Synopsis
Payu (Chakrit Yamnam) is a good-humored young man with a perfect social standing. He is the only son of Mekha (Noppon Gomarachun), a righteous politician and the prospective future Prime Minister of Thailand. Although Payu lost his mother at a young age, the love and warmth provided by his father made up for the loss perfectly. Payu and Mekha are very close and understand each other deeply. Even when Mekha begins dating Napha (Sinjai Plengpanich), Payu has no objections and happily supports their relationship.
Napha is a widow whose husband passed away. She is a police doctor and the tough commander of the Special Investigation Unit. She is an incredibly strong and highly self-confident woman—so much so that her only daughter, Fah (Khemupsorn Sirisukha), blames her for driving her father, Akat (Songsit Rungnoppakun), to suicide. As a result, Fah isolates herself to live alone as soon as she graduates with a master's degree in computer science. She works as a programmer and secretly operates as a professional hacker, completely cutting off ties with her mother, Napha, and the outside world.
Then, an event occurs that flips Payu and Fah's destinies upside down. All of Payu's friends are murdered at his own master's degree celebration party after his return from America. The evidence points to Payu, as the murder weapon is found in his hand. However, he denies all charges. He can only remember feeling hurt that his father, Mekha, had been acting distant, which led him to drink heavily until he passed out. He woke up to find all his friends dead and himself framed as a murderer. Meanwhile, Fah is arrested on charges of being a hacker and the mastermind of a drug syndicate luring the youth, also with seemingly clear evidence. This brings immense agony to Mekha and Napha, who publicly announce that they will not provide any assistance to either of them.
But beneath the shadow of misfortune, a stroke of luck remains. Both Payu and Fah survive an assassination attempt on the day they are being transferred to prison. Payu and Fah escape into a local slum community where they meet Torrung (Ratchawin Wongviriya), a spunky but kind-hearted orphan. She is being chased by Lieutenant Kram (Pasut Banyam), a passionate young officer from the Special Investigation Unit, who mistakenly believes she is a local drug ringleader. Circumstances force the three of them to flee together. Amidst a relentless, earth-shattering manhunt by "The Organization," the trio uses their intelligence and quick wits to survive every close call. Along the way, romantic bonds begin to form between the two women and the young man: Payu becomes determined to win Fah's heart, while Torrung has to suppress her growing feelings for Payu.
Soon, Torrung forces a confession out of a captured hitman, revealing the truth that he works for "The Organization." Payu and Fah decide to demand the truth from their parents. Fah sneaks in to see Napha first, lashing out at her for her lack of trust. Napha uses this opportunity to call the police to arrest Fah. In the ensuing chaos, Torrung is arrested by Lt. Kram, while Fah barely manages to escape.
Meanwhile, Payu sneaks in to meet Mekha and discovers the truth about "The Organization." It is a group of highly influential people in Thai society who control the economy and politics under the direction of four core leaders: On-in (Suangsuda Lawanprasert), Aisoon (Anuwat Niwatwong), Tawan (Jason Young), and a fourth leader whom Mekha had kept a secret—Mekhin. Mekhin is Mekha's identical twin brother, whom Mekha had hidden away for psychiatric treatment on an island in the Gulf of Thailand. However, Mekhin has now disguised himself as Mekha, using Payu and Fah as pawns to eliminate the other three leaders so he can seize absolute power for himself—and his plan is succeeding.
Payu and Fah use all their skills to take down the organization's leaders one by one, starting with Tawan, then On-in, and finally Aisoon. Upon taking down Aisoon, Payu and Fah are shocked to their cores when Aisoon exposes everything, especially the fact that Mekhin has been impersonating Mekha. Fah uses her brilliant technological skills to track down the location of the psychiatric facility. Fah, Payu, Torrung, and Lt. Kram then team up to rescue the real Mekha.
The moment everything is exposed, Mekhin takes Mekha hostage. The two brothers fight, making it impossible to tell who is who. Eventually, a gun falls right in front of Napha. She picks it up and pulls the trigger without hesitation, completely confident that she hasn't shot the wrong man. She knows the real Mekha would never yell at her to shoot Mekhin, because he wouldn't be able to bear seeing his twin brother killed right in front of him.
As for the love stories of the four young people—Fah, Payu, Lt. Kram, and Torrung—viewers will have to tune in to see how they conclude in the blockbuster drama Nuer Mek (Beyond the Clouds). Broadcasts every Monday and Tuesday at 8:30 PM. The first episode premieres on Tuesday, March 16, 2010, on Channel 3.
