Synopsis
Kiat, a foreign-educated young man and the son of a billionaire, is forced by his mother, Pakpring, to marry Nongnat, a woman she has chosen for him. His father, Banlue, disapproves of his wife’s interference. Kiat keeps avoiding the situation, but eventually gives in to the pressure and agrees to the marriage. However, on the wedding day, chaos erupts when the bride is exposed as already pregnant, and her real husband shows up with a group of men to take her back. The ceremony is abruptly canceled, leaving both families humiliated—especially Kiat, who is deeply embarrassed in front of the guests.
Enraged, Pakpring declares at the event that she will soon find a new, suitable bride for her son. While the chaos leaves many upset, it sparks hope in two women: Orawee, Kiat’s close high-society friend, and Jarungjit, an older socialite. Both become determined to win Kiat’s heart and become his true bride.
Distressed, Kiat escapes and wanders to a nearby bridge, where he is followed by Boontham, a gardener. Boontham shares stories of his past life—though poor, he once lived freely and happily as a traveling boat vendor. Inspired by this, Kiat asks his father for permission to live independently for a while. Banlue agrees, especially when Kiat decides to take Boontham along.
Kiat sets off on a brightly painted boat labeled “Floating Minimart,” traveling along canals selling various goods. Boontham steers the boat while Kiat uses a loudspeaker to advertise. They enjoy a carefree life, singing country songs and playfully flirting with girls along the riverbanks. Kiat becomes so enchanted with this lifestyle that he adopts a new identity as a traveling merchant named “Rak Rae.”
One day, while learning to steer the boat, Rak Rae accidentally crashes into a food boat owned by Pimjit and her daughter, Homchan, causing it to sink. He compensates them and helps repair their boat, bringing him closer to Homchan. Despite their modest life, Pimjit and Homchan are kind-hearted and generous. Eventually, Rak Rae invites them to join him, combining their businesses into a floating minimart with a food boat, which becomes very successful.
As Rak Rae and Homchan grow closer, obstacles arise. Kanya, a charming nurse, falls for Rak Rae and constantly tries to get close to him, causing misunderstandings. Meanwhile, Orawee and Jarungjit track him down and compete for his attention. Jarungjit schemes against Homchan, even tricking her and her mother into signing a loan contract and forcing them into debt.
Rak Rae later uncovers the truth and rescues them, restoring his relationship with Homchan. Jarungjit eventually faces the consequences of her actions and withdraws from the love rivalry.
At the same time, conflicts unfold among other characters in the riverside community—family feuds, love triangles, and misunderstandings. Kiat (Rak Rae) proves himself through sincerity, intelligence, and perseverance, eventually overcoming his rival Patsada, a spoiled rich man who also pursues Homchan.
In the end, the characters reconcile, relationships heal, and harmony returns to the community. Rak Rae and Homchan choose a simple life together, continuing their journey on the floating minimart boat—not just as a livelihood, but as their shared home and symbol of the life they have chosen to build together.
