Boss Zhang, a Hong Kong billionaire and owner of a famous finance company, has a grand mansion, a horse farm, and holds a lot of influence. He has an only daughter named Lee Hua, or Lilly, a beautiful but spoiled young woman. Boss Zhang wants Lilly to marry Peter, the son of his close friend, but Lilly doesn't love him. She flees the arranged marriage to Thailand because she has a Thai friend named Supanapa, who taught her how to speak Thai. However, when Lilly arrives in Thailand, she discovers that Supanapa has moved. She is forced to stay at a luxury hotel temporarily while trying to track her friend down.
Boss Zhang sends two of his trusted men, Peng and Tek, to Thailand to bring his daughter back. Peng is calm and composed, contrasting with the hot-headed and impulsive Tek. The two track Lilly down to her hotel and nearly catch her several times, but Lilly uses her quick wits to escape her father's men every time. During one escape, she bumps into Nop and yells that she is being harassed to get his help. Nop fights off Peng and Tek and helps the young woman escape. Because Lilly dresses in a flashy, sexy, and modern style with heavy makeup, Nop assumes she is a prostitute trying to escape her pimps. Seeing Nop's fighting skills, Lilly hires him to be her bodyguard. Nop, who is currently bored with his life, accepts the job for fun.
Lilly doesn't know that Nop is actually a wealthy former police officer. He dresses plainly, but he recently resigned from the police force out of boredom and had a major falling out with his father and stepmother, prompting him to move out of his family's mansion and into his private condo. Nop's father, Mr. Arkom, is a wealthy widower businessman who recently married Pathumwadee, a fiercely seductive young widow young enough to be his daughter. Mr. Arkom is so infatuated with Pathumwadee that he gives her one of the two keys to his safe (the safe requires two keys to be turned simultaneously to open). Originally, Nop was the one holding this second key, but his father asked for it back to give it to his new wife.
Nop can see right through Pathumwadee; he knows she doesn't truly love his father and has overheard her on the phone with another man. He knows she is a gold digger trying to swindle his father's money. He tries to warn Mr. Arkom, but his father refuses to believe him, leading to the argument that caused Nop to leave home. Pathumwadee only became Mr. Arkom's wife to get her hands on the massive fortune of jewelry in the safe, working together with her secret lover, Pipat, who is the mastermind behind the plan.
Having secured one key, Pathumwadee waits for the right moment to steal the other key to open the safe. One day, while out shopping, Pathumwadee takes her key out to admire it. Suddenly, city police raid the street vendors, causing a chaotic stampede. Pathumwadee is shoved and bumps into Lilly, who is out looking for food. The key falls from Pathumwadee's hand straight into Lilly's oversized bag. Before Pathumwadee can demand her key back, Peng and Tek catch up to Lilly. Lilly immediately runs away, and Pathumwadee is unable to catch her to retrieve the key.
Pipat is furious at Pathumwadee for losing the key, but she tells him she remembers Lilly clearly and heard Peng and Tek speaking to her in Cantonese. She deduces that Lilly must be a tourist staying at a hotel in the shopping district. Pipat and Pathumwadee investigate until they find Lilly's hotel and discover she is with Nop, the stepson. This forces them to be extra careful so Nop doesn't get suspicious.
Pipat sends Kiti and Amnuay, two thugs, to catch Lilly and get the key back. Lilly misunderstands, thinking the two thugs are her father's men, so she isn't scared. She just focuses on running away, finding the chase thrilling and fun, completely unaware of the real danger she is in. Thankfully, Nop is there to help her.
Kiti and Amnuay use extreme violence, which makes Nop, Peng, and Tek suspicious. Nop is especially puzzled because he knows Peng and Tek would never use such violence against their boss's daughter. He investigates and finds out that Kiti and Amnuay were sent by his stepmother's lover. He is even more surprised as to why Pathumwadee would be involved with Lilly. Now, Lilly is on the run from two groups: Peng and Tek (her father's men) and Kiti and Amnuay (Pathumwadee's men). Nop stays by her side as her protector, and their close proximity causes them to fall deeply in love.
Kiti and Amnuay constantly fail because Nop thwarts them, and Peng and Tek also unintentionally help keep Lilly safe. Pipat decides to change his plan. Nop has Lilly move into his condo, but Peng and Tek track her down. A woman in the condo named Nadda helps Lilly and Nop escape.
Nadda starts getting close to Nop, acting as if she is falling for him, which makes Lilly jealous. In reality, Nadda is a decoy sent by Pipat to replace Kiti and Amnuay. Her mission is to get close to them and steal the key from Lilly's bag. Nadda gets a chance to search the bag but doesn't find Pathumwadee's key. When she reports back, Pipat slaps her and orders her to go back and search Lilly's room again. Meanwhile, Nop and Peng are investigating who is trying to hurt Lilly and begin to suspect Nadda. Nop is shocked to discover Nadda's connection to Pipat and his stepmother.
Peng meets Nadda and takes a special interest in the Thai woman. He asks Nadda to help convince Lilly to return to Hong Kong, as Bangkok is no longer safe for her. Nadda also feels a connection with Peng and confesses that she is forced to work for Pipat because her father owes him a massive debt; this job is to clear that debt. Peng offers to give Nadda the money to pay off the debt. Nadda is deeply touched but refuses the money.
Suspecting Pipat and Pathumwadee's motives, and realizing Nadda isn't a bad person, Nop asks Nadda to cooperate with him. Nop finally finds his father's safe key in Lilly's bag. He devises a plan with Nadda to double-cross Pipat and Pathumwadee. Nop gives the key to Nadda to hand over to Pipat. Pathumwadee quickly executes her plan, stealing Mr. Arkom's key to open the safe. Just as she does, Nop and Mr. Arkom appear. Pathumwadee is caught red-handed trying to steal the treasure and is arrested. Pipat manages to escape. Furious at Lilly and the group, and discovering that Lilly is a billionaire's daughter, Pipat orders Kiti and Amnuay to deal with Nop and kidnaps Lilly before Peng and Tek can intervene.
Nop, Peng, and Tek join forces to rescue Lilly, guided by Nadda's inside information. They successfully save her, though Nop takes a bullet shielding Lilly. Pipat is captured by Peng and Tek and handed over to the police. Boss Zhang flies to Thailand and meets Nop, the man Lilly chose over her fiancé Peter. Fearing his daughter will run away again, Boss Zhang agrees to let Lilly marry Nop. Peng pairs up with Nadda, and Nop pairs up with Lilly, finding fulfillment in love.
