Synopsis

Prince Piriyaphong, heir to the Kingdom of Phrommin, travels to the state of Kusarat to study statecraft under Prince Orissa Watthana (also known as the Minister Prince). Kusarat is currently ruled by an aging King whose only daughter, the Crown Princess, is renowned for her extraordinary beauty. Though she is pursued by many royal relatives—most notably the military-minded Prince Chaiyachat and the French-educated Prince Butsakon—her heart belongs solely to Prince Orissa Watthana.
However, Prince Orissa Watthana remains distant toward the Crown Princess, dedicating himself entirely to his duties as the Minister of the Federation. He works tirelessly behind the scenes to stabilize Kusarat, which is fractured by power struggles involving rebellious nobles, Prince Butsakon, and the ambitious Devi Suliporn. Serving as both a student and private secretary, Prince Piriyaphong comes to deeply admire Orissa Watthana’s profound wisdom in politics, diplomacy, and his unwavering justice.
During his stay, Piriyaphong discovers a secret: Orissa Watthana has been a childhood soulmate to his own elder sister, Princess Phanphilat. The two have exchanged letters for years, their friendship blossoming into a deep, rooted love. Meanwhile, as Piriyaphong comforts the Crown Princess over her unrequited love for his mentor, he finds himself falling for her.
The political landscape shifts when Orissa Watthana strategically supports Prince Chaiyachat for a diplomatic mission to Europe. Impressed by this fairness, Chaiyachat pledges his loyalty, further infuriating the rejected Prince Butsakon, who begins plotting a coup alongside General Surithep.
Back in Phrommin, a handsome suitor named Prince Sophana begins courting Princess Phanphilat. Fearing he might lose his true love, Orissa Watthana rushes to Phrommin after declining the King of Kusarat’s request to marry the Crown Princess. Instead, he recommends Prince Piriyaphong as a more suitable match—a suggestion the King accepts, much to the Crown Princess's initial sorrow. In Phrommin, Orissa Watthana reunites with Phanphilat, and their decade-long bond is reaffirmed. He gains the King of Phrommin's blessing for their marriage and returns to Kusarat to handle a rising rebellion.
As the grand wedding of the Crown Princess and Prince Piriyaphong arrives, the Federation approves the subsequent marriage of Orissa Watthana and Phanphilat. The Crown Princess begins to open her heart to Piriyaphong, learning to love him as her husband. However, tragedy strikes during a military demonstration held as part of the celebrations. While Orissa Watthana is on horseback reaching for a "Raindrop Flower"—the favorite flower of his beloved Phanphilat—Prince Butsakon assassinates him. Prince Chaiyachat, in a fit of rage, hunts down and kills the traitorous Butsakon.
When the news reaches Phrommin, Princess Phanphilat is consumed by immeasurable grief. In her sorrow, she realizes the fleeting nature of life: that everything we see and experience is transient—like a vision that vanishes the moment we open our eyes, existing only "in a dream."
