Synopsis

Pi Sat Saen Kon is a romantic fantasy comedy about an earnest young banker whose life is turned upside down when a charming old ghost begins possessing him.
Prot is a handsome bank employee who devotes himself entirely to work. He lives simply, follows the philosophy of sufficiency, and never strays from the straight and narrow. Because of his modest and disciplined lifestyle, everyone at the bank’s head office has nicknamed him “Luang Ta” — the monk. Prot is determined to save enough money to marry Chatcharee, his longtime girlfriend, who is also one of the bank’s major clients. She has loved and understood him for many years. But Prot has no idea how to prove to her family that he can become a son-in-law with a promising future.
One day, Prot confides in Chatcharee about how her family always looks down on him for being poor. Chatcharee becomes upset and says she has lost hope. Their argument escalates until she runs off, and Prot chases after her — only to slip and hit his head on a stone pedestal.
From that moment on, Prot begins to behave very differently. He suddenly becomes cheerful, flirtatious, smooth-talking, and openly charming. He even insists on accompanying Chatcharee to dinner with her family — something he had always tried to avoid. There, he responds to everyone confidently and cleverly, jokes around with ease, and leaves a strong impression on them all. He seems like a completely new person.
The next morning, Prot is startled to hear a mysterious voice whispering beside his ear, though he can see no one there. He is horrified when he realizes that the voice belongs to a ghost.
The ghost introduces himself as Thong Hor, a spirit from the royal court who, in life, was once a playboy nobleman. Thong Hor wants to accumulate merit so that he can finally enjoy bliss in heaven. To do that, he decides to help make Prot and Chatcharee’s love succeed. But Thong Hor cannot resist having fun and often borrows Prot’s body to go out and enjoy life.
At first, Chatcharee likes the change. Prot is no longer stiff, overly restrained, and boring. Instead, he becomes sweet, romantic, daring, and charmingly flirtatious with her. But over time, she starts to feel stressed as Prot begins acting like a playboy, with strange women approaching him as if they know him intimately. This leads to frequent arguments between the couple.
Prot finally begins seriously resisting Thong Hor. He tries chanting prayers and using various spells to drive the ghost away, but these efforts only seem to make Thong Hor stronger. The ghost starts possessing Prot more and more often, until he can take over Prot’s body both day and night.
Thong Hor keeps telling himself that everything he is doing for Chatcharee is for the sake of helping her and Prot end up together, which will earn him enough merit to ascend to heaven. Using Prot’s body, he goes golfing with Thep and helps solve family problems between Thep and Amara. They become so attached to him that they want Prot to stay at their house as an adopted son until the engagement ceremony is complete.
After the engagement, Chatcharee drags Prot into the garden to confront him about all the women in his life. Left with no other choice, Prot finally reveals the truth: that he has a ghost friend who helped him win the lottery, giving him the money for the engagement and the bridal procession he used to formally ask for her hand.
Chatcharee refuses to believe him, so Prot asks Thong Hor to appear in person. Thong Hor has no objection at all — in fact, he enjoys showing off.
Human greed soon takes over, and everyone begins accepting Thong Hor, asking him to grant whatever they desire. The ghost starts to feel overwhelmed, though he still enjoys the offerings, the ritual dances performed for him by Mae Philai, and all the mischief he can play on people.
But Prot can no longer tolerate his ghostly companion. His problems with Chatcharee only grow worse. The understanding and love they had when he was poor begin turning into tension, suspicion, and heartbreak. Chatcharee also starts quarreling with Thong Hor so often that she completely loses her fear of him — and even begins collecting ghost-hunting tools to tease and torment him in return.
At last, Prot comes up with a plan: perhaps the only way to get rid of Thong Hor is to help release his spirit from the grave, so that he can move on to heaven once and for all.
So how will Prot deal with the sly and troublesome ghost Thong Hor?
And will his love with Chatcharee ever truly succeed?
