Synopsis
The search for “Mae Fuang” begins with a few physical clues—a set of clothes, a watch, and a laminated card. These items drive Chao Sua Jermsuk Ratchasena, a wealthy 75-year-old tycoon, to search for a woman he must send back to the past. This mission comes from an ancestral record dating back to the Thonburi era, a command passed down through generations. The woman is the origin of the Ratchasena family—without her, their lineage would not exist. If she is not found, the family’s very existence is at risk.
One day, a young female photographer named Patchara Fuang appears before Jermsuk and his grandson Peerapat by coincidence. What captures Jermsuk’s attention is her nickname, “Fuang,” the same as in the ancient record. Suddenly, Jermsuk collapses in front of her. From that moment on, Patchara Fuang begins experiencing strange events. She dreams of an ancient man who gently calls her “Mae Fuang.”
Kawin, a lecturer in the Faculty of Archaeology and Fuang’s close friend, asks her to help teach photography techniques to his students. This leads Peerapat, Kawin’s student, to meet Fuang again—and he quickly falls deeply in love with her, causing tension between him and his teacher.
Jermsuk then devises a plan by hiring Fuang to photograph his traditional Thai house. He shows her ancestral portraits, including one of the very man she has seen in her dreams. After she completes her work, he gives her a necklace with a black stone pendant, claiming it is a protective charm, and instructs her to chant a spell regularly.
Peerapat, however, tries to stop Jermsuk from sending her back to the past, as he has fallen in love with her. But one day, near Wat Rakhang, Fuang begins hearing a mysterious chant: “Om phapalokaratthawarang.” The sound grows louder, following her even into Kawin’s car. Unknowingly, she begins chanting along. Suddenly, a loud crash occurs—and when Kawin regains awareness, Fuang has vanished from the locked car.
She reappears in the year 1769, during the Thonburi period, inside a temple. Her sudden presence shocks everyone, including the Supreme Patriarch. There, she meets the ancient man from her dreams: Luang Phiphit Ratchasena. Terrified, she tries to flee, but he catches her as she faints.
He takes her to stay with his sister, Mae Samli, in a secluded riverside home. Fuang tries to explain that she is from the future and seeks a way back to her own time. Along the way, she meets Phraya Anuchit Racha, a high-ranking police official who becomes instantly fond of her.
Conflict arises when a cruel man named Chan attempts to assault a servant girl, Sai. Fuang intervenes but nearly becomes his victim herself—until Luang Phiphit rescues her. This incident fuels Chan’s hatred. Out of concern, Luang Phiphit moves Fuang and Sai to his residence in the capital.
Meanwhile, Pudsorn, the daughter of a wealthy nobleman who desires Luang Phiphit, schemes to trap him by falsely accusing him of compromising her honor, forcing him into responsibility. In despair, he drinks heavily and confesses his love to Fuang.
Back in the present, Kawin and Peerapat, once at odds, join forces to prove that Fuang is still alive and to find a way to bring her back.
In the past, jealousy intensifies as Phraya Anuchit frequently visits Fuang, causing Luang Phiphit to act out of spite by announcing his engagement to Pudsorn—deeply hurting Fuang. Later, when Fuang protects servants from punishment by taking lashes in their place, Luang Phiphit is overwhelmed with guilt and confesses his love to her.
Pudsorn, enraged, plots with Chan to abduct Fuang and sell her. Sai, loyal to Fuang, follows to protect her but is brutally assaulted and left near death. Fuang is taken onto a Chinese junk ship, but Luang Phiphit and Phraya Anuchit arrive in time to rescue her. Chan is captured and confesses that Pudsorn was behind it, but she shifts the blame to her servant.
After all the turmoil, Phraya Anuchit proposes marriage to Fuang, but she chooses Luang Phiphit—the man she has loved since before arriving in the past. They marry and have a son named Kimju, and Fuang becomes pregnant again. She finally finds happiness.
But tragedy strikes once more. In the present, Kawin and Peerapat perform a ritual to call her back. As Fuang feeds her son, she unknowingly responds to the call—and is instantly pulled back to the present, leaving her child and husband behind.
Devastated, she tries to return by chanting the spell, but the sacred stone that connected time has shattered. Jermsuk takes her to the old house and gives her Luang Phiphit’s journal, written after her disappearance. It reveals that if she had a daughter, she should be named Kaewkanlaya.
Fuang clutches the journal to her chest, holding onto the memories of her past life, as she struggles to accept the painful reality of her loss.
