Synopsis

“Malai Sam Chai” (A Garland for Three Men) tells the life story of Lao-on (Piyada Jutaratnakul), a woman of virtue and beauty, pure as a flower garland, whose fate leads her to have three husbands, each of them completely different.
The first is Yot Phalathorn (Phutthanes Hongmanop), a pleasure-loving young man and Lao-on’s first love. He is the man who teaches her about the painful and darker side of love.
The second is Thep Ratchasak (Saharat Sangkapreecha), a strong and dependable military officer, who becomes a sheltering tree for her — though only for a short while before he is taken away.
Later, she meets the third man, Chao Direkruj (Son Songpaisan), a handsome young doctor who becomes like life-giving water, restoring Lao-on’s spirit once again.
Though she passes through the lives of three men, Lao-on remains admired, loved, and respected by everyone who knows her, because of her goodness and her firm devotion to moral values and proper tradition.
In contrast stands Thongphairam (Ornjira Laemwilai), a young woman from the Yi-sun-lueang brothel, who uses her beauty to seduce and ensnare men. It is not only Yot and Lao-on’s family that is destroyed by Thongphairam’s charm — her greed, lust, and ambition consume the lives of every man who comes near her.
Khanong (Phuri Hiranyapruk), Yot’s loyal servant, betrays his master for her, only to die at the hands of Bai (Anatphon Sirichumsaeng), Yot’s horse trainer and another of Thongphairam’s lovers. Narin (Witthawat Singlamphong), the sensitive young son of Chao Khun Naraphiban (Jakkrit Ammarat), is also drawn into the dangerous web of her seduction, leading to a tragedy that destroys both father and son.
Although Lao-on and Thongphairam are as different as water and fire, fate repeatedly binds their lives together at every turning point. Lao-on’s once peaceful and gentle world is shattered by the blazing flames of desire and passion that Thongphairam unleashes.
Watch this major dramatic showdown featuring Piyada Jutaratnakul, Phutthanes Hongmanop, Saharat Sangkapreecha, Ornjira Laemwilai, and Son Songpaisan, alongside a strong supporting cast, in the grand period drama “Malai Sam Chai.”
The drama aired every Monday to Thursday at 8:30 PM on Channel 5, beginning with its first episode on Tuesday, September 21, 2010.
