Synopsis
Everyone has dreams of their own, whether child or adult. But when people reach the age of physical and emotional change, teenagers on the path to adulthood often struggle with both their strengths and insecurities. This is true for Wansai, a 16-year-old girl who cannot find a single thing special about herself. She is clumsy, old-fashioned, insecure, bad at sports, poor at school, and hopeless at music and art. On top of that, she wakes up late all the time, so her mother Nirawan and her mischievous younger brother Win always have to wake her up so she will not be late for school. Wansai does not like going to school very much because she always feels bad whenever she sees Thatsanai, the cool and kind upperclassman admired by everyone. Wansai secretly has a crush on him too, but a girl as unremarkable as she is could never possibly catch his eye.
But Wansai’s sad life changes when she goes to Khao Yai with her family to watch a meteor shower. Thatsanai is there too, and Wansai learns that he is very interested in astronomy. As countless shooting stars streak across the sky, Wansai quickly makes a wish that she might become someone who could make Thatsanai notice her. But then the unexpected happens. Instead of an ordinary meteor shower, a giant meteor suddenly falls from the sky, sending everyone running in panic. Wansai gets separated from the others and comes across a sparkling pink meteor fragment. She picks it up, not knowing that it is a miraculous object about to grant her an unbelievable dream.
Nirawan and Win are relieved when Wansai returns safely. But after the meteor shower, there is strangely no news or trace at all of the meteor that fell. Wansai begins hearing strange voices in her room, as if someone is calling her. At the same time, strange incidents occur at her school when several female students suddenly turn old for no apparent reason, terrifying everyone. Wansai becomes suspicious and quietly begins investigating on her own, discovering many bizarre things she cannot explain. Eventually she learns that the meteor fragment she picked up is alive and has been trying to talk to her. Wansai is shocked to find that there is a young woman inside it. The woman tells her that she is Gee, the controller of the evil forces in the stream of meteors in the sky. But the meteor shower that night caused her to fall to Earth along with DT (Destroy Star), a black female meteor who is evil and cunning.
Gee believes that the strange incidents at Wansai’s school may be DT’s doing, so she gives Wansai her power to investigate the truth. Using Gee’s meteor-fragment power, Wansai transforms into a beautiful girl with superpowers. She tests her abilities and finds that she can run faster than a car, possesses tremendous strength, and can pass through objects, along with many other powers she happily explores while in the body of a superpowered young woman. She names this new form Wonder Gee and begins investigating the mysterious school incidents. She discovers that they really are the work of the black meteor DT. When Gee and DT fell to Earth, both lost their powers. DT therefore tries to regain strength by using Milin, a girl full of jealousy, as a medium to gather power for her. In her Wonder Gee form, Wansai arrives just in time to save Thatsanai before he becomes Milin’s victim, leaving him astonished and impressed by the magical girl who saves his life.
DT orders Milin to deal with Wansai just as she did with the other girls, but Milin is no match for Wansai’s power. Wansai destroys DT’s power and believes she has succeeded in defeating her. Gee is relieved, thinking that evil has finally been eliminated, so she asks to stay with Wansai until her own power returns and she can go back to the sky. But neither Wansai nor Gee realizes that DT has not truly been destroyed. DT survives in the form of a star crystal hidden away in darkness, while fragments of her black meteor scatter everywhere, drawing on the dark powers of various constellations to cause chaos and gathering human evil to restore her strength so she can one day take revenge on Gee and Wansai. Thus Wonder Gee’s mission begins anew.
DT draws forth the dark side of the Wolf constellation, causing Ton, a weak young man, to become hot-tempered and violent, using teenage rage as a weapon to attack others and create turmoil.
She also awakens the dark side of the Cepheus constellation, influencing Chana to hand over his own daughter to a mafia boss to solve his problems, just as King Cepheus offered his daughter, Princess Andromeda, to Cetus, the sea monster.
Then comes the constellation Coma Berenices, resentful at being seen only as part of Leo’s tail. This affects Nikki, who is only a subordinate on the basketball team, and drives him to use dark power to make himself stand out and become the leader, regardless of who gets hurt in the process.
Every time Wansai goes out on a mission, her nosy younger brother Win grows more suspicious. Eventually, he sneaks into her room, finds the meteor fragment, and talks with Gee, learning the truth at last. Wansai begs him to keep it secret. Amused, Win agrees, but constantly follows Wonder Gee around and interferes with her missions for fun. Still, Wansai cannot solve every problem with Gee’s meteor-fragment power alone, and sometimes she falls into danger. Fortunately, the upperclassman Thatsanai often helps her and provides information about various star legends, enabling Wansai to understand and battle those dark stellar powers.
Eventually, Thatsanai starts to wonder why an awkward girl like Wansai is so interested in such things. At last, he discovers the truth: Wansai is Wonder Gee. This makes Wansai wonder whom Thatsanai truly likes — Wansai, the clumsy and unremarkable girl, or Wonder Gee, the magical heroine. How will her fight against evil and her love story move forward together? Wansai herself cannot yet imagine the answer. Only time can tell.
