Synopsis
Because of the marks of love and hatred she left on his heart, he became a cold-hearted man who uses money and power to buy everything — even love itself. What he does not know is that she is willing to sell her dignity to him in order to repay the kindness of her beloved parents and older brother. When the two meet again, the shadows of the past return with them, along with a new bond that is difficult to escape.
At a party in a luxurious suite in a high-rise building in the heart of New York City, Wisawet, a cold-blooded young businessman, is enjoying himself as he aggressively buys up failing businesses only to resell them for profit. In Wisawet’s world, everything can be bought with money. That is his definition of life — even love. He constantly has beautiful women, models, and actresses on his arm, never the same one twice. Whatever they want, Wisawet can buy for them without limit. But every woman who becomes involved with him knows his rules well: never expect a permanent relationship, no commitments of any kind, and no emotional attachment. Both sides are simply there to enjoy themselves. When the relationship ends, the women have only two choices — walk away empty-handed, or walk away with a check signed by him. That is the offer Wisawet gives his latest companion at the party.
There is only one woman who can tolerate Wisawet’s behavior: Lucy, the daughter of Than Chai Apinop and a Western mother. Lucy pretends not to notice his behavior and remains Wisawet’s most publicly visible companion.
Wisawet then receives an email from Wainik, his younger half-brother, urgently asking him to return to Thailand. Wainik says that the textile factory, which produces fabric for both domestic and international markets and which Wisawet entrusted to him, is in trouble. Wisawet is the eldest son of Wimala and a wealthy businessman who owned several resorts in southern Thailand. After divorcing Wisawet’s father, Wimala married Wainik’s father, who was younger than she was, but that marriage also ended because of her controlling nature, strictness, and obsession with perfection in every aspect of life. After Wisawet’s father died and left his entire inheritance to him, Wainik came to love and respect his older brother deeply. To him, Wisawet is not just a brother, but also a father figure and an idol.
Wisawet is furious when he returns and discovers that the factory is not actually in trouble at all. Instead, Wainik only wanted his brother’s help in speaking to their mother about a woman he loves. The problem is that this woman is only an employee at the factory — and worse, she is a widow with a child. Wisawet immediately concludes that his naïve younger brother is about to be trapped by a woman. So he tells Wainik to bring her for him to see.
But Wisawet is stunned when he meets Anchisa, the woman Wainik loves. The woman standing before him brings flooding back all the painful memories, the love and hatred buried in his heart — memories from six years earlier in New York.
