Chao Sao Rim Thang

This is the story of a young woman born with beauty and talent, yet forced to live a life of hardship and struggle. She eventually meets a handsome, perfect young man—who happens to treat women as mere playthings. However, fate plays a joke on them, forcing the two to live together in a fake marriage. Slowly, he witnesses her inherent goodness and pure heart. By the time he realizes it, the young man discovers that this remarkably beautiful woman has taught a highly experienced playboy like him the true meaning of love.
M Fitness is a luxurious, five-star fitness center packed with members working out. The most popular activity is an aerobics class led by a beautiful, fit trainer named Rasa. Coming from a poor family, Rasa is a hardworking girl who pushed herself to earn a bachelor's degree. Despite her intelligence and capabilities, she lacked the right connections and had to work as a fitness and yoga trainer. Still, she strives to do her job exceptionally well, earning praise from many members, including Wisanu, the owner of a famous car dealership.
Wisanu is a kind, wealthy, educated man who loves working out. He is captivated not only by Rasa’s excellent training skills but also by her lovely personality. Rasa recognizes him because he is a regular at the gym. One day after work, a male member who had been hitting on Rasa tries to harass and proposition her. Wisanu steps in to help, ending up in a fistfight with the man. Deeply touched by his kindness, Rasa agrees to be his friend, though Wisanu is hoping for much more.
Rasa gives almost her entire salary to Samorn, her stepmother. Samorn raised her from childhood after Rasa’s biological mother passed away. After Rasa graduated, her father also died, leaving Samorn as Rasa's only family. Rasa pays for the education of Mint, Samorn’s daughter from a previous marriage. However, Mint squanders Rasa’s hard-earned money on expensive clothes and makeup, acts out, and skips school. Instead of reprimanding Mint, Samorn spoils her. Out of gratitude to her stepmother, Rasa endures the situation silently. Samorn constantly guilt-trips Rasa, forcing her to sacrifice everything for Mint. Rasa becomes the sole breadwinner for the entire household, which includes Phadet, Samorn’s new husband.
Phadet is a terrible stepfather who not only leeches off Rasa but also tries to sexually harass her whenever he gets the chance. Rasa dares not tell Samorn, knowing her stepmother is blindly infatuated with her new husband. Rasa is forced to protect herself, with Wisanu occasionally stepping in to help.
Enter Akkarin, a wealthy, handsome, well-educated playboy who is every woman's dream. He has never seriously considered marriage and doesn't even know how to love. His grandfather, Amnat, decides it's time to teach his grandson a lesson and straighten him out.
Amnat forces Akkarin to marry in exchange for the right to manage M Fitness, the family’s renowned business. Akkarin quickly accepts the challenge, assuming it will be easy for a charmer like him to find a bride. Meanwhile, On-uma, Akkarin’s younger sister, hastily announces her marriage to her fiancé to pressure her brother, as she also wants the top executive position at M Fitness. Akkarin tries to pick a bride from his usual flings, such as Nam Petch, a famous high-society socialite, or Chidjai, an employee who frequently throws herself at him. However, all these women have flaws he can't tolerate—from loud snoring and terrible table manners to simply wanting him for his money. Akkarin becomes severely stressed, never imagining that finding a bride would be this difficult.
When Akkarin meets Rasa, he is struck by her beauty. But seeing men casually flirting with her, he looks down on her, assuming she is easily bought. He doesn't realize that Rasa is only talking to them out of professional courtesy; she actually conducts herself very properly. Akkarin playfully flirts with her, believing no woman could resist a perfect man like him. However, Rasa sees through his condescending attitude and ignores him. Despite the rejection, Akkarin persists, secretly admiring her good manners—something his usual flings severely lack.
One day, Ying-ruay visits the fitness center, takes a liking to Rasa, and drunkenly harasses her. Rasa defends herself by kicking him in the groin. Without listening to her side of the story, On-uma fires Rasa. Samorn is furious that Rasa lost her job. Later, Phadet tries to harass Rasa again, but Samorn catches them. Instead of getting mad at Phadet, Samorn blames Rasa for seducing him and kicks her out of the house. Walking aimlessly in the pouring rain, Rasa is nearly raped by a thug, but Akkarin happens to drive by and saves her just in time. Back home, Samorn gets into a fight with Phadet and falls off the house, requiring emergency surgery. Mint blames Rasa and forces her to find the money to pay for the operation. Rasa considers asking Wisanu for help but backs off when she discovers he is busy preparing for his wedding to On-uma.
With his grandfather's deadline approaching, Akkarin decides to hire Rasa as his fake wife to fool Amnat. The contract states she must live with him for one year as his wife in name only. Once he officially takes over the family business, he will divorce her and pay her 2 million baht, with 1 million paid upfront. Having no other choice and desperate for money to save Samorn's life, Rasa agrees. Akkarin uses the fact that he saved her and paid for the surgery to guilt her into it, refusing to admit to himself that he is actually deeply attracted to her.
Akkarin gives Rasa a complete makeover, transforming her into a sophisticated, high-class woman. They manage to marry at the exact same time as Wisanu and On-uma. Phakpilai, Akkarin's mother, is highly disappointed that her daughter-in-law isn't a high-society lady. However, Grandpa Amnat is very pleased with Rasa because she is intelligent and knowledgeable. He declares that if Akkarin and Rasa stay together for a full year, he will hand over the business. On-uma is furious that Rasa easily won over the strict grandfather.
