Synopsis

Ramida (Fonthip Watcharatrakul), a sweet-faced young woman, waits at a kindergarten to pick up Man U (Chayanan Taowiset), her five-year-old son. She sees the little boy shoving another child of the same age to the ground. Ramida recognizes the other boy as Boy, the child who often gets into fights with Man U. She quickly runs over and pulls her son away before he can pounce on Boy again, while the teacher on duty rushes in to separate the two children. Ramida spends a long while helping settle the matter.
Once mother and son get into the car, both are sullen. Man U glares at “Mae Da,” not understanding why she is angry when Boy was the one who started it. Sulking, he refuses to eat the delicious snack she prepared for him. The car ride is completely silent, unlike their usual cheerful trips.
When they get home, Ramida immediately questions him. She is surprised that Man U insists he did nothing wrong. Reluctantly, she takes up a cane — she does not want to, but her stubborn little son needs discipline sometimes. She gives him one swat on the bottom. Tears welling up in his eyes, he sobs out:
“Boy teased me that I don’t have a father. He said if I live with just my mom, I’ll turn into a sissy. I told him it wasn’t true... but he wouldn’t stop teasing me... so I got mad and pushed him down...”
Ramida drops the cane and hugs him tightly, filled with pity. After handing Man U over to his nanny, she sits quietly, lost in memories of the past.
In truth, Man U is the son of Chansak (Surawut Maikan) and Sida (Parrampha Sukdaipueng). But his mother divorced Chansak and moved to America only a few months after Man U was born, leaving Chansak to raise the boy alone. Chansak is very wealthy, owning many plots of land and commercial buildings. Simply managing his assets is more than enough to provide for them. He is also fortunate to have his younger brother, Suriyon (Pathit Pisitkul), helping him.
Chansak is close friends with Suthep (Kriangkrai Unhanan), Ramida’s father. Suthep runs a restaurant and is an excellent chef, so the business is always full of customers. Chansak and Man U are regulars there, which is why they became so familiar with Ramida. Although she has a sweet face, Ramida wears her hair short and has a stylish, cool, almost tomboyish look — at a glance, she might even seem like a handsome young man. She is playful and mischievous, which is why she gets along so well with Man U, and the little boy becomes very attached to her.
Ramida understands and sympathizes with Man U’s life without a mother — because she herself grew up not knowing her own mother either. In her life, she had only her father, Suthep. Whenever she asked about her mother, Suthep would painfully explain: her mother had been the daughter of a wealthy family who did not want to struggle in poverty with a poor chef. So when Ramida was still a baby, she left and returned to her rich parents. Even more heartbreaking, Suthep only learned that she truly did not love either him or their daughter when she sent someone close to her to arrange a meeting in a public park, claiming she wanted to run away with him again. But when the day came, she never appeared. Instead, a group of thugs arrived — people sent to get rid of Suthep and baby Ramida. He had to flee for their lives, carrying his daughter in his arms.
Soon afterward, Suthep heard that Ramida’s mother had remarried — to the son of a hotel owner. From then on, he devoted himself to running his restaurant and raising Ramida alone. She never disappointed him. Not only was she an excellent student, but she also inherited remarkable cooking skills. Suthep had carried her into the kitchen since she was a child, so her cooking became every bit as good as his. She can cook everything well, but her true specialty is Chinese cuisine.
Seeing how attached his son is to Ramida, Chansak wishes that Man U could finally have a mother and a warm family like other children. But he has never found anyone who loves and cares for his son the way she does. Having watched Ramida for a long time and fallen in love with her, Chansak becomes convinced of her goodness and asks her to marry him. Suthep fully supports the match.
Not long after, however, Suthep falls seriously ill. Chansak helps Ramida bring him to the hospital, but his condition rapidly worsens. Before he dies, Suthep tells Ramida the truth: her mother’s name is Naina (Supattra Tiwanon), the youngest daughter of Songyot (Ad Sombat Metanee) and Suree, owners of the Jester Hotel. After marrying Siri (Toon Hiranyasap), the only heir of the owner of Siam Cosmo Hotel, Naina became fully involved in managing Siam Cosmo. Both are luxury five-star hotels.
Suthep decides to tell Ramida the truth because he does not want her to become involved with anyone from that family — no matter who they are.
After Ramida takes care of her father’s funeral and finishes her mourning period, Chansak begins making preparations for their wedding. Ramida is lucky that both Man U and Suriyon accept her warmly. But only three days before the wedding, tragedy strikes: Chansak dies in an accident. Ramida and Suriyon must then help arrange his funeral while caring for Man U together.
Chansak had been a very careful man and had prepared a will in advance. Suriyon, Man U, and Ramida all inherit enough property to live comfortably for the rest of their lives. As for Ramida, she truly loves Man U. She devotes herself to raising and caring for the little boy as if he were her own child. She does everything a mother should: taking him to and from school every day, cooking all his meals herself, and creating a life that is smooth, warm, and happy.
But the incident at school today leaves Ramida troubled. When Suriyon comes to see her, he finds her sitting there with a worried expression. She tells him everything, because they are very close. Suriyon is both a good friend and a kind older brother figure to her, and he has never thought of her in any other way. Ramida wants Man U to grow up without an inferiority complex and with as much happiness as possible. Suriyon does not want her to worry too much, since Man U is still very young — but he promises that he will help her in every way he can.
