Lueam Phrai Lai Rak

The story centers on the conflict between two families, the Rangsarit and the Jakarawut clans, who are locked in both business rivalry and deeply hidden personal entanglements that bind them together. The Rangsarit family consists of Kampanat, the eldest brother who holds power over everyone; his younger brother Banlue, who serves as his right-hand man in managing the family business; Sansayakorn, the only son, who acts as his left-hand man; and the youngest sister, Khoranee, who takes care of the household. On the Jakarawut side, Nimman, the eldest woman, is the family leader, followed by her younger brothers Nuengnit and Nitsee, who help run the family affairs.
The conflict erupts when the youngest members of the two families, Nitsee and Khoranee, secretly fall in love and have a relationship, resulting in a son, Roengritta. The boy grows up without receiving any love from Nitsee. Nimman forces her younger brother Nitsee to abandon both Khoranee and their son and go abroad, where he takes a new American wife and has a beautiful daughter, Yanin (Nikki). This causes immense disgrace for Khoranee and the Rangsarit family.
Sansayakorn is forced to mediate the dispute between Khoranee and Nitsee when Khoranee presses him about Nitsee’s will, insisting that part of the inheritance must go to her son Roengritta, not solely to Nikki. The pressure causes the already frail Nitsee to die suddenly, leaving Nimman devastated by the loss of her beloved brother. During Nitsee’s funeral, Nikki returns to Thailand and hides out with her bold female friend Pang at a pub on Khaosan Road. During the Songkran festival, she meets Sansayakorn by chance and takes him back to her room to change because she soaked him with water. Trouble strikes when attackers burst in, assault both of them until they lose consciousness, and stage the scene so they are found lying naked together.
When they wake up, they accuse each other of being behind it, but they are forced to call a truce when they find evidence left by the culprit: a suit button engraved with the letter “R.” Sansayakorn recognizes it immediately as a signature button of the Rangsarit family and concludes that the attacker was a man. He meets Nikki again at Nitsee’s funeral and only then realizes that she is Nitsee’s daughter. Nikki boldly presents herself before the Jakarawut family without fearing the domineering authority of her aunt Nimman, who tries to control her in every matter.
Another scandal breaks out when nude photos of Sansayakorn and Nikki are slipped into every funeral memorial book distributed at the service, bringing great humiliation to both families. Only Nikki and Roengritta seem unconcerned, treating it as something amusing and sexy. Sansayakorn cannot accept Nikki’s Westernized, outspoken attitude and begins to believe that she orchestrated the embarrassing incident.
Nimman interrogates Nikki about how she could have slept with Sansayakorn. Nikki does not reveal that she was assaulted and instead falsely claims that she really did sleep with him. Nimman becomes furious and orders Nikki to move into the Rangsarit household. While Nuengnit treats Nikki kindly, she senses that Rewat, Nimman’s handsome butler and personal secretary, is hiding something.
Sansayakorn insists to Nikki that he must uncover the whole truth. Nikki suggests that he pretend to be her boyfriend for a month in order to deceive both families, which would allow them to move freely in and out of both the Jakarawut and Rangsarit homes and offices. Sansayakorn refuses because he already has a girlfriend, Rangsima, but Nikki keeps pressing him and tells him to just explain the truth to Rangsima. He refuses to go along with it.
Nikki asks Nimman for permission to use the Jakarawut seaside house in Hua Hin. Nimman secretly plots for Nikki and Sansayakorn to meet there, and when the two get drunk and fall asleep, she orders Rewat to strip them and photograph them together, intending to use the pictures as evidence that Sansayakorn raped Nikki if the Rangsarit family ever files a lawsuit. Meanwhile, Roeng, Toi, Dear, and Rangsima prank Nikki by abandoning her on a deserted island, which turns dangerous when someone tries to kill her. Sansayakorn arrives just in time to save her. Nikki falls ill, and Sansayakorn cares for her. Nimman then orders her men to brutally beat Sansayakorn and records a clip to show Kampanat on the night he and Nimman dance together, telling him this is revenge for the time Kampanat once had Nitsee beaten nearly to death at that same house.
At Nikki’s debut as the sole heir of the Jakarawut family, she and Sansayakorn—who have agreed to work together to find the person trying to destroy members of both families—publicly announce that they are dating in front of the guests. Nimman and Kampanat do not believe them, so Nikki pulls Sansayakorn in and kisses him to make it convincing. Everyone is stunned, but the one most hurt is Rangsima. Even when Sansayakorn explains that he and Nikki are only pretending to date, Rangsima cannot accept it. She begins transforming herself into a bold and confident woman, and at the same time Roengritta grows closer to her, comforting her, and the two begin to fall for each other.
Sansayakorn starts to rebel against his family because he can no longer accept the dirty tricks his father uses against the Jakarawuts. He brings Nikki into both the workplace and the family home despite the displeasure of Kampanat, Banlue, and Khoranee. Nikki grows suspicious of Banlue because she has seen him secretly contacting Rewat. She sneaks into Banlue’s room to investigate, is caught, and Sansayakorn has to save her from trouble. Eventually, Nikki and Sansayakorn discover that Rewat and Banlue are secretly lovers.
