Synopsis

Paran (Tor) carries painful memories of the day his mother, Mutita, abandoned him, his younger sister Pandao (Taen), and their father at their orchard home in Amphawa to go live with Ram Worawet, the wealthy father of Nootun, in Bangkok. Filled with anger and resentment toward his mother, Paran’s life grows even harder when his father dies from heart disease.
During that time, Nootun visits her grandmother Rabiab’s house in Amphawa. Upset about her father’s remarriage, she finds comfort in Paran, and the two become close friends. Before leaving to study in America, Nootun gives Paran one of her teardrop-shaped earrings as a keepsake, keeping the other for herself. Paran, in return, gives her a music box.
Years later, Paran becomes a police captain and meets Dueanmesa (May), the daughter of wealthy businessman Wanchai, who is also Ram’s close friend. May deeply loves Paran, but he only sees her as a friend. Meanwhile, Paran struggles to earn money to treat his younger sister, who is suffering from leukemia. When he can no longer afford the expenses, he sells their Amphawa home and moves his family to Bangkok. Due to problems at work, he resigns from the police force and becomes a bodyguard for Lily, who has returned from America under a new name.
Mutita does not recognize Paran as her son, and Paran does not recognize Nootun as she is now Lily. Believing she is Ram and Mutita’s daughter, Paran harbors resentment toward her. His close friend, Police Captain Dechphong, constantly reminds him not to take out his anger on an innocent person.
Tensions rise between Mutita and Lily, eventually revealing to Paran that they are not truly mother and daughter. May visits Paran at his home, but Lily dislikes her due to past conflicts in America. Lily looks down on May for associating with someone she considers beneath her like “San” (Paran’s alias), but her reaction reveals her hidden feelings for Paran. In truth, Paran also secretly loves Lily.
Mutita plots to have Paran eliminate Lily, but he refuses. She then hires Chartchai instead, who attacks Lily while she is traveling to Amphawa. Paran rescues her just in time, and his willingness to risk his life makes Lily realize how much he cares for her.
Meanwhile, Ram falls gravely ill after being betrayed and bankrupted by Wanchai. Mutita pressures Ram to force Lily into marrying Kongpop, the son of a wealthy family. Lily agrees, believing the money will help save her father. However, the wedding is interrupted when Paran abducts Lily and takes her to a house he had secretly bought, fulfilling a promise he once made to Nootun—while also seeking revenge on Ram and Mutita.
While trying to escape, Lily discovers a teardrop earring by the bedside, which reminds her of Tor. When Paran sees it in her hand, he angrily scolds her. Hurt and overwhelmed, Lily confesses her feelings, and Paran admits his love as well. The two finally unite in love.
Soon after, Ram passes away. When Lily learns that Mutita had deceived them all along and was responsible for her father’s death, she is consumed with anger. Discovering that Mutita is now living as Wanchai’s mistress, Lily manipulates Wuttikorn—Wanchai’s son who is in love with her—into marrying her, then forces him to drive Mutita out of the house.
With nowhere to go, Mutita seeks help from Paran, but he rejects her. Enraged, she attempts to throw acid at Lily, but accidentally injures herself instead and dies from her wounds in a tragic end.
Lily later discovers she is pregnant with Paran’s child. She flees from her marriage to Wuttikorn and returns to Amphawa to live with Grandma Rabiab. When Ya Mala realizes Lily is actually Nootun, she informs Paran. Paran rushes to confess that he is Tor, but Lily is too hurt to accept him.
Wuttikorn tracks Lily down and attacks her in revenge. He fires a gun at her, but Paran shields her and is critically wounded. In the chaos, Wuttikorn accidentally shoots and kills Wanchai, leaving himself mentally broken.
May offers to care for Paran for the rest of his life, but he refuses. Heartbroken, she leaves for America, encouraging Lily to follow her heart, knowing Paran loves her and their child.
When Paran recovers, Lily lets go of her pride, reconciles with him, and they begin a new life together—bound by love and their child, the precious “golden chain” that ties their hearts forever.
