The story follows Krit, a grown man who dreams of becoming a police officer. He lives in a temple in Pattaya with a monk. His father, Major Wanlop, is a retired military officer who once fought in the Vietnam War—something Krit takes great pride in, seeing his father as a hero.
Krit is skilled in Muay Thai and often secretly participates in illegal underground boxing matches for gambling money, which he uses to support the temple and pay for the monk’s medical care. His best friend, Joey, is the one who introduces him to these fights.
One day, a group of criminals led by Colonel Ledikto, head of the intelligence unit of North Vietnam’s Security Council under the command of General Le Van Duek, along with his trusted subordinates Binh Xuan and Bao Dai, attack Krit’s family home in Udon Thani. They murder his parents while searching for something, but when they fail to find it, they burn the house to destroy all evidence—killing his parents in the fire. Although Lieutenant Minh, a Vietnamese-American CIA agent, arrives to help, he is too late.
The only thing Krit’s father leaves behind is a necklace with a large Buddha amulet, which he used to wear during the war. Devastated by the loss, Krit becomes determined to find the people responsible for his father’s death.
