Synopsis
Chom is a final-year nursing student who has to move into a dormitory to escape Kamphon, her adoptive father, a gambling addict who tries to rape her. Ari, the woman who adopted and raised her, has poor health, so Chom hopes that after graduating she will be able to care for her. But Ari suddenly dies in an accident, and Chom is forced to move back home with her evil adoptive father.
Chat is a vocational school student. After finishing a part-time job at a garage and heading home, he sees Chom running out of her house with her clothes in disarray. He helps her escape on his motorcycle right in front of Kamphon. Chat takes Chom to stay at Mae Chuen’s house. The next morning, Chom secretly sees two men eating with Mae Chuen and asks Chat who they are. Chat tells her that the eldest brother is Charn, who has just passed the bar exam to become a lawyer, and the second brother is Chai, a boxer.
While Kamphon is running a gambling den at home, Chat volunteers to go get Chom’s clothes from the house. Just then, the police arrive, so Chat disguises himself as a woman and manages to escape arrest. The next day, Mae Chuen is making Thai desserts and accidentally scalds herself with hot water. Chom sees this and helps her, then tells Mae Chuen her story. Mae Chuen then asks Chom to help sell sweets in front of the house.
Chai, Chat’s older brother, is training intensely in boxing with Kru Nae, his coach. Then Piphop, a lawyer, brings documents informing Kru Nae that his land is about to be seized. Kru Nae asks for a delay until after the boxing match.
When the match day arrives, Chai wins by knockout and is able to use the prize money to pay the land’s interest for Kru Nae. Mae Chuen tells everyone that Chom is her niece from the countryside who has come to study nursing. This leads to Aem, a tomboy and the daughter of Im, the transgender owner of a riverside guesthouse, constantly courting Chom every day.
When Kamphon discovers Chom’s whereabouts, he brings the police to arrest Chat, but Charn, knowing the law, is able to help him. Piphop sees Charn’s knowledge and abilities and invites him to work together, introducing him to Madam Phuangkaem and her daughter, Pimphan.
After Charn wins an inheritance case, the law office receives a share of the settlement. Pimphan buys a new car for Charn to drive. Mae Chuen then tells him to drive Chom to and from school instead of Chat, which causes Chat deep pain. Chat then enters a breakdance competition, wins a prize, and gives the money to Chom. But Chom donates the money to an orphanage instead. That night, Chat takes Chom to a fair, and they spend a happy evening together, causing Charn to miss her when he goes to pick her up from school.
Then trouble arises when Chom is harassed and Chat is beaten by a gang. Fortunately, Charn arrives in time to help and takes Chom home. Meanwhile, Chat is in the hospital on an IV drip with Aem caring for him. Charn takes advantage of the situation by getting Chom drunk and taking her to a motel. Just then, Chat and Aem, having recovered enough to leave the hospital, arrive in time to save Chom. Chat becomes furious with Charn and tries to run away with Chom, but Mae Chuen suddenly falls and hits her head, so Chom has to stay and take care of her.
A crucial boxing match is then arranged, with Kru Nae’s land at stake. But on the night before the fight, Chai sees Charn giving Chom a ring, and Chom happily accepts it. This leaves Chai heartbroken and without the will to fight.
As a result, he is badly beaten by the champion from Bangkok. Ashamed to return home, Chai is invited by Kru Nae to go live in Fang District, Chiang Mai, along with Kru Nae’s mute daughter, Nantha. In Fang, Kru Nae and Nantha work at the flower garden of Aunt Nian, Kru Nae’s sister, while Chai works at Thanathorn Orange Orchard, owned by the wealthy Thanathorn, an old friend of Kru Nae. Thanathorn has a daughter named Thipaya, who is the wife of Sakda.
Chai learns that Thipaya is the younger sister of Theprit, the owner of a major boxing camp. This gives Chai a chance to fight again, and he wins, regaining his popularity. Chai then returns home to everyone’s delight. When he learns that Chom is not actually engaged to Charn, he grows close to her as a lover. Charn, hurt by the sight of them together, goes off drinking and is seduced by Pimphan, who gets him drunk and ends up making him her husband. He then moves to live with her at her garden house.
Then Theprit and Mr. Batchaya organize another boxing match so that Singharat can have a rematch. But Chai is drugged and loses this time. When Chat learns the truth, he storms into the house and attacks Sakda, but Sakda shoots him dead. Mae Chuen is devastated and falls seriously ill with heart disease.
Thipaya tries to divorce Sakda, but he demands 80 million baht and tries to kill her. She survives, but is left completely paralyzed. Pimphan also becomes Sakda’s mistress. Later, Pimphan realizes Sakda is insincere and descends into drunken madness. Thanathorn hires Piphop to sue Sakda for drugging Chai during the boxing match. Unable to bear seeing his sister suffer, Thipaya’s older brother asks Chai to rescue her.
Thipaya then shoots Sakda dead. Chai sees this and quickly grabs the gun just as the police arrive, making it appear as though he is the killer. Chai is arrested and sentenced to death. Mae Chuen hears the news and dies of shock. Charn decides to fight Chai’s case on appeal. Thipaya finally confesses that she herself shot Sakda and reveals all the evil deeds that had happened, while Kamphon becomes a witness and betrays Mr. Bancha. The court ultimately reduces Chai’s sentence to only two years in prison for trespassing and assault. The police arrest Mr. Bancha on multiple charges. Piphop, overcome with guilt, commits suicide, while Charn is shot dead by Pimphan.
One year later, Chai is pardoned and returns home. He finds that the house has been turned into an orphanage. All the children call Chom “mother,” and Chom has continued to wait faithfully for Chai, even though she was once known as a woman with “three hearts.”
