This is a story about perseverance and the struggles of the poor striving for a better life.
Phet, a handsome and cheerful young man, works as a motorcycle taxi driver. Despite his humble job, he is never ashamed—he takes pride in being able to support his family and put himself through school until graduation. Phet dreams of becoming a famous luk thung (Thai country) singer and works tirelessly in every possible way to achieve that dream, hoping one day to improve his life and his family’s future.
Phet’s best friend, Din, is also a motorcycle taxi driver with a tough exterior but a kind heart. The two share a deep bond, always supporting each other through hardships. They have stood side by side for years, true friends who fight through life together—and Din shares the same dream of becoming a luk thung singer.
As the story unfolds, Phet’s life becomes filled with turmoil. His father, Uthai, brings home a thoughtless widow who once saved his life, allowing her to live with them along with her troublesome younger brother. From then on, the two create constant conflict within the household, causing tension and division. Eventually, Phet and his younger sister Netdao are forced to separate from their father—who never learns the truth that his children have been mistreated and falsely accused, as they choose to remain silent to protect him from worry.
Despite his hardships, good things still come into Phet’s life—one of them being Pudpitcha, a beautiful young woman and Netdao’s friend. She comes from a well-off family, has a positive outlook on life, and possesses a kind heart. As they grow closer, Phet and Pudpitcha develop feelings for each other. Like Phet, she also dreams of becoming a famous luk thung singer—a dream her late mother deeply wished for her to achieve.
However, the path to becoming a successful singer is far from easy. Their journey is not like a fairy tale paved with roses. Unexpected events, hardships, suffering, and countless obstacles surround them. They must also face jealousy and ill intentions from others who try to tear them away from their dreams.
To reach their goals, they must endure struggles, remain determined, and find ways to overcome every challenge without giving up—so they can move forward together toward their beautiful dream.
