Synopsis
Rerin (Taksaorn Paksukcharern) finally sees the true colors of Thanin (Jason Young), her fiancé of many years from an arranged marriage, when she discovers he secretly sold her woven fabrics without telling her. Furious, Rerin immediately travels to Chiang Mai to calm her mind. In Chiang Mai, she visits various villages to observe their traditional weaving. In Mae Chaem, she meets Suriyawong (Atichart Chumnanont) and catches a ride back into the city with him. Rerin stays at a friendly local resort. On her first night, she hears someone calling her name. She steps outside and meets a strange man who speaks to her as if they have known each other for a long time. He welcomes her back, leaving Rerin completely bewildered.
Rerin discovers that Suriyawong is the younger brother of Wandara (Ornanong Panyawong), the resort owner. He fell in love with her at first sight. Learning of her interest in antique textiles, he volunteers to introduce her to his grandmother, Bua Ngoen (Pisamai Wilaisak), who owns a vast collection of ancient Lanna fabrics. However, the moment Bua Ngoen sees Rerin’s face, everything turns chaotic. Bua Ngoen furiously chases Rerin away, cursing her and displaying intense hatred, leaving both Rerin and Suriyawong utterly confused. Bua Ngoen knows deep down that Maneerin has returned to exact her revenge.
Rerin visits a textile museum, and among the Lanna fabrics, she feels an inexplicable, deep connection to the Tai Khuen textiles from Chiang Tung, especially those that originally belonged to Princess Maneerin (Taksaorn Paksukcharern). The tragic life story of Princess Maneerin fascinates Rerin, making her yearn to know more. Seeing her intense interest, the museum staff shows her an unfinished woven fabric. The moment Rerin lays eyes on it, she falls into a trance, sits down, and immediately begins weaving to finish it. During her time weaving and her late-night encounters with the strange man, she feels as though she has slipped into another dimension and truly comes to know Princess Maneerin.
Princess Maneerin was a princess from the Chiang Tung state who was sent to Chiang Mai to marry Prince Siriwattana (Chatayodom Hiranyatithi), even though she didn't love him at all. Sneaking out of the royal residence with her trusted nanny, Khamtieng (Sakaewan Yongjaiyut), she visited the market. There, Maneerin met Prince Siriwong (Atichart Chumnanont). A fast-blossoming friendship quickly evolved into a deep, mutual understanding, ultimately turning into love. When they finally discovered each other's true identities, their love became strictly forbidden.
Bua Ngoen, Prince Siriwattana's consort, was consumed with vengeful jealousy upon learning Maneerin had arrived to marry her husband. She plotted to eliminate Maneerin. Luck seemed to favor Bua Ngoen when the Chao Luang (ruling prince) (Phaothong Thongchua) and his Royal Consort (Chalida Taochalee Tantipipop) trusted her to act as Maneerin's mentor. Because Maneerin loved weaving, the Royal Consort assigned Bua Ngoen to teach her. Bua Ngoen constantly bullied, humiliated, and belittled her. Yet, Maneerin’s weaving skills improved every day. Her creations deeply impressed the Royal Consort, and Siriwattana seemed to fall more in love with Maneerin daily. Still, Bua Ngoen continuously found opportunities to strike. She once deliberately pushed Maneerin into the water, intending only to humiliate her. However, Maneerin couldn't swim and began to drown. Siriwong arrived just in time to save her, a heroic act that only deepened their bond.
During the ceremony to present a woven cloth to the sacred pagoda, the Chao Luang and his Consort ordered a weaving competition between Maneerin and Bua Ngoen. Bua Ngoen cheated, leaving Maneerin with no cotton thread to weave. But at the very last minute, Siriwong, who had uncovered Bua Ngoen's plot, brought a massive supply of cotton to Maneerin. The outcome severely humiliated Bua Ngoen, as Maneerin was declared the winner after incorporating exquisite Chiang Tung embroidery into her work. Bua Ngoen's hatred for Maneerin grew, fueled further by her belief that the Chao Luang favored Maneerin over her.
E-Moey (Chudapa Chantakett), Bua Ngoen’s deeply loyal servant, hatched a plan to kill Maneerin by hiding a cobra in a basket of flowers. However, Siriwong was the one who got bitten. Fearless of death, Maneerin sucked the venom from his arm. This act bound them even closer in love, and E-Moey began to suspect their relationship. E-Moey was caught and flogged as a suspect, but Maneerin spared her life, forgiving her due to a lack of concrete evidence.
As Siriwattana paid less and less attention to Bua Ngoen, E-Moey suggested using black magic love potions, a serious crime punishable by death. Siriwattana fell gravely ill from the spell. Siriwong and Maneerin discovered Bua Ngoen’s plot and successfully broke the black magic. Later, the Chao Luang fell slightly ill but recovered quickly thanks to the food Maneerin prepared for him. Impressed, he entrusted Maneerin with managing his meals permanently. Bua Ngoen seized this opportunity for revenge by poisoning the food, hoping to assassinate the Chao Luang and frame Maneerin simultaneously. E-Moey took the fall for Bua Ngoen and committed suicide for the crime, vowing with her dying breath that her spirit would serve Bua Ngoen forever.
Through E-Moey's ghost, Bua Ngoen uncovered the deep, romantic relationship between Maneerin and Siriwong. She exposed the scandal, hoping Siriwattana would execute Maneerin. Furious, Siriwattana confronted them, but when Maneerin and Siriwong confessed the truth and begged him to understand their true love, his heart softened.
On the day of Songkran, Siriwong arranged to meet Maneerin. The ghost of E-Moey possessed Siriwattana, forcing him to follow them, and in a possessed rage, he accidentally killed his brother, Siriwong. Utterly devastated, Maneerin wanted to die alongside her true love. Consumed by guilt for killing his brother, Siriwattana sought redemption by marrying Maneerin and promising to take the best possible care of her. He ordered her to weave a bridal shawl for their wedding. Maneerin didn't resist; she intently wove the shawl, planning to use it to hang herself and join Siriwong in death. However, Bua Ngoen intervened, violently forcing poison down Maneerin's throat until she died right at her loom. Siriwong's spirit remained bound by grief, eventually dying of a broken heart.
For seventy years, Bua Ngoen lived as if she were in hell. When Maneerin reincarnates as Rerin, Bua Ngoen's vengeful hatred reignites. She and the ghost of E-Moey do everything in their power to stop Rerin from finishing the unfinished fabric. However, with the spiritual help of both Siriwattana and Siriwong, Rerin finally completes it. In a final act of malice, Bua Ngoen orders E-Moey's ghost to possess Thanin to kidnap and kill Rerin.
