Synopsis
This drama tells the story of Thorung (Benz-Pornchita), a charming young woman and the only daughter of Narent Wisetwerot (Ui-Kriangkrai), a businessman who owns hotels and department stores. She gives up her job as a tour guide in France and immediately returns to Thailand when she learns that her father has mysteriously lost his sanity and has been confined to a psychiatric hospital.
Krongkan (Nok-Jariya), Narent’s business partner and the person behind his illness, learns that Thorung is returning to Thailand and immediately begins plotting to get rid of her. But Thorung senses the danger, stays cautious, and manages to escape every time. Totrakul (Aun-Witthaya), Krongkan’s eldest son, discovers the truth and is shocked that his own mother could be so cruel, so he tries to help Thorung.
Meanwhile, Thorung searches for a way to cure her father. However, she does not realize that Dr. Pithan (Duke-Phanudet), the doctor treating her father, is actually on Krongkan’s side. He diagnoses Narent’s condition as stress caused by work-related conflict with Totrakul. Seizing the opportunity, he introduces Totrakul to Thorung. But based on what she has learned from her aunt Premyuda about Krongkan’s family, Thorung distrusts him and angrily lashes out at Totrakul.
Thorung then returns to the Wisetwerot household and announces that she will take over her father’s position. This enrages Krongkan. Thorung begins investigating Krongkan’s Butterfly Tour business and discovers many suspicious irregularities. Krongkan is furious that Thorung is cutting off her source of profit. Meanwhile, Totrakul continues protecting Thorung, and without realizing it, the two gradually become emotionally attached to one another.
Eventually, Thorung falls victim to Krongkan’s scheme when Krongkan slips sedatives into her food, just as she had once done to Narent. Feeling guilty toward Thorung, Totrakul offers to care for her closely. His devotion slowly begins to break down the walls around her heart, while he also tries to uncover the true cause of her worsening condition.
Thorung’s condition continues to deteriorate until she suffers delusions and hallucinations. She is taken and confined to a psychiatric hospital. She tries desperately to prove to everyone that she is not insane, but no one believes her except Totrakul.
As for Dr. Pithan, he hands over responsibility for Thorung’s care to Ekawi (Penpetch). Ekawi becomes suspicious of why Pithan has been injecting such excessive amounts of sedatives, so he begins investigating the truth. At the same time, he secretly treats both Thorung and Narent, and their conditions gradually begin to improve. Fueled by vengeance, Thorung decides to teach Krongkan—a woman known as the mother of the man she loves—a bitter lesson.
In the end, Thorung must choose between love and revenge. And Totrakul must find a way to extinguish the flames of hatred in the heart of the woman he loves.
