowning. Their astral bodies leave their physical forms, leading both to believe they are dead. The two spirits wander until they run into Nammon and his gang, who are currently performing a ritual with the help of the dancer ghost, the nurse ghost, the air force ghost, and the teen ghost to send Chaitong and Ladda's astral bodies back into their physical ones before their life support machines are unplugged, which would kill them instantly.
Everyone is nearly shocked to death when the two miraculously wake up, initially running away thinking they are seeing ghosts. Once Ladda and Chaitong prove they are truly alive, the group rejoices. With his cover blown, Prasom flees to hide in a secret underground WWII bunker to practice his meditation and dark arts to become even more powerful.
Meanwhile, Nammon visits Kong, the local alcoholic undertaker, who is actually a master exorcist hiding out at the temple for years. Kong advises that good must overcome evil. He instructs Nammon to strictly observe the Eight Precepts for exactly three weeks and dedicate the merit to all the ghosts with a pure heart every single day. This will give the ghosts the spiritual strength to resist Prasom’s evil control. Nammon follows the advice, dressing in white and practicing his precepts strictly.
Eventually, Nammon finds a way to break the dark spell paralyzing the spirits using a mantra given by the master. He succeeds, and peace finally returns to the university. Students come back to study as normal. Nammon and his friends become closer and more united than ever. Boriboon finally accepts Yindee as an equal friend rather than a lackey. Nammon and Sawitree start their romance anew, and Chaitong and Ladda's bond deepens significantly.
The Chancellor hosts a grand banquet to thank everyone who helped defeat the ghosts and get rid of the villains. That night, Kampoon leaves his friends with a parting remark: he sees their ghost friends arriving to congratulate everyone and say their final goodbyes before moving on to their next lives. Everyone immediately gets goosebumps, scatters, and hilariously yells, "Go in peace! You really didn't need to come say goodbye, Mr. Ghost... Heu... Heu!"