In front of others, Akkarin acts like a deeply loving husband. But behind closed doors, he constantly insults Rasa, treating her like a cheap woman and harassing her on a whim. Rasa is deeply hurt by his contempt. Meanwhile, after her surgery, Samorn is left partially paralyzed and unable to walk, though her sharp tongue remains intact. Phadet constantly extorts money from Rasa, threatening to abandon Samorn if she doesn't pay. Kratae gossips to Phakpilai that Phadet is Rasa's ex-boyfriend. Mint, having been expelled from school and bored of taking care of her mother, forces her way into living with Rasa. Bound by gratitude to Samorn, Rasa reluctantly takes her in. Predictably, Mint causes even more massive problems for Rasa in the household.
At Amnat's birthday party, Nam Petch performs a traditional blessing dance and openly flirts with Akkarin. Akkarin insults her, causing Rasa to feel unexpectedly jealous. In retaliation, Rasa performs an aerobic dance routine to embarrass Akkarin, but Amnat ends up loving it. Akkarin misunderstands, thinking Ying-ruay is Rasa's ex-boyfriend, and beats him to a pulp out of jealous rage. Akkarin declares he will have her willingly, but Rasa retorts that it will never happen.
Mint sets her sights on Akkarin, wanting to steal him from her sister, and constantly throws herself at him, but he ignores her. She then turns her charms on Wisanu, leading to frequent clashes with On-uma. Mint is fearless and arrogant. She spreads rumors that Rasa has been with many men, including Wisanu. Akkarin gets into a fistfight with Wisanu over this. Wisanu declares that the moment Rasa chooses him, he will gladly marry her. Akkarin retorts that he will never let her go. On-uma becomes suspicious of Wisanu and Rasa, but Wisanu covers it up; despite his deep feelings for Rasa, he never truly intends to divorce his wife.
To ensure Akkarin is mature enough to handle the business, Amnat demands he and Rasa have a child. Rasa tells Akkarin she will absolutely never sleep with him. Akkarin comes up with a plan to fake a pregnancy to fool his grandfather for the time being. Phakpilai is devastated by the "pregnancy" and does everything to force a breakup. Nam Petch constantly meddles with Akkarin. On-uma accuses Rasa of having an affair with Phadet, but Akkarin knows the truth, ignores her, and warns Phadet to stop extorting Rasa. Rasa is silently moved by Akkarin's constant protection and care.
Unable to win Rasa's heart, Wisanu starts showing his true, darker colors. He tries to force himself on her, but Mint catches them. Hoping Wisanu will turn his attention to her instead, Mint intervenes, only for On-uma to walk in. On-uma attacks Mint, causing chaos in the house. Rasa forces Mint to move back in with their mother, making Mint furious. In retaliation, Phadet brings Samorn to expose Rasa's past, revealing that she is the daughter of Samorn's former husband and not some high-class lady. Surprisingly, Amnat recalls that Rasa's biological father actually had aristocratic roots. Phakpilai demands Akkarin divorce Rasa, unable to bear a former employee as a daughter-in-law, but Akkarin refuses. Amnat defends Rasa, stating there is nothing shameful about being an honest fitness trainer.
As time passes, On-uma notices Rasa's belly isn't growing. Akkarin helps by providing a woven food cover (fa-chi) for Rasa to wear under her clothes to fake a bump. Rasa is deeply stressed about lying to everyone. Akkarin suggests that getting pregnant for real would solve everything. He playfully wrestles with her, but driven by their mutual love, they finally consummate their marriage. Akkarin is surprised to find she is a virgin but feels too shy to say "I love you." Rasa is heartbroken, believing he doesn't love her the way she loves him. On-uma constantly insults Rasa, but Rasa endures it to avoid causing trouble for Akkarin and Amnat. On-uma tries to prove she is more fit to run the business because she has a perfect family. However, her world shatters when Chidjai shows up pregnant, demanding Wisanu fulfill his promise to marry her.
On-uma violently attacks Chidjai, who fights back aggressively. Rasa steps in to help On-uma. When the brawl ends, everyone is shocked to see Rasa's stomach completely flat, with the food cover lying on the floor nearby. Amnat appears furious. Rasa tells Akkarin their contract is over and leaves the house. Phakpilai urges Akkarin to divorce Rasa for good since they don't have a child. Akkarin apologizes to his grandfather for the lies, but Amnat reveals he knew all along—and also knew that Akkarin truly loves Rasa. Akkarin admits it, bitterly complaining that she never loved him. Amnat scolds his grandson for being an idiot, saying a woman like Rasa would never have signed a contract to marry him if she didn't love him.
Rasa gives the final 1 million baht from Akkarin to Samorn to repay her for raising her. She bitterly reproaches Samorn for never loving her. Samorn finally begins to feel remorse. Upon returning home, Samorn catches Phadet trying to rape Mint. Blinded by rage, Samorn attacks Phadet with a knife, accidentally killing him. Samorn is sent to prison.
Akkarin finds a job for Mint, telling her he's only helping for Rasa's sake and that she must learn to be responsible and stop being a burden. He searches everywhere for Rasa but can't find her. Finally, he sees a new advertisement featuring a model who looks exactly like Rasa. He tracks her down and finds her with a huge pregnant belly. Assuming it's the food cover again, he touches it, only to realize she is actually pregnant this time. Grandpa Amnat steps out and declares he's finally getting a real great-grandchild. He had been secretly taking care of Rasa the whole time but hid her from Akkarin to teach him a lesson about true love. Overjoyed, Akkarin begs for his wife's forgiveness until Rasa finally forgives him. The couple happily returns home.
Amnat hands the entire business over to Akkarin so he can spend all his time playing with his new great-grandchild. Phakpilai reluctantly accepts her daughter-in-law, having no other choice. Meanwhile, On-uma continues her vicious war with Chidjai to win Wisanu back.
Follow the intense drama in "Jao Sao Rim Tang" (Bride on the Sidewalk) every Friday to Sunday at 8:25 PM on Channel 7. The first episode premieres on Friday, November 5, 2010.
