Prueksa Sawat tells the story of love and life revolving around Prajim, a middle-aged man who raises a young girl, On (Ornintra), until she grows up—and eventually falls in love with her. However, On only respects him as her benefactor.
Dr. Prajim is an uncharismatic man who is attracted to bold and sexy women. Despite pursuing many, he always fails in love. Recently dumped by a high-society woman, he becomes drunk and passes out in his car at an intersection, ending up at the police station. This incident makes him wary of women, worrying his mother and sister.
Stee, a distant relative of Prajim’s mother, is taken in and raised as a housemaid. She secretly loves Prajim, but he sees her only as a younger sister. Later, Prajim’s friend Erb falls gravely ill in Lamphun. By the time Prajim arrives, Erb has already passed away, entrusting him with the care of his daughter, On. Prajim brings On and her grandmother, Ui Mool, to live with him—much to the displeasure of his family.
Prajim takes excellent care of On, supporting her education, sports, and music. This causes jealousy among his nieces, who constantly mock and bully her. Prajim becomes increasingly protective, eventually possessive, and begins transforming himself into a more attractive man.
One day, On nearly drowns due to a prank by her cousins, but Wiksit saves her. Prajim, overcome with jealousy, attacks Wiksit. On is questioned but refuses to blame anyone, impressing Wiksit and sparking his feelings for her. From then on, he stays close to her, which angers Prajim, who forbids their relationship—though they secretly continue seeing each other.
Nanthawan, heartbroken from her own relationship, returns to Prajim and becomes jealous of both On and Stee. She schemes against them, spreading rumors that lead to On being banned from school. Wiksit confronts Prajim, accusing him of being an old man chasing a young girl, leading to a violent fight that escalates into a family conflict.
Feeling guilty, On suffers emotionally. Prajim locks her in a room, but Wiksit helps her escape to stay with Waen, a musician friend who also falls for her but steps aside when he learns she loves Wiksit.
Prajim finds On and brings her back home due to her grandmother’s illness. Misunderstandings cause Wiksit to believe On betrayed him, driving him to alcohol. Ui Mool advises Prajim to take On away temporarily and tells On to repay Prajim’s kindness by becoming his wife. Though conflicted, she agrees.
After returning, a heated confrontation leads Prajim, in anger and jealousy, to assault On. Stee later reveals to Wiksit that Prajim had not touched On during their trip, and it was Wiksit’s accusations that pushed things to this point. Wiksit is filled with regret.
On becomes pregnant with Prajim’s child, causing further turmoil. Prajim’s family mocks and humiliates her. Nanthawan pretends to be pregnant as well, trying to push On out. Eventually, her lie is exposed, and she is expelled from the house.
Unable to endure the situation, On leaves and moves to Chiang Mai, working at a restaurant owned by Thip. Prajim and Wiksit realize their mistakes and join forces to find her. Eventually, Waen discovers On in labor and takes her to the hospital, where she gives birth to a baby boy.
The family is overjoyed at the birth, forgetting past conflicts. Prajim attempts to end things with Nanthawan, but she causes a car crash that kills her instantly, leaving Prajim injured.
Wiksit brings On and her child back to Bangkok to reconcile with Prajim before leaving to study abroad. In the end, Prajim and On come to an understanding, setting aside their pride. Prajim names their son “Jo,” his first child and the joy of the family.
