Synopsis
“Wan Jai Kap Nai Jom Ying” is a romantic drama set in a luxury hotel world, where love, ambition, class differences, and old family secrets collide.
Jomjai, Kul, and Kaewsai, three university beauties from the Faculty of Home Economics, are sent for internship training at Siamtara Hotel, a luxurious five-star hotel standing along the Chao Phraya River. The hotel is part of the vast business empire of the Akkrasiri Group, headed by Yubon, the company president. Helping manage the hotel are her two nephews, Atsawin and Chatchawin.
From the first moment he sees her, Chatchawin is captivated by Kaewsai. He does not know how to woo her properly, so he teases her and keeps dropping sweet words instead. Kaewsai does not dare respond because she feels inferior due to her poor background, though deep down she is thrilled to be near the man of her dreams.
Meanwhile, Jomjai encounters Tossawin, a young chef with a stern and somewhat sorrowful demeanor. Their first meeting is far from pleasant, leaving both of them with a poor impression of each other. By coincidence, when Jomjai begins her internship at Siamtara, she is assigned to train directly under Tossawin’s supervision. This leads to constant bickering and conflict between them.
Tossawin trains the three girls very strictly. Kaewsai handles the hard work easily because she has struggled all her life. Kul, though not from a rich family, complains now and then because she has never had to work this hard before. Jomjai, having been raised like a spoiled young lady, has trouble with almost everything. Later, the three are separated into departments that suit their talents:
As chairwoman of Siamtara, Yubon announces that she is stepping back from management and wants to choose a successor to run the hotel. She introduces Tossawin to the shareholders as a possible heir to the business and arranges for Chatchawin and Tossawin to take turns managing Siamtara so that their leadership ability and efficiency can be compared. Another grandson, Atsawin, withdraws from this competition because he only wants to manage the convention center he loves. Ploenjit and Wicha both work hard to support Chatchawin so that he will become the next executive.
Jomjai begins reinventing traditional Thai dishes in a modern style, and her food becomes a favorite among hotel guests — including Yubon, Atsawin, and Sumana. Even the highly critical Ploenjit cannot help but admire her cooking. At one of Siamtara’s grand events, Jomjai’s parents, Bodi and Nongnuch, are invited as VIP guests because they want to taste their daughter’s food. There, Ploenjit unexpectedly meets Bodi, the man she once deeply loved — only to be reminded that he had chosen to marry Nongnuch instead. She channels all her resentment from the past onto Jomjai, though Tossawin repeatedly comes to Jomjai’s aid. Jomjai begins to wonder why Ploenjit hates her so much.
Another troublemaker is Lalin, a beautiful and wealthy high-society girl who once thought she was the brightest, most desirable young woman at university. But Jomjai proves to be prettier, richer, and more outstanding than she is, and Lalin cannot bear it. She becomes determined to defeat Jomjai. Nilarat, similarly, envies Kaewsai because although Kaewsai is poor like her, she is much prettier and much more intelligent. As a result, Lalin and Nilarat openly become enemies of the three girls — with the exception of Khaopun, who refuses to take sides.
As for Chatchawin and Kaewsai, their relationship develops quickly, much to the anger of Ploenjit, Chatchawin’s mother. Because she refuses to accept a poor girl as her daughter-in-law, she plots to separate them by taking Yai Nom, Kaewsai’s grandmother, hostage and forcing Kaewsai to create conflict between Tossawin and Jomjai. Kaewsai reluctantly obeys out of fear for her grandmother’s safety, leading both Jomjai and Chatchawin to misunderstand her. At the same time, Urairisa, Atsawin’s fiancée, cooperates with Ploenjit because she secretly likes Tossawin and wants to create misunderstandings involving Atsawin and Jomjai so that she can escape her own engagement.
Meanwhile, Atsawin notices Kul’s talent for floral arrangement and asks her to help decorate his convention center. This gives him the chance to grow closer to her. Living in a world full of business competition, Atsawin finds happiness whenever he is with Kul, whose gentle and easygoing nature feels like a breath of fresh air.
At the same time, Tossawin begins investigating the mysterious death of his father, Pakorn, and slowly comes closer and closer to uncovering the truth. This makes Ploenjit and Wicha, the people really behind Pakorn’s death, increasingly nervous that the secret will be exposed. Yut, too, becomes tense as everything begins leaning in Tossawin’s favor. Since Chatchawin shows little real interest in wealth and inheritance, Wicha and Ploenjit begin considering how to remove Tossawin from the path entirely — and Yut is shocked by the truth he has just learned.
Ploenjit then devises another cruel plan involving her husband Pakit. Since Pakit suffers from kidney disease and must follow a strict diet, Ploenjit uses this as an opportunity to slowly poison him. But Yubon assigns Jomjai to oversee Pakit’s food, and his health gradually improves. This also makes Pakit even more important to the investigation, because he is a key witness who could reveal everything about Pakorn’s death. Suspicious of Pakit’s improving condition, and especially after finding a written message he left behind in the bedroom, Ploenjit realizes she can no longer allow Tossawin, Jomjai, or Pakit to remain free. So she forces Kaewsai once again to insert herself between Tossawin and Jomjai.
Kaewsai has no choice but to obey for the sake of her grandmother’s safety — no matter how much it hurts her beloved friend Jomjai.
So what will become of the love between Jomjai and Tossawin?
How will Kaewsai resolve the conflict inside her heart?
And will all these tangled problems finally be untangled?
