Synopsis
Janchai (Aum Patchrapa Chaichua) is the daughter of a police officer who has harbored deep vengeance since childhood. The same goes for Parn-duen (Yui Chiranan Manochaem) and Thiwa (Sun Prachakorn Piyasakulkaew), who grew up in police families. Janchai witnessed her own father and Parn-duen's father being shot to death by drug traffickers right before her eyes. Nuan (Tum Rosarin Jantra), the mother of Parn-duen and Thiwa, adopted Janchai. The three of them grew up loving each other like real siblings, treating Janchai as the protective older sister.
After graduation, Parn-duen and Janchai join the police force in the same female cadet class. They are sent to train under Captain Anon (Weir Sukollawat Kanarot), a handsome detective from the Crime Suppression Division. Parn-duen falls in love with Anon at first sight, contrasting sharply with Janchai, who absolutely dislikes him. During their field training, Janchai showcases her skills and constantly helps others, earning the love and respect of her peers over Parn-duen. Parn-duen, being strictly by-the-book and disregarding camaraderie, is sidelined. Consequently, Anon chooses Janchai as his new assistant to replace Pailin (Amy Amika Bouher), a police informant who was murdered by drug dealers. This causes Parn-duen to mistakenly believe her sister is trying to steal Anon. Fueled by jealousy, she teams up with Captain Chatchawal (Krittaphas Saksitanon), Anon's rival detective, to constantly sabotage Janchai's team during arrests.
Later, Anon's team is assigned to capture Phupha (Keng Chartchai Ngamsan), a major drug lord. However, Chatchawal and Parn-duen hijack the operation, ruining the plan and nearly getting Janchai killed by Phupha. Fortunately, Janchai manages to save herself, but in a fit of pure rage over the murder of her and Parn-duen's fathers, she shoots Phupha dead! Her excessive use of force leads to disciplinary action. Anon begs Parn-duen to testify in Janchai's favor as it's the only way to clear her name. However, consumed by jealousy over Anon's concern for her sister, Parn-duen deliberately frames Janchai, leading to her imprisonment.
Although Phupha is dead, his henchmen relentlessly seek revenge against Parn-duen and Janchai, leading to their adoptive mother being brutally attacked and severely injured. This deepens Parn-duen's hatred for Janchai, blaming her for all the tragedies. After being released from prison, Janchai coldly hunts down and kills those who attacked her adoptive mother. Her repeated offenses get her dismissed from the police force. To make matters worse, Parn-duen publicly disowns Janchai as her sister. Thiwa pities Janchai but doesn't dare defy Parn-duen. With nowhere left to go, Janchai moves in with Somchai (Ball Chernyim), a former employee at Phupha's pub. They became close when she had gone undercover as a singer to investigate a case. Janchai and Somchai partner up to sell goods and become best friends.
Not long after, Wayu (Om Akkaphan Namart), Phupha's younger half-brother, takes over as the gang leader. Because Phupha had severely disrespected Wayu's mother, Wayu is more interested in seeking revenge on his late brother than eliminating enemies. He simply orders Methee (X Thitinun Suwansuk), Phupha's former right-hand man, to harass Janchai to the point where she can't make a living. Anon tries everything to help Janchai, but she rejects him every time, wanting him to love Parn-duen instead. Cornered, Janchai storms Wayu's place to settle the score. Her impressive fighting skills against Methee's men leave Wayu astounded; he wants her to work for him. Janchai refuses to engage in illegal activities. However, when Wayu is ambushed by enemies, Janchai happens to be there and protects him. Wayu then asks her to be his bodyguard, promising not to involve her in the drug trade and offering a massive sum of money for her mother's medical treatment. Janchai agrees. However, her presence displeases Jomkwan (Poy Paweena Tansrisuroj), Phupha's widow, and Methee, her secret lover. They are plotting to overthrow Wayu and seize power. Using her police instincts, Janchai sees right through their evil schemes and thwarts them at every turn.
