Synopsis

On the night of a grand wedding celebration, Prajan (Rangsiroj Phanpheng), a young northern businessman of great wealth and influence, is happily drinking in celebration of his wedding night. Meanwhile, Kontong (Jiranan Manojam), his bride, sits alone in silence in her room, heartbroken because her mother, Lamai (Duangdao Jarujinda), forced her into the marriage.
But the celebration comes to an abrupt end before Prajan can even react. Inthorn (Asadawut Luangsuntorn) secretly storms in and abducts Kontong from the bridal chamber. His loyal followers, Sangphlo (Nawapol Phuwadol) and Plai Bunmee, help him escape with her into the dark forest on elephant-back. Prajan is enraged and sets out to hunt down the man who has humiliated him by stealing away his bride.
When Kontong regains consciousness, she finds herself lying on the back of an elephant deep in the forest. During the many days of travel, she is constantly taunted and tormented by Inthorn, a rugged young man with a thick beard, though she has no idea why he has kidnapped her and imprisoned her in Pa So Village, a remote settlement hidden deep in the jungle and nearly impossible to reach.
Kontong becomes the center of attention in the village, but no one dares interfere because they know she belongs to Father Inthorn. The only exception is Meijiang (Orawan Thaanwiset), the village temptress who is in love with Inthorn and therefore schemes to harass and drive Kontong out. Fortunately, Alatae (Nichanun Fankaew), a kind-hearted and beautiful young woman whom Inthorn trusts to look after Kontong, repeatedly helps and protects her just in time.
Many times, Kontong cannot help wondering why the villagers love and revere Inthorn almost like a father. In time, she learns the answer: Inthorn is the one who helps everyone in the village — with farming, medicine, and teaching the children. The young woman quickly realizes that Inthorn cannot possibly be an ordinary jungle man. During the time she spends in the village, Kontong learns about many cultural traditions and customs. Without realizing it, the bond between Inthorn and Kontong begins to grow, and by now she has almost completely forgotten her city life. The more the two of them work together to improve the village, the more the villagers adore them both.
This causes Pasuay (Sittichai Phabchomphu), an unruly and ambitious young man who wants to become village leader himself, to grow resentful. Worse still, he commits a terrible crime by abducting Masayong (Mangpor Chonthicha), raping her, and killing Pajo (Noppol Pitaklopanich), Masayong’s lover. Inthorn is furious, but he does not want Pasuay’s evil blood to stain the earth, so he orders him banished from the village. Filled with hatred, Pasuay vows to return one day for revenge and seize leadership of the village.
Meanwhile, Prajan and his group continue their journey through the deep forest, guided by Hunter Duang. One night Prajan comes across Pasuay and saves him. In return, Pasuay joins their side and offers to guide Prajan into Pa So Village so he can reclaim Kontong.
At the same time, Kontong finally decides to ask Inthorn why he abducted her in the first place. The question makes him visibly sorrowful, and he tells her his painful past. He once married the woman he loved, Tubtim, but before they could even spend their wedding night, Tubtim was raped by Prajan. In the chaos, Inthorn unknowingly became the killer of his own beloved and has wandered ever since, living as a man of the jungle. Hearing this, Kontong feels deep pity and sympathy for him.
Then the day comes when Prajan finally reaches Pa So Village. Inthorn orders the villagers not to resist, because he knows exactly why Prajan has come. He takes Kontong and flees to Hup Sang, the “Valley of Death,” a deadly ravine no one dares enter. Prajan is furious that the villagers refuse to tell him the truth, and in his rage he burns several houses. The villagers condemn Pasuay as a traitor for betraying them. Prajan then uses Pa So Village as his base for hunting down Inthorn, and during that time he meets Alatae, who is grieving Inthorn’s departure. Alatae’s goodness and sincerity make Prajan begin to admire her without realizing it.
In Hup Sang, hardship brings Inthorn and Kontong even closer, and they eventually become lovers there. Just then, Prajan discovers their hiding place and attacks. He is stunned when he sees Inthorn’s face. The two men engage in a fierce, frenzied fight before the truth is finally revealed: Inthorn is actually Prajet, Prajan’s younger brother, who mysteriously disappeared long ago.
Once the truth comes out, the brothers reconcile. Prajan asks Inthorn — or Prajet — to come back and live with him in the city, but Inthorn refuses, saying that Pa So is his true home. So Prajan takes Kontong back to the city with him, while she is unable to reveal the truth. Kontong is miserable in the city, while Inthorn is equally miserable, longing for her. Unable to bear seeing Inthorn suffer, Alatae goes to the city and reveals everything.
When Prajan meets Alatae again, he realizes that he loves her. Once he understands that Kontong and Inthorn truly love each other, he agrees to let Kontong return to Pa So Village. Although Khunying Lamai objects, Kontong tells her that she has already done so much for her mother — now she asks to do something for her own heart. Lamai has no choice but to let Kontong go.
Kontong returns to Pa So Village and lives happily with Inthorn, becoming his beloved Mae Sri Phrai and remaining forever cherished by the people of Pa So.