As Sansayakorn and Nikki grow closer, he begins to sense her vulnerability and her longing for the love of a father who was never close to her. He finds himself genuinely falling for her. His once rigid, rule-bound way of life starts to change. He enjoys going on adventures with Nikki, enjoys watching his loyal subordinate Dome bicker flirtatiously with Pang, and begins to feel freer and happier because of Nikki.
Kampanat learns of the secret relationship between Banlue and Rewat and orders Banlue to end it, ashamed to have a gay younger brother. But the two insist on staying together. Kampanat sends his men to attack Rewat, nearly beating him to death, but Banlue intervenes and is badly beaten as well. This incident leads Banlue and Rewat to decide to live openly together and declare their independence, refusing to obey Kampanat any longer.
Roeng begins planning to open a restaurant to prove to Rangsima that he is capable. Khoranee begs Sansayakorn for financial help. Sansayakorn agrees on the condition that Khoranee not tell Roeng the money came from him, because Roeng does not think highly of him. The restaurant nearly fails for lack of a chef, but eventually Sansayakorn asks Pang and Dome to help with the food and management. The business begins to thrive, and Rangsima starts feeling more and more positively toward Roeng. Meanwhile, Sansayakorn and Nikki investigate the past romance between Khoranee and Nitsee, as well as Patricia, Nikki’s mother, whose story seems increasingly suspicious. Nikki follows Nuengnit to a house in Pranburi and sees many pictures of Patricia and Nuengnit together, but not a single photo of Nitsee. This causes everyone to become suspicious, but Nuengnit refuses to say anything and sends them all away.
Sansayakorn and Rangsima come to understand each other and accept their true feelings for Nikki and Roeng respectively, freeing each other emotionally. Rangsima starts helping Sansayakorn investigate the truth behind the “R” button. Before she can tell Nikki that she saw Thom picking up the button at the funeral, Thom throws her into the path of Nikki’s speeding car, leaving Rangsima critically injured. Roeng becomes consumed with rage, while Nikki is made to look like a jealous woman who tried to kill Rangsima.
Nikki sneaks into Nuengnit’s room again looking for more evidence about Nitsee and Patricia, but Nuengnit catches her. He finally confesses the truth: he is Nikki’s real father. Nitsee had only pretended to claim her as his own in order to get revenge on Nimman for controlling everyone’s lives, because in reality Nitsee was sterile and could not have children. Nimman overhears the entire truth and is heartbroken.
Thom tries to kill Rangsima to silence her, but Khoranee stops him because she knows Rangsima is the woman Roeng loves. Thom and Khoranee are increasingly cornered when Roeng sees them in bed together. Roeng is horrified that his mother is involved with the driver and beats Thom severely. At last, Khoranee can no longer endure it and reveals the truth: Thom is Roeng’s real father. Roeng is devastated and tries to tell Kampanat, but Thom strikes him on the head with a bottle and knocks him unconscious.
Thom and Khoranee then go after Nikki, forcing her to write a fake suicide note and transfer her inheritance to Roeng. Nikki tries to explain the truth about Nitsee’s will and insists that Nitsee was never her father, and that he loved only Khoranee all along and never married another woman. Sansayakorn arrives to save Nikki and demands that Khoranee and Thom confess everything. At that moment Nimman walks in and tries to call the police, but Thom and Khoranee seize Nikki as a hostage and abduct her to the Jakarawut house in Hua Hin to question her again about Nitsee. Nikki reveals that Nitsee left Khoranee because he found out she had betrayed him by becoming pregnant by another man, even though Nitsee himself was sterile.
Kampanat and Nimman arrive and demand that Khoranee confess who made her pregnant. She says it was Thom, who raped her. When the truth comes out, Thom takes the opportunity to seize Nimman as a hostage, but Rewat intervenes to save her and is shot dead. Thom escapes, leaving Nimman and Banlue shattered by Rewat’s death.
Having learned a painful lesson from losing Rewat, Nimman begs Nikki to accept Nuengnit as her father. Meanwhile, Khoranee takes Roeng to meet Thom and asks Roeng to accept Thom as his father and call him “father” just once. Roeng agrees, not knowing it will be their last meeting: Thom shoots himself, and Khoranee takes poison. Roeng is devastated by the loss of both parents, but Rangsima remains by his side as his source of strength.
Kampanat and Nimman finally learn that revenge has brought nothing but loss. They decide to keep Khoranee’s ashes beside Nitsee’s, and both families agree to make peace and end their feud. Roengritta thanks Sansayakorn after learning that he was the one who had always meant well and had funded Roeng’s restaurant. Roeng begins a new life with Rangsima. Kampanat and Nimman reconcile and seem ready to start new business ventures together.
A year later, Sansayakorn and Nikki happily return to celebrate Songkran on Khaosan Road once again.