With Janchai out of the way, Parn-duen tries everything to win Anon's heart, but fails. She also faces a new romantic rival: Dujdao (Kambum Pimpnipa Jittateeraroj), the daughter of Wicharn (Jeab Sakkarat Ruekthamrong), a powerful politician. Infatuated with Anon, Dujdao hires him as her bodyguard. Being frequently at Wicharn's house, Anon and Parn-duen learn that Janchai is working for Wayu. Wicharn, sensing Parn-duen's deep-seated vengeance against her sister, easily manipulates her into helping him eliminate Wayu's gang. Parn-duen vows to put Janchai behind bars. Unbeknownst to them, Wicharn also uses Methee and Jomkwan as moles to steal Wayu's secrets and constantly badmouth Janchai. Wayu ignores them, believing Janchai is a good person. Wicharn then has Ta Wei (Chen Nattawat Plengsiriwat), a minority drug ring leader, trick Wayu into a drug deal. On the delivery day, Ta Wei attacks Wayu, blinding him, and takes him hostage. Over time, Wayu manages to convince Ta Wei to switch sides, though Ta Wei's partners refuse. When it's time for the ransom exchange, Janchai volunteers to deliver the money. During the hand-off, Ta Wei signals Janchai to protect Wayu while he shoots his former partners dead, saving both Wayu and Janchai. This instantly forms a partnership between Wayu and Ta Wei.
While Wayu is blind, Janchai and Somchai take excellent care of him. Her kindness makes him fall deeply in love with her. Soon, Wayu's vision returns, but he pretends to still be blind to discover who his true enemies are. He figures out that Methee and Jomkwan are working for Wicharn but plays along. He then discovers that Parn-duen is also collaborating with Wicharn, leaking police movements to his drug syndicate so they can avoid capture in exchange for career advancements and Wicharn's help in killing Janchai. Parn-duen falls too deep into corruption to turn back.
Eventually, Methee lures Wayu, Janchai, and Somchai into a trap set by Parn-duen, with Anon and Sergeant Pong (Kom Chuanchuen) also on the team. Janchai faces Anon but chooses to protect Wayu, forcing Anon to retaliate. Fearing Janchai will be arrested, Wayu charges in to save her, shocking everyone when they realize he can see. Taking advantage of their surprise, he guns down several police officers. Devastated by the loss of his men, Anon frantically shoots at Wayu's fleeing car. Once safe, Janchai unleashes her fury on Wayu for lying about his eyesight. Filled with guilt, Wayu apologizes and promises to leave the criminal underworld entirely if Janchai agrees to spend her life with him. She coldly rejects him and walks away.
Meanwhile, Anon is pressured by his superiors to close Wayu's case. Coincidentally, Wayu shows up at Anon's apartment looking for Janchai. The two men nearly fight to the death, unaware that Janchai is in grave danger. She had gone to say a final goodbye to Mother Nuan at their old house. While mother and daughter tearfully embrace, Parn-duen appears and points a gun at Janchai right in front of their mother. Everyone is horrified and begs Janchai to run, but she surrenders peacefully to Parn-duen, who looks completely unhinged. Thiwa tackles Parn-duen so Janchai can escape, but Parn-duen relentlessly gives chase. Luckily, Wayu arrives just in time and whisks Janchai away to hide out in an old house on his private island.
As Wayu, Janchai, and Somchai reach the pier, Anon and Sergeant Pong intercept them. Before they can negotiate, Wicharn's henchmen arrive to eliminate Wayu and his crew. Anon and Sergeant Pong are forced to team up with Wayu. During the chaotic shootout, Wicharn's men hit a fuel barrel right where Janchai is taking cover. The massive explosion makes her vanish instantly! Anon and Wayu are completely shocked, and both end up getting shot. Sergeant Pong and Somchai struggle to carry their respective bosses to safety. However, Parn-duen refuses to believe Janchai is dead. She scours the earth, determined to hunt down and completely destroy her sister.
How will the vengeful battle between the two tiger women, Parn-duen and Janchai, end? And will Anon ever find a way out for his own heart? Tune in to find out in "Phrajan Lai Payak" (Tiger-Striped Moon), airing every Wednesday and Thursday at 8:30 PM on Channel 7. The first episode premieres on Wednesday, February 17, 2010.
