Pleng Rak Baan Na

Tuan and Mern, disciples of Luang Ta (the venerable monk) of Ban Na Temple, are both orphans who were taken in and raised by the monk on alms food until they grew up. The two return to Ban Na after disappearing for almost ten years, sparking rumors among the villagers that they had been in prison.
Tuan and Mern arrive back in Ban Na on the exact same day and cross paths with Sri-prai, the youngest daughter of Mr. Porn and Mrs. Sod, who has just graduated with a degree in horticulture and returned to be a farmer in Ban Na. Sri-prai is in the middle of rushing an older woman to deliver a baby, but Tuan’s beat-up car and Mern’s E-tan (farm) truck are parked, blocking the way. This leads to a chaotic situation where they all have to help deliver the baby together. Sri-prai dislikes both young men, knowing that Tuan and Mern both used to be in love with Sri-prae, her older sister and the local beauty queen.
A young boy named Saen rushes to inform Luang Ta that Tuan and Mern have returned. Niao, the daughter of Jek Tong (the local Chinese merchant), who has always had a crush on Tuan, is overjoyed that he is back in Ban Na. Meanwhile, Jek Tong immediately tries to keep them apart because he despises perceived ex-convicts like Tuan and Mern and does not want either of them as a son-in-law.
Luang Ta tells Tuan and Mern to build a shack to live in behind the temple’s graveyard, staying alongside Tok and Mok, two other temple boys. Maha Chueai, the temple's laywarden, is assigned to keep an eye on them.
Mern hurries to Sri-prae's house to see her but is blocked by Mr. Porn and Mrs. Sod, as both parents are fiercely protective of their daughter. Sri-prae is the eldest daughter, and Mr. Porn hopes to marry her off to Chingchai, the son of the wealthy Millionaire Boonchuai. Mr. Porn favors wealth because he believes money will bring Sri-prae happiness. However, Sri-prae has secretly been in love with Mern since they were teenagers, despite Mern's lowly status as a temple boy.
Tuan acts as Mern's rival. Both men are suspicious of where the other had disappeared to for nearly ten years, but both conceal the truth. Ultimately, they once again begin their competition to win Sri-prae's heart.
