Synopsis

“Buang Hong” (Swan’s Trap) tells the story of Pimlapas (Pancake Khemanit Jamikorn), the only daughter of Trai (Ton Trakan Phanthumlertrujji), a businessman who goes bankrupt and takes his own life to escape debt. Spoiled since childhood and raised in luxury, Pimlapas grows up arrogant, impulsive, and self-centered. Her father’s death turns her life upside down—she loses everything and is forced to move out of her seized home into a small rented condo.
The person who benefits the most from Trai’s wealth is Mathawee (Namfon Kunnat Kulpriyawat), Pimlapas’s young stepmother, who divorces Trai beforehand and claims a large settlement. She rises in high society by launching her own fashion house and becoming a model herself. Meanwhile, Pimlapas’s fiancé, Yosapol (Nuss Anan Laphanich), breaks off their engagement, leaving her completely alone.
Despite her downfall, Pimlapas refuses to change her arrogant ways. Modeling jobs disappear as people grow tired of her unreliability. Her wealth gradually dwindles, but she refuses to sell one last treasured possession—a diamond swan brooch given by her father on her 15th birthday.
Her condo owners, Kittichai (Oliver Pupart) and his cunning wife Orusa, see her desperation and offer her a high-paying job: to steal and destroy a secret tape and letters from Rames (Weeraphap Suparbpaiboon), the owner of Chiang Rai Jaravee Hotel. They claim Rames is blackmailing Orusa over an alleged affair. Initially reluctant, Pimlapas agrees after learning Mathawee will hold a fashion show at the same hotel.
At the hotel, Pimlapas captures everyone’s attention with her beauty—including Rames, who quickly falls for her. While he treats her with care and affection, she focuses solely on stealing the evidence. However, her inexperience leads to suspicion, and Rames eventually catches her in the act. When the truth is revealed, Pimlapas realizes she has been deceived and feels deeply ashamed—yet also heartbroken when Rames distances himself from her.
Left without money after Kittichai refuses to pay her, Pimlapas is forced to work at the hotel as a waitress to repay her debt. Stripped of her former luxury, she lives in cramped staff quarters and endures harsh working conditions. Initially despised for her arrogance, she slowly changes as she bonds with her coworkers and begins to understand life’s hardships. Though still flawed, her kindness emerges when she defends others from abusive customers.
When Mathawee arrives at the hotel, she mocks Pimlapas’s downfall and schemes to drive a wedge between her and Rames. She manipulates events and even arranges for a man named Sia Saman, who is obsessed with Pimlapas, to assault her. Pimlapas narrowly escapes and mistakenly believes Rames betrayed her, deepening the misunderstanding between them.
Heartbroken, Pimlapas sells her beloved swan brooch to repay her debt and leaves the hotel. Back in Bangkok, she adopts a simpler lifestyle and tries to rebuild her life, but Mathawee uses her influence to block her from modeling work. Struggling to find employment, Pimlapas eventually becomes a private English tutor.
By chance, she meets Nara, who she believes is Rames’s fiancée, but later discovers Nara is actually engaged to Sinat, Rames’s business partner. With the help of Rames’s sister, Rojana, the truth is revealed, and Pimlapas and Rames finally reconcile, realizing their true feelings for each other.
As for Mathawee, she ultimately faces the consequences of her actions when her schemes are exposed to the public, destroying her reputation and leaving her shunned by society.
