Thong Ek (Chaiya Mitchai) is the youngest son of Mr. Boonthong (Puttipong Promsaka Na Sakolnakorn) and Mrs. Thongplub (Ratree Wittawat), who run a rice shop called "Trakul Khao Thong" in the local market. Born prematurely, Thong Ek has always been physically small. His parents pampered and overprotected him from childhood into adulthood, believing his small stature made him weaker than others, even after he successfully earned a Bachelor's degree in Law for the family.
However, he caused his mother, Thongplub, to lose sleep and her appetite when he became determined to apply for the police force. Unfortunately, Thong Ek didn't even get the chance to take the written exam because both his height and chest circumference fell short of the official requirements.
Still, he hoped that in two years, he would finally be able to pass the exam and become a police officer. From that day on, Thong Ek did nothing but load up on food and vitamins while exercising rigorously. Two years later, he returned to apply just as he had before.
But this time was different. Police Lieutenant General Sanub, or Commander Nub (Montri Janeaksorn), the chairman of the selection committee, saw Thong Ek's sheer determination. Seeing that he lacked the physique but had the heart for the job, he offered Thong Ek a position as an undercover spy first.
Initially, Thong Ek firmly rejected Commander Nub's offer, declaring, "I don't want to be a spy!" He took the offer home to think it over. Since absolutely no one at home supported his ambitions, Thong Ek ultimately decided to rebel and accept the offer.
