Synopsis

Duean Tem, the daughter of Village Head Thamrong, is determined to develop Thung Phleng—a village with almost nothing to attract outsiders. However, her vision clashes with Kamnan Jerdjarat, who plans to sell the village land to a wealthy investor, Kriangkrai, to build a resort. As a result, Duean Tem and her loyal right-hand man, Go, become targets of the kamnan. They often escape harm thanks to Rungtawan, the kamnan’s youngest son, who has fallen in love with Duean Tem. But this does not escape the notice of Akkhee, the kamnan’s ruthless eldest son, who tries to teach Duean Tem a lesson by tricking her into a dangerous situation involving illegal logging. She narrowly escapes, thanks to Fahfuen, a freelance photographer collecting forest images for Natural G Graphic magazine.
Duean Tem is impressed by Fahfuen and brings him to her village, hoping he will publish photos of Thung Phleng and help it gain recognition, freeing it from the kamnan’s influence. As they grow closer, she learns Fahfuen loves luk thung (Thai country music). He was an orphan raised by a traveling band, which shaped his life. Before leaving, Fahfuen promises to publish the village’s story and return to marry her. However, his letter is stolen and destroyed by Pudjeeb, a beautiful village woman who also desires him, leading Duean Tem to believe he abandoned her.
Meanwhile, Akkhee plots against Thamrong, luring him into the forest where he dies from a venomous snake bite. Tragedy continues when Fahfuen’s adoptive father, Muang Singh—a wealthy café owner—gets entangled with Michael, a mafia figure. Michael uses Lily as bait to frame Muang Singh for murder, then kills him and falsely accuses Fahfuen of being both a murderer and a drug trafficker. Forced to flee, Fahfuen becomes a fugitive hunted by Inspector Ngamta, a tough female officer, and Lieutenant Pakorn, a policeman who loves luk thung music but struggles in his career.
Fahfuen escapes with the help of his close friend, Buhnga, who disguises him as a foreigner named “Kenny Crook.” They hide with Plearn Rampai, a luk thung singer. There, Fahfuen saves Plearn from abuse and financial exploitation. By coincidence, Duean Tem arrives in the area, but fails to recognize Fahfuen in disguise. Buhnga renames him “Khanom Krok” because his foreign name is too difficult to pronounce.
Back in Thung Phleng, Duean Tem aims to become the next village head, competing against Akkhee, who buys votes with money from Kriangkrai. Disguised as “Khanom Krok,” Fahfuen helps her by composing luk thung songs to promote her policies, winning villagers’ hearts. Despite this, Akkhee wins the election through fraud.
As tensions rise, Michael returns alongside Kriangkrai. Meanwhile, Pakorn and Ngamta go undercover as a married couple to investigate, often clashing despite growing feelings. They suspect “Khanom Krok” but fail to catch him. Eventually, Fahfuen is nearly exposed, and Duean Tem begins to doubt him.
Before Fahfuen can reveal the truth, Michael kidnaps Duean Tem to stop her from interfering with his drug operation with Akkhee. Fahfuen rescues her, revealing his identity during a fight. However, Duean Tem is shot and seriously injured before she can fully learn the truth. Police arrive in time, and Fahfuen ensures her safety before surrendering himself, determined to prove his innocence.
Lieutenant Pakorn believes Fahfuen, while Ngamta remains skeptical. Eventually, evidence confirms Michael and Akkhee’s drug operation. Pakorn releases Fahfuen to help set a trap. Disguised as buyers, Fahfuen and Buhnga lure the criminals into a confrontation. Kriangkrai and Kamnan Jerdjarat are arrested, but Michael and Akkhee escape. Michael later betrays Akkhee, kills him, and kidnaps Plearn.
In the final confrontation, Fahfuen, Duean Tem, Ngamta, and Pakorn attempt a rescue but fall into Michael’s trap. To protect Duean Tem, Fahfuen shoots himself. Pakorn arrives with reinforcements and captures Michael.
Fahfuen lies unconscious in the hospital while Duean Tem waits faithfully for him to wake, recalling his promise to meet again at Phu Khiang Tawan. Pudjeeb finally returns Fahfuen’s old letter, revealing the truth. As Duean Tem reads it aloud in tears, Fahfuen secretly awakens but pretends to remain unconscious to fulfill his promise first—to publish photos of Thung Phleng. He succeeds, and the village becomes widely known, attracting tourists.
In the end, Pakorn gives credit to Ngamta, who is promoted, while he resigns to pursue his dream as a singer in Thung Phleng. Realizing her feelings, Ngamta follows him and confesses her love. Duean Tem becomes the new village head. Plearn marries Rungtawan. Fahfuen returns to live in Thung Phleng with Duean Tem, and together they develop the village—honoring their love and the promise they once made at Phu Khiang Tawan.
